their devotion to build a socialist country “to be envied by the world,”

Raise your hand if you want your country to be like North Korea.

Anybody?

No?

"he received thunderous cheers from audience members and artists who praised him"

well he would do, if not they would be arrested with there families and tourchered or something worse.

“ushering in on this land a new world and a new era when the people’s ideals and happiness and desire for building a powerful country are comprehensively translated into reality."

There seems to be a lot of powerful drugs readily available in NK, some one has been taking them by this comment.

The concert sounds more like a Lunar New Year celebration you'd see in any country celebrating it, rather than anything directed at Kim.

Also what's with the obsession with his weight lately? I don't think I have ever seen media so obsessed with the weight of a political leader.

The cult of Kim was of course started by cult leaders Stalin and Mao, and has been bolstered by other cult leaders since. How have cults of personality benefitted the people they control or other people elsewhere. Yet today Fox Cable TV entertainers and others in the extreme right are pushing Hungary's Viktor Orban as a current cult leader to be revered by those favoring rigid state control and ultra-nationlism, i.e. fascism which is a disease that seems to have spread throughout former parts of the USSR. Fortunate for the world Hungary is no longer controlling an empire.

Finally I’ve found a positive reason for space exploration, manned spaceships, going to other planets and all such similar waste of money, time and resources, better to be used here on Earth and spent for Earth’s and peoples’ problems and needs. No, it finally makes at least sense in regards of having it all really and quickly at hand, if those crazy mind-washed people like in NK and other such similar dictatorship or communist regimes lead countries should ever gain a majority or enough power level to get any grip on this world we are still all bound to.

What about the attacks on the country IT infrastructure? if the government is so reliant in income derived from internet crime overseas this would be quite serious.

N Korean leader Kim attends concert glorifying his power

I went to one of these glorifying my power parties but nobody showed up. I ended up playing the kazoo to myself. It was pretty quiet.

....walking gingerly at a rainy construction site as a narrator said he showed his “motherly side"

Was this before or after they showed him blowing up his defense chief with anti-aircraft guns?

Perhaps just after showing him executing his uncle and showing his decapitated head lying on his chest?

No, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and his wife received a tsunami, rapacious, beyond deafening, earsplitting worship to a god.

This was a earthquake of love and affection.

Or else!

There is a saying about absolute power corrupting absolutely. This guy has nothing on Nero or Caligula.......or Putin or Xi.

By "new era of national power" I think they meant "newer era of national hunger."

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and his wife attended a Lunar New Year’s Day concert in Pyongyang where he received thunderous cheers from audience members and artists

Well, since anything less would detrimental to the health of the audience and artists, that is hardly a surprise. Expect no less for Xi Jipings speech at the Olympics.

inks?

The burden of proof is on the person making the claim, not the neutral position. Particularly for extraordinary claims, I don't need to show you proof that magical unicorns don't make the sun rise.

Especially when the claim is one of those absolutely ridiculous claims made by the NK defectors like Kim personally executing people with an anti aircraft gun, or that North Koreans push the train to work because they don't have power (instead of you know...walking).

Not that NK doesn't make questionable choices sometimes, but we don't need to make up even crazier things.
