Nyi Nyi Aung, former citizen of Myanmar, who, out of disloyalty to his mother land and people, planned to instigate unrest and launch terrorist attacks, and his internal anti-governments contacts. Nyi Nyi Aung gave advice and financial support to bring about the movement of internal monks demonstrations. Not only that, he collected funds for anti- government people and organizations abroad and provided them to their hard-core members in the nation. “A country’s sovereignty depends on its seriousness in honouring its laws mirrored by its firmness and never compromising with practices that disrespect the law, and by its intolerance towards malpractices like misappropriation, criminal breach of trust, power abuse and corruption. There is sovereignty of the law if there is a strong spirit to uphold the law and truth as a way of life.”
What about in U.S.?

If they were legal, and they are just saying they're 'illegal' to get at him, then that's bad, but otherwise, he's stupid for trying to risk it.

He put is own personal freedom on the line to help focus attention on a brutal regime.

He sounds like a brave man doing the grunt work of democracy. Some here choose to call him an idiot. He sounds more like a true hero to me. My forefathers broke the law many times to free itself of a much less tyrannical situation. Nyi Nyi Aung and his family seems committed to bring democracy into Myanmar. For that I give him my respect.

Uh, chotto, the claim is that the docs were legit but the regime needed something to pin on him so they could lock him up. That can happen in places like Burma or NK.

hey, Chotto?....idiot?......lighten up....may be a method in his madness

In 3 years, after rethinking his stupidity, he can come home. I don't expect him to get a pardon or shorter sentence. < :-)

Just desserts. Don't go to a foreign country with forged documents. Idiot.

Just a reminder that there are a few regimes almost as repugnant as North Korea.

Perhaps they will finally be reunited. Lawyers must have been good as they kept 9 years off his term.
