China's has to take sides with North Korea if a war spouts out. Since America's allies with S. Korea, America's power stance will override the whole of China's eastern shore if they win the war, belittling china's powerstance right outside its shores. Furthermore, if america breaks war against china through another Korean war, the debts america owes to china will be cancelled, and we all know that's alot in currency value. There's more to this war than meets the eye.

Winner takes all... Why don't NK & SK go to WAR and winner takes all? Enough of this stale mate and demilitarized zone nonsense. JUST DO IT - NOW!! Quit keeping the rest of the world hostage. And shame on the US for being in the middle of this with their military base in the area. Let the South Koreans create their own army and defend their land. They have the industrial might to do so, but I feel the US likes being there to check mate China and Russia.

honestcanadian - "they cannot let N.korea to join the examination" That's like letting a robbery suspect help the police take fingerprints at a crime scene.

South korea can used old evidence to this incident, that is why they cannot let N.korea to join the examination.Shame on s.korea

why don't let n.korea come to examine ? Because s.korea is cheating the world.

“These anti-North Korean confrontations are an open declaration of war against us and an extraordinarily criminal act that pushes inter-Korean relations into a state of war,” Pak said.

Again, any South Korean sneezing in the general direction of Pyongyang would be interpreted as declaration war. But... when did the last one "end"? I thought that S and N were still technically in a state of war. Why would anyone have to declare war again? Perhaps the idiots in the North meant "breach of cease fire"?

Either way, what a bunch of maroons...

It could have even been a rogue NK general.

Not necessarily "rogue." Using the shootdown of KAL flight 007 in 1983 as an example, the orders to shoot the plane down did not come from the Kremlin but from a local force commander.

All a situation like this requires is a local commander who perceives that their territorial boundary has been (or is in danger of being) violated by a foreign craft of unknown intent.

Koreas, you make me laugh till I snort kimchi through my nose. War in the Korean Peninsular? Inevitable.

Wish I knew what NK's most powerful state organ was. I was thinking that it might have something to do with a sphincter.

Because while they may have examined evidence, they were not actually there to see it dredged up from the ocean floor for starters. Where it came from is a matter of trusting the South Koreans. And that still does not rule out the idea that it was planted by another.

Maybe you think this is a job for CSI, but no matter what you believe about the origin of the torpedo, its like determining that a bullet came from Wal-mart. If you cannot place one at the crime scene you have no case.

And I think you have not watched enough TV footage of NK military parades. One of those saucer hats is bound to get a glorious idea or two.

So Nk has adapted well and taken the methods of western conspiracy theorists (i.e. nutcases) and fabricate it well deep within its propaganda organs.

Who thinks up these rackets? Let's do something really grievous, the others are such pussycats that they'll pretend it didn't happen. If it gets hairy, we'll just take a page out the schoolyard, turn around and accuse the accusers of sabotaging themselves to frame us --and everyone will buy it because its so outrageous!

I saw a choral concert yesterday and the announcer looked just like her! I was waiting for her to break out in a sing-song trembling voice and declare how strong the people of NK are and how her enemies will be smashed and humiliated for making these false accusations against our Dear Leader.

N Korea accuses South of faking warship sinking

Honestly, who didn't see this one coming? It's like something out of an Austin Powers movie...

timorborder:I guess you could say that Dear Leader has the most powerful organ in NK ( and likes to wave around in front of his generals )

China is in more awkward position now because they have far more trade with South Korea than the North. And I still say let NK spout their macho nonsense and keep turning the screws on them. If they are crazy enough to start a war they know they'll be obliterated.

me too. it would be great if she could hook up with the ex Iraq information minister. What a great couple. Imagine the scene.

Kids: "when is dinner"

Father: "there is no dinner in this house! your dinner is committing suicide in the desert as we speak"

Mother: "The glorious dinner of the DPRK shall be consumed in love for the dear leader who has graciously allowed it to transpire through his wisdom and intelligence. Also it needs another 2 minutes in the microwave"

Read an interesting article yesterday (cannot remember where). However, it raised the possibility that this whole charade (that has cost the lives of a number of South Korean sailors) was actually staged by North Korea as a means by which to ease the accession of a new leader (Kim's son - not the one who got caught going to Disneyland in Tokyo). Anyway, the argument goes that North Korea engaged in this act of stupidity so the Party in Pyongyang can strengthen its position and pave the way for junior to step up to the plate. Although this whole precept might be a bit loopy, it has to be remembered that Elvis in Pyongyang has suffered a number of health issues in recent years. Moreover, getting the generation on the World stage before Elvis throws off his mortal coil is an important issue for North Korea.

PrideinJapanese, yes, your view has been expressed many times in recent days by readers here, but who would want to fuel aggression towards NK, and for what purpose? (Certainly not towards the North Korean people, though. Most people in the world feel immense sympathy towards the North Korean people.)

One group of people who might need more aggression towards NK is the rulers and military authorities in NK. Such 'aggression' might justify and strengthen their existence/position and make them more supported by the people. (?)

But I am still open and waiting to hear of any more convincing scenarios.

Why not ask the question "who gains the most by sinking the South Korean Ship?" Then step back and think if that's the case could it be possible that someone else might have done it to move own their agenda along.

There are about nine different "groups" that might have done this with only three real outcomes which leads to only two groups that would reap the rewards if they succeeded. I'm just saying don't use logic where logic has never been used.

Maybe she can get treatment for her hypertension in South Korea then.

This is obvious false flag attack aimed at fueling aggression towards the North Korean people.

Why wasn't China invited to take part into the investigations?

Because China doesn't care, one way or the other... And when it comes down to it, China will never take the side against N.Korea.

I wonder if the whole thing wasn't arranged by Kyung Lah of CNN to advance her TV career. The torpedo could have been fired from Ted Turner's yacht.

Why not present the findings of the investigation into the sinking to the UN security council and also to China and North Korea. Why wasn't China invited to take part into the investigations? Reading the articles published, they only presented some items that had been found on the sea bed, after trawling.Anyone could have put those there.I do believe in conspiracies,I'm not suggesting this is one,but present all the facts to the UN. This response with aggresive dialogue is not the answer, the World does not need anymore conflicts. The people of the World are tired of wars. Who will gain the most, that is the question we have to ask.

It could have even been a rogue NK general. The NK government might not be lying when they say they didn't do it. Somebody might be hoping for renewed hostilities so as to oust Dear Leader II and take his place as DL3.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

OMG, somebody stop this madness. Nobody, not even the NK authorities, believes this baloney.
