Oops~. Did I do that?
Of course!

NK shut down its internet in order to protect itself from retribution. It would be nice to think that another country did it, but unfortunately NK did it in order to keep the story alive in the media. President Obama said it best -"Every dog has his day." Just wait, and when NK least expect it - ping pong!

No Internet for you, NK. You've been grounded. Ha ha ha..
DVDexpert
99.999% of North Koreans can't use the Internet when it IS working. No change there, then.
TrevorPeace1
This little scene has yet to play out. While I tend to agree with some experts (and one poster hereon) most North Koreans don't have access to the Internet. The country has less than a half-dozen servers - all connected through China, by the way - and those got shut down. NK's elite and those working for them at higher levels can't access the internet without China's support.. Methinks the brat got a good spanking.

Wedged between SK and China, been cut from both ends?

The worldwide web only available to Gangs Of Pyongyang, and few others only connected locally with cell phone no in and out service outside N.Korea. The bully must be taught a lesson, and I hope the LIBS ???? (Liberal International Broadband Societies) will keep the mafia gangs of N.Korea in the dark for hundred years to come since they deserved it.

Most annoying. I was on Kimtube halfway through watching "Excellent Horse-Like Lady" when it cut out. Now all the succor I have is my kPhone and that popular game, "Angry Kims."

Rumor says Anon did this.
Karma is a bitch at times. I do expect Anon best be prepared for nasty retaliation.

Blaming South Korea for Sony Hacking is like a blaming Osama Bin laden for 9/11 attack.

Awful. how will the population do online shopping and access google and all. and what about all the online porn sites?
CrazyJoe
So fat boy and his politburo can't download their porn? I suggest they read the book "Computers & Software for Dummies".

If you want to amuse yourself for a few minutes have a look at the KCNA (Korean Central News Agency) website; it doesn't mention the Internet outage of course. Here's a snippet:
"Andy Brooks, general secretary of the Central Committee of the New Communist Party of Britain who doubles as chairman of the memorial committee, said that just as the feats of President Kim Il Sung is shining thanks to Kim Jong Il, his feats are immortal thanks to supreme leader Kim Jong Un who is successfully carrying forward his idea and cause."

Shades of just and desserts? Sounds like today's dessert menu is just a little better for losing weight.
Abdella
We laugh, but he has nukes. How'd that happen?

but North Korea isn't responsible for the hacking. they have proof. we just need to work with them to getting all taken care of diplomatically :P
Not the first time we heard this argument from that country
HonestDictator
Sounds like Anon did what they said, but as I said, those guys don't understand they're up against a foreign government. They've just stepped into the game of real life international criminal hacking of a government entity (and I use that loosely for NK). Just because people can be intelligent enough to do something doesn't mean it is the wisest thing to do. Just because someone can do something doesn't mean they should.

Harry, Andy Brooks failed to mention that the CCNCPoB has a membership of one, namely Andy Brooks. :)

According to CNN the internet outage is over now.
Ranger_Miffy2
BBC said there was only some 1,000 internet addresses & users in NK, so these has to be the leaders and bigwigs. Not exactly world shaking.
Para Sitius
Wow, I didn't know there was a New Communist Party of Britain. Who'da thunk it?
toshiko
Ranger stated tight. In USA CNN and other news stated that N K has about 1,000 interbet users. And wondered how many N K houses have telephone or use American English. American media has been using BBC to get info that American media is not accessed. That does not mean we have New Communist Party of USA. .
HonestDictator
If anon was smart about the hacking attempt (I'm pretty sure it was them), they should have hacked NKs broadcast and radio networks and then have NK defectors who escaped to SK have free access to broadcast everything they can from around the world to let all the NK citizens hear and see the reality of what is going on outside of the country.
toshiko
I don;'t know SONY is hacked or not. Now American knows about this picture. Before that people thought this is story about Computer maker. anyway'
news: Houston and Atlanta ares theaters will show this movie. Sony stated that it did not cancel It is ready for showing. A theater owner did not say if metal detecters are used. He just said his theater will show.
ReformedBasher
Only needs to be NK shaking, particularly for the "leadership" (term used loosely)
IF it wasn't self-imposed, I'd say it was a pretty good message.
For the remainder of the populace, I'd wonder how much time explaining what computers are, and what the internet is, would be necessary.

Why did it take an extra day for this story to be in the Japanese media? Apparently, Japan was afraid of being hacked, as reported in the story about how Japan is working to improve its security.
