I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but is anyone seriously surprised? I mean, seriously?

Well, when you are as loved, as good a leader and such a wonderful visionary as Kim Jong Un, what else could be the outcome. That, or the fact that a vote against him would surely invite a date with a bullet.

Any voter doing otherwise quickly becomes an ex-voter.

If the people of North Korea rose up, en masse and did something to help themselves, I'd have sympathy. But they do nothing. So, let them have what they want, which is: no change. You can't help people who don't want to help themselves.

I know these elections are a farce, and the numbers mean nothing. But still.

China is the big enabler too. Giving NK almost free reign to continue their stupidity.

If only our leaders could do so well.

When you have the threat of a labour camp, execution or your family being taken away and shot (or fed to dogs) what else is there to do? Fear and brainwashing are all par for the course in the Merry Old Land of Kim.

If there was any vote against him , I mean ANY , will anyone dare to report it?

Incredible the level of ignorance on some of the comments about North Korea! Maybe the interview of a North Korean soldier who thought everything was "cool" in his country, like arresting fellow North Korean for almost no reason. Being asked to "practice" his Tae Kwan Do skill on poor, feeble old men and women in the prison camps. While standing guard, seeing their own attack dogs escape and go and attack poor innocent North Korean school children who were on their way home and just happened to get attacked by these dogs! The dogs mauled these poor children so badly, and the guards who responsible were so scared of others finding out of this horrible incident, that these same guards, instead of trying to help the surviving children, did their best to BURY THE CHILDREN ALIVE!! The North Korean guard that up to now had thought everything was so "cool" did not think this was correct and DEFECTED and gave the SOUTH KOREAN news agencies his horrible experiences in North Korea. For his OWN protection has name, face, voice were not shown, you know just in case his victims from North Korea just happened to RECOGNIZE him walking around Seoul, etc...

The world's best hairdo. The world's highest golf score. The world's strongest economy. The world's most impressive standard of living. The world's most unified, united, petrified population.

What's not to vote against?

“This is an expression of all the service personnel and people’s absolute support and profound trust in supreme leader Kim Jong Un as they single-mindedly remain loyal to him,”

I'm sure the people trust if they don't vote for him and remain loyal to him, they'll be killed along with most of their family.

Said with crazy voice from the makers of South Park... "HA HA, I, your supreme leader Kim Jong Un have once again been voted the number one most popular in North Korea. I am so powerful leader and you all respect me by voting for me... MEEEEEEEEEE!"

Most ignorant post I have ever read, Probie. The voting is a mandatory duty and voting card has a voter's name on it. That's why the turn out rate is a 100% if you read carefully on this post. Voting under FEAR is not a democracy.

Global

Voting under FEAR is not a democracy.

Sure it is. A People's Democracy. ;)

Were there any other names on the ballot?

Funny how the North Korean leaders actually think this is a good thing...

Yeah, the Chinese and NK governments both seem to think their propaganda is accepted as fact by the rest of the world. Or maybe they don't care if it isn't.

Democratic People's Republic of Korea’s democratic voting system step by step.

Voters were sending to secret room before they have voting. In the room, they were shown two pictures one was Kim Jong-un and another one was hungry wild dogs. After that, they were asked by secret agent about whether they want to serve Kim Jong-un or feeding to hungry wild dogs. And then, they were told to feel free to vote and given marked voting card. Later declare, dear leader Kim Jong-un got 100% votes without single vote against him. However, voters went home with seeing Kim Jong-un head on hungry Wild dog body image inside their head.

From another Site......... Though results for the other seats in the assembly had not yet been announced, North Korea's media quickly reported Kim had won in his district — located on the symbolic Mount Paekdu — without a single dissenting ballot.

In the previous elections, 687 deputies were chosen. This is first time the election had been held since Kim inherited power after the death of his father, Kim Jong Il, in 2011.

"This is an expression of all the service personnel and people's absolute support and profound trust in supreme leader Kim Jong Un as they single-mindedly remain loyal to him," the state-run Korean Central News Agency said

Voters in the election have no choice who to vote for — there is only one candidate's name on the ballot for each district. Instead, they have the choice of voting YES or NO, and according to official accounts virtually all choose yes. North Korea also typically puts turnout nationwide at over 99 percent.

North Korea — With no one else on the ballot, state media reported Monday

Well, that's as far as I got before I broke-out into laughter!

When you have a gun to your head you know who you will have to vote for. Also, being brainwashed into believing that eating dirt and living in squalor is a good thing makes you vote for the fat guy in the nice threads.

But, when the people actually realize that their leaders are tyrants that's when the fat guy in the nice threads will hang by his toes. It always take a while before the people actually wake up.

Fear is a great control tool until the people lose their fear, then tyrants and bullies run for the hills.

If 100% of the people support Kim, why are there so many people in prison camps for opposing him?

I sympathize for the people who have lost their land, their families, their hope and self respect. I strikes deep that those who are so vocal and fervent in their condemnation of the Japanese past ... do not protest as hard to condemn the pure evil of their own kind... living next door.

This is direct evidence of the fact that all voters in North Korea are pro-life (as in preserving their own life).
