"The two-meter (six-foot) long piece of wreckage, known as a flaperon, has been sent to France for analysis." I think the flaperons of all the other Boeing 777s in the world are currently accounted for.

I will help search the beaches for free if can get me there.

Malaysian officials seem to jump the gun rather often.
Obviously this is a part of that plane but judging by the time elapsed and the sheer mass of ocean involved, the plane is no further to being found and the lump of aluminium isn't imo going to give a shred of evidence as to the mystery of the planes disappearance.

I am sure we will all know in a day or so as I am sure some official announcement will be made. They MUST be 100% sure this time around. The poor families waiting ... I really feel for them!

No one is sending survey ships until the area is further narrowed down but it is very possible to map currents and tides with sophisticated analysis of water movements to trace back how the debris had moved, guiding search teams looking for the rest of the wreck. As of now they don't even know for sure whether the plane broke apart mid-air or when it hit the ocean.

This is why I am never setting foot in a Boeing or DC9. Seriously people!!! They have the worst safety record ever!!! My condolences for the families of the victims.

Do ya realize that the safety record is up to the airline companies who maintain the planes, not the manufacturers?

I sure hope they can confirm this is the wreckage of MH370.

That's gonna severely restrict your flight schedule...
