Brunei in its capacity as ASEAN chair said the bloc has decided to invite a non-political representative, instead of Myanmar’s military leader.

Once again it is proven beyond diplo-doubt that NOT inviting the bloodthirsty and fanatical generalissimo to the next meeting of ASEAN stuffed shirts, will obviously thwart the power-hungry and ambitious plans of that most crazed despot. "Not only are you uninvited to our meeting, you CAN'T come to high tea!" Gasp!  "And if THAT doesn't work, we may be forced to NOT invite you to our upcoming holiday gala!" Eek!  "And don't make us NOT invite you to our next combined cotillion and cocktail hour!"  Ohhh, the diplomatic horror of it all!  "Stop, stop!," says the heavily armed and fanatical despot! " You win!  I'll stop torture and the killings.  And restore justice, peace, democracy, and harmony to what's left of the miserable people of Myanmar! Just please, please invite me to your next meeting!"

Civilization marches on.
