Reunite under which government leadership and ideology? Under DPRK regime?
Ask South Korean people whether they would be willing to reunite and live under the leadership of DPRK regime.
And there are two particular countries who would never allow Korea to be reunited under democratic government and aligned with the U.S. by treaty.

Not sure that Japan is eager to see them reunite, while there is a very small chance of NK actually striking Japan there is more chance that Japan would suffer economically of united and powerful Korea. Considering the current animosity and strong competition by ROK united Korea would be more than Japan is hoping for. Besides for the Abe NK is a blessing, all excuses he need to militarise.

They should reunite. One can be president and one can be PM. Korea will boom. But a certain country would never allow peace.
