Here we go again...

Aside: I'm amused that the top ad on this page is wanting me to take a tour of NK and "Discover another world"

Ho ho ho, they are such funny guys. "Merciless" is a good word. It has been reported recently in the press that they use mentally-challenged children for testing weaponry etc., so nothing new I guess.

Creepy.

Gotten pretty desperate of late, haven't they?

North koreans defense strategy warns deadly blows.

Nothing new here, they says the same things many times, for last 6 decades.

Gee, NK can certainly "blow", can't they....

“unimaginably deadly blows” such as ones that do not exist right ?

NK has some great lines, but they scare nobody .

oh god how boring! Is that all they can do? Just repeat the same boring old stuff again and again. We all know that if/when the action really starts, they will be very quickly wiped off the world map. Good riddance!

NK reminds me of this fight video I saw once...this guy was doing flips, spins and one armed hand stands all over the ring, then he tried to cartwheel into his opponent who knocked him cold with a single punch...It was too funny! So let NK do all their cartwheels and fancy footwork, we all know how it will end if they cross the line even once...

I wish they could afford to hire someone to write their insults. Don't they realize that their threats are so stupidly worded that no one can take them seriously? Maybe the Chinese ought to clue them in that "we don't do that anymore".

Defense Minister Kin Yong Chun sounds like that former Iraqi Information Minister - "We will burn them in their tanks!"

Infantile. Go ahead DPRK... make your dreams come true.

North korea is 51st most populated nation, with 23 million people.

All world nations should help to bring peaceful progress for north koreans and koreas.

The woes is north korea's leaderships is fears, which are many.

North korea because of their isolation systems , has created high nationalism in north korea to defend itself after end of koreas war in 1950s.

There should be a way forward for north koreans given today's excellence in communications via various means like twitter on online web .

North korea knowledge enlightenment improvements needs more help from global knowledgeable people and rich people.

If world nations can help move progress for north korea in all fields,it will help a great deal.

The Magnox UK nuclear tech possessed by them, was in fact was via british tech help in energy. This was given to them via yongbyon Magnox nuclear power plant .

Many nations of world have nuclear plants, many of them also are capable of making nuclear weapons from them.

Chernobyl nuclear power plant, which was not a nuclear weapon, caused deadly blow too.

North korea woes should handled with delicacy.

Hmm. Rich people should help North Korea? And Twitter? Is that the gist RAJAKUMAR?

How about no? North Korea is systemically flawed. It has an addiction, and if there is advice I could give to anyone, it is that addicts have to help themselves. Giving them money is like throwing it down a hole.

In this particular case, I see an Amy Winehouse of a country screaming threats at a bunch of WWF wrestlers. There is no imminent beatdown, because after all, Amy is the maniac, but she is withering away and getting shrill.

South Korea is doing some launches of its own soon. As summer turns to autumn to winter, North Korean harvests will be coming in. It will be bad. DPRK leadership will have to choose guns or butter, just as other nations do. The threats ring more hollow now that DPRK has broken every deal with every country it must now negotiate with.

Deadly blows? I guess <sigh> North Korea has not hit rock bottom yet. It cannot change unless it wants to change.

It sounds like they want to beg for money and supplies in private. All those old ways of taking care of the under the table isn't happening with the Obama administration. It seems President Obama has pretty much ignored them. Which worries the nation because who will take care of them. Especially since succession will be handed over soon and the new leader can't look weak. The support of the people is the only reason they have continued to exist. Without direct talks the NK media can't spin it so the new leader took on the US imperialists and won. While in reality begging for aide for its people.

Farmboy,

It wouldn't have happened already for a variety of reasons. There are quite a few troublesome countries that could easily be wiped off the map but we don't do it. It usually has to do with it being a moral issue or an economic one. Which neither are of great importance when discussing NK. The fact something hasn't been done doesn't mean it is not possible.

It would be easier to defeat NK than it was to defeat Saddam. The region is closed off. They won't have allies from neighboring countries helping. The only major problem would be them wanting to hurt the surrounding countries out of spite. In all honesty, that can't really physically or financially harm the US. Hurting Japan, doesn't hurt America financially as it use to. If it attacked China then that would be a problem but they are not that crazy. China can also defend itself quite well.

NK has invested so much in the military that threats are the only solution they can afford. That's a dangerous situation. They know if they attack they will be wiped out. But they have to threaten to try to keep appeasment cash coming in as well as convince the generals and population that there is a real threat.'

In the meantime I doubt anybody is considering attacking NK. There's no compelling reason.
