A step forward, I'll say.

Hard to believe this is still the situation in New Zealand. It’s about time.
Andrew Crisp
American women have aborted more than 50 million babies since the Roe V Wade case of the 1970's and now have to import people to keep their population and economy chugging along, New Zealand hardly has a population, this legislation will introduce a speed up the population decline meaning the New Zealand will now have to resort to importing people.

I won't get into the correctness of these facts, but are you seriously advocating we should restrict women's rights just so we don't have to "import" people?

I find it ironic that feminists are pushing for unrestricted abortion, seeing that the result is a massive female infanticide. I.e. the massive male surplus in China and India is a result of selective abortion.

It's almost like women are more than disposable fetal incubation machines. Weird, huh?

So that means it will happen in NZ? Is your idea based on just 2 countries?

For those unfamiliar with logical fallacies, three are several here, starting with a straw man argument.

China and India have well-known cultural reasons for the male preference.
I'm pro-abortion, on-demand, for any reason. Nobody should be forced into having an unwanted child. After any abortion, I'd like to see a long-term contraceptive implant offered.
The USA is made up of very different views on abortion. Some states want to end it completely, but none of the people making those demands will step up and adopt the new babies being forced onto women who are too poor to travel to a different state where abortion is legal, with few restrictions until later in the pregnancy.

Given how your logic seems to be flowing, your apparent desire to keep abortion criminalised is to help build the population through unwanted babies.
Given this, I presume that you would also require enforced abortion in countries that are suffering from excessive population growth?
After all, you would want to be consistent in your thinking, wouldn't you?

If a group of cells cannot survive on their own, they aren't viable any more than cutting off an arm or leg is a viable human. That's part of the reason why we call it "abortion."
The world needs fewer men telling women what they can and cannot do.
IMHO.

The pregnant women is the only one who gets to decide whether to have an abortion or not.
Everyone else can mind their own business.

The only deaths that abortion results in are those of the mothers who seek back street abortions in three countries where it is illegal.
