I like watching Brazil screw Musk.

A tyrant accusing someone else of being a tyrant... don't know the legal procedures of Brazil. I suppose they may have some tendency to be politically bias and corruption too... but then again, Twitter under Musk control is not exactly an icon of justice and fairness... far from it.

Nah... I said Musk was a phony since 2010... you could say I saw how he stole ideas and busines from others (very well documented facts).

It may be a good idea to remind Musk those words.

In the particular case of Musk, every donation or good thing he does he inmediatly does two time a bad thing. He promoted electric cars and helped the industry to grow... but then he blocked the industry by imposing his charging system and not allowing to be universal. He pushed for the development of a new reusable propulsion rockets, but destrying a protected natural reserve. He promoted the creation of new technology but also creating horrible work environment (Tesla, Twitter, SpaceX). He lies about the batteries, Musk companies does not create any of the so called Tesla Batteries, most of them are made by Panasonic or other company. He is unwilling to accept his children (daughter), he cheats, he lies and in either case make even the effort to change.

Musk is not the only rich horrible guy in the world, I know, but other rich horrible guys are less public in their doing and don't try to promote their image to be as a Saint and saviour.

Twitter is still breaking the law, and is still blocked for this reason, the company that relented and no longer plans to break the law is Starlink, which is understandable seeing how Musk greatly overestimated the importance its services have in Brazil and the leverage he would get by threatening to break the law.

His "smart move" was to avoid banning accounts he wanted to promote, just to lose the whole market and in practical terms having those accounts effectively banned anyway. He lost a lot and gained nothing.

Looks like St. Elon has to obey the law as well. Quite refreshing actually.

Poor Musk. He's so used to buying judges and politicians (that's how American business works once you get above a certain size) and, failing that, the electorate or getting the American government to simply overthrow the government and put in a friendly one that he was sure he'd be able to do that in this case.

It hasn't yet, though I'm sure that he'll keep trying. But the world is shifting towards the BRICS style of free associations cooperating from the G7-20 style of rigid conformity for all but the select few.

And that's a model that sees more success for people like what Musk imagines himself to be, and less success for people like what Musk actually is.

You know I pretty much despise Elon Musk and have no use for X. Having said I have an even lower opinion of Brazil and it's government. I that I think the Brazilians are completely out of line trying to censor X and had it been my decision to make I'd have told them where to shove their court order, sideways with a twist. Brazil has a scummy government and a scummy criminal, cough, cough, "justice" system.

One of the principles of free speech is that a government has no a-priori right to deny people the right to express political opinions, even when they are harshly critical of that government. But that is exactly what Brazil is doing. It is detestable.

Mr. Musk needs to STAY OUT of the politics and just focus on what he does best, TECH.

No. Brazil is taking action against a company that is not compliant with Brazilian law.

Musk's team had the opportunity to respond within the legal system of Brazil, and in his heavy handed manner, thought he could ignore them. They said 'no, we're the law here'.

As every company should - no company should be larger than multiple countries. Musk has his finger on the scale of politics in every nation in which Twitter operates, there is no reason they shouldn't lift that thumb right back up.
