Sunnis are blowing up other Sunnis and Shiites to pieces, and a few days ago 2 fools in London ran over and hacked to death an innocent British soldier, then another Muslim terrorist stabbed a French police man in the throat or neck?? But these guys want the POPE to say, sure, you and your religion is for PEACE???? Sorry, DEEDS are more powerful than just EMPTY words! If our actions are for peace, then no POPE etc..has to say that our religion, ideas are for peace, YOUR OWN ACTIONS MUST BE FOR PEACE and this goes for Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Tree worshippers etc..at the end of the day and at the end of our lives it is our own individual actions, how we lived that will let the world if we had peace in our hearts. IMHO The Pope has nothing to do with any of our own individual actions

Very funny... Muslims are asking Christians to declare that Islam is PEACE. My be you will see soon that Christians goes to Islam and ask Christianity is peace.....Hey guys practice peace... then the world will judge it is a peaceful religion or not.....

Are they serious??? Is this a joke? Yeah, there are many muslims that are peaceful, but calling Islam a peaceful religion is over reaching....a lot, IMHO.

Unfortunately, there is a huge list of muslims committing violent acts in the name of islam. Must of the readers here can probably name at least a couple of events in the last few weeks.

Certainly not all muslims are violent but there are enough violent parts of the quran and hadiths combined with (mostly) young men prepared to act on those violent texts as well as sympathizers for violent actions within islam.

Religions should be judged in the way they live and breathe - its people and how they behave. Islam is violent.

Instead of asking a Christian to declare Islam is a peaceful religion, why not crack down on those Inmans and Mullahs who are convincing youngsters that it's OK to strap bombs to their bodies and blow themselves and others to smithereens. Radical Islamists are the cause of the well-deserved perception that Islam is anything but a peaceful religion.

How does 26000 incidents of terror by muslims, prove that Islam does not mean peace....? True that all the muslims are not terrorist but all the terrorists are muslims?????

If Muslims they feel themselves are good then why they are not stopping the evils by the fellow muslims????? We here many philosophical words from muslims. But in reality when are gathered they support Islamic terrorism. Because they are internally one. When we can see muslims come out and speak out against muslim terrorist then we will see peace in that religion. Until then all are in the same boat...

Perhaps the problems with the former pope Gawad refers to includes Mr. Ratzinger's description of Mohammed's teachings as 'wicked'. The former pope also described Buddhism as 'spiritual auto eroticism'. Religion is divisive enough without the head of one of the world's largest faiths causing more bad feeling by slagging off other traditions. Hopefully, this pope will be a little more circumspect.

Dear friend and brother... Yes they are many people are being killed in Iraq, look at Syria also... When you muslims kills you people shout " Allahu Akbar".. Those killers are called terrorist.... We did not hear "Jesus Akbar" or "Buddha Akbar" , from those religious people. Even when they fought back to the terrorist.... See the difference.
