If its true "Rocket Man" must be truly throwing a tantrum - first the restart of the Missile program, now the blame game and all North Korea had to do is give up the nukes, allow international inspectors in to confirm and the sanctions would end.

.

Isn't this execution ordered by the same Leader, Kim Jong Un, whom Trump has been fawning over saying he's such a "great" guy !?

.

18 ( +21 / -3 )

"Way to go Kim!", thumbs up from the big T.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

Guess I won't be sending in my resume to this fun filled govt. agency.

13 ( +14 / -1 )

I want to see Trump keep up the praise for his second "bromance" buddy Kim!

10 ( +12 / -2 )

So if things get worse in Mexico financially, won’t we get more immigrants and fewer avocados?

0 ( +6 / -6 )

Kim Jong Un is not a "great" guy. Never was, never will be.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

I guess Trump won't be following his little rocket man friend. Just when I thought we might be getting somewhere with Kim Jong Un. So where is the Trump outrage?

There was no reaction from Trump and the WH went Saudi last month beheaded 37 Shia Muslims.

12 ( +13 / -1 )

Sounds like the kind of friends you want...

Quote: "*Kim Hyok Chol was executed at Mirim Airport in Pyongyang, along with four foreign ministry executives*"

DPRK does not have a great track record at following humane procedures. I wonder how they executed them?

8 ( +8 / -0 )

This probably indicates that any agreement that is made with North Korea in the near future is worthless. With a system that kills citizens at the leaders whim, without fair trials, on made up charges.

That does not mean efforts to denuclearize North Korea should stop. It just means dont be taken in by words. Only actions of handing over all nukes and materials can be trusted.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

DPRK does not have a great track record at following humane procedures. I wonder how they executed them?

I hate to even think...but if it really did happen, and at the airport as well..I imagine it involved the DPRK airforce.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

The Chosun Ilbo and other conservative ROK media are notorious for printing false rumors to tar the North-

[ Previous reports in South Korea media about senior North Korean officials being executed have proven false. ]

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-05-30/north-korea-envoy-executed-over-trump-kim-summit-chosun-reports?fbclid=IwAR03GMnWPI24lakfhn7c8WoBikDKPDLcKlLP3nWCY-LIKzb6HRV5Bd_SbP8

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Well, this is the article for what it is worth. They are said to have been 'shot' at the airport.

http://english.chosun.com/site/data/html_dir/2019/05/31/2019053101126.html

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Yep that article is typical hyperbole as in the false story about how an official was fed alive to dogs, or that everyone was forced to cut their hair the same as Kim Jong-un.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

And a follow-up article with some political speculation added, suggesting that if the rumors are true that might explain why no hint of further negotiations has come from the North recently.

http://english.chosun.com/site/data/html_dir/2019/05/31/2019053101574.html?related_all

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Being close to Kim is dangerous. You're better off just being a peasant. You'll live longer.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

.

@Legrande

if its 'hyperbole' - WHERE are those guys?

Oh, i know, they got sucked into a black hole.

.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

@semperfi

As Bloomberg reported, many of those reports have proven to be false.

If so, who cares where he is?

Here is an example-

[ North Korea's top official, who disappeared from the public eye for three months, reappeared in public, according to reports Friday from the communist country's state-run media.

He had not been seen in public since November, when his name did not appear on a list of attendees at a state funeral, sparking rumors that he might have been purged. ]

https://www.voanews.com/a/north-korean-official-reappears-after-three-month-absence/3148548.html

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

don't believe anything until it's proven

3 ( +6 / -3 )

With DPRK, it maybe wiser if you don't believe anything.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

It has been proven that the media has been guilty of spreading false rumors.

Buy in to the popular narrative, or seek out the truth (even if it happens to not be popular)?- Up to each individual's conception of what is more important in life.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Chosun Ilbo reported, citing an unidentified North Korean source.

In light of the previous reports of executions of individuals who later turned up I will take news stories based on "unidentified source reports " with a grain of salt ( as others have already pointed out ...SK media is not always reliable with these ).

1 ( +1 / -0 )

This latest outrage on the orders of the fatboy fratricide is clearly not helping at all to get Trump his coveted Nobel. Kim's bad karma is surely going to get badder so the hail-fellow-well-met Chump would be well advised to put more distance between himself and his paranoid Pyongyang bro.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Jesus wept! Killing politicians because things didn't go as planned? FFS... if we did that here half of the Westminster MPs would be up against the wall, blindfold, last ciggie... Kim really is insane.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

@Thunderbird2

Read through the comments before jumping to such conclusions.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

If its true "Rocket Man" must be truly throwing a tantrum - first the restart of the Missile program, now the blame game and all North Korea had to do is give up the nukes, allow international inspectors in to confirm and the sanctions would end.

Wow! This is crazy, but he must be fuming, can’t get those sanctions off and instead of blaming himself, he executes again someone that displeased him, real Medieval stuff. I think this was a warning to his cabinet, next negotiation, don’t disappoint me or else.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Of course it could all be part of a fiendishly clever plan.

Viz. "Float a rumour. Watch who passes it on, and subsequently arrest them. Get the south to publish it in a 'reputable' newspaper. Watch the world pick up on it. Heehehehe........... Wait, wait, wait, Now! Release photos showing the offending parties rehabilitated. Laugh at said S.K. news outlet and everyone else for publishing false rumours. Chuckle all the way to bed." End of.

Repeat as necessary.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

bum headline should at least say it is rumored.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

It only takes a rumour for the hate Trump mob to lick their lips and start posting.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

I made an interpretation mistake on a large numerical figure once but was only chastised.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Laguna, sorry to hear, which bit did they chop off in the chastisement? :)

The reason the rumour is accepted so easily is because it fits in so well with the previous behaviour of the fratricidal fat boy.

Agreed good reporting should indicate this is as yet unproved (but it is hard to get clear, evidenced information from North Paranoid Korea) but whether it is true or not it serves to remind us of the true nature of that vicious regime and its proclivity to lie without qualm, and to treat it accordingly.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

This is insane to say the least. And donny boy says he is on par with this nk nut job. Things are getting worse every day. Makes me want to put a bullet in my head.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Who the heck are those posters trying desperately to defend NK? All those testimonies made by NK defectors are making rumor? Kim regime treats lives of citizen like stepping on worms.

When do these people wake up?

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Didn’t little rocket man supposedly execute someone a few years ago? Turned out he was still walking around.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

And this is what stupid humanitarians call " sovereign nation" to be respected Japan is trying to rescue the abductees.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

"Kim wrote me letters and we fell in love."

Donald Trump

Trump's such a moron.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Donnie's second best buddy (Putin will always be first) shows what a real criminal he is - just like when he had his uncle executed and sent the team of assassins to murder his half-brother in Malaysia.

Kimmie calls Donnie:

Kim: Donnie how are you? I'm doing really well - I just finished my favorite pastime - executing relatives and high officials...

Donnie: Really, you can do that? Can you teach me? I have some Congressmen and a few FBI officials I'd like to do that to. All I can do is make up stupid playground nick-names for them...

Kim: You bet - I'll send a team of my best folks over...

Donnie: Thank you Kimmie - with your and Vlad's help, we'll make America more like North Korea and Russia...and thanks for calling Biden Low IQ!

4 ( +4 / -0 )

And this is what stupid humanitarians call " sovereign nation" to be respected Japan is trying to rescue the abductees.

Mind expressing this I'm a way that we can understand?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

You can bet Trump would love to send Mueller, Pelosi and some others over to NK to be finished off.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

After the performance review he really was terminated.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Mind expressing this I'm a way that we can understand?

And this is what stupid and hypocritical humanitarians call " sovereign nation" Japan has been dealing with to rescue the abductees. In short, Kim's regime should be crashed by Int'l community even tomorrow.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Why does Trump love this communist dictator so much?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Trump and Un, two peas in a pod.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

.

@ LegrandeToday  : It has been proven that the media has been guilty of spreading false rumors.

.

Ysaright wise boy. You convinced me.

Now tell that to the Otto Warmbier family.

.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

@Andre Crisp

all North Korea had to do is give up the nukes, allow international inspectors in to confirm and the sanctions would end.

And who guarantees Kim regime's security afterward?

The issue at hand for Kim is that he faces an insanely powerful military called the ROK Army, which has more firepower than the Imperial Japanese Army of 1941, and the only foreign military in the world given the wartime command of US troops.

Faced with an army down south that could sack Pyongyang in a week if wanted to, Kim's only deterrent for invasion is the nukes. This is why Kim is so obsessed with nukes, because only nukes will guarantee his regime's survival.

What is puzzling is why the Korean Public does not take the little Wizzle Kim out and hang him?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

@canadianbento

What is puzzling is why the Korean Public does not take the little Wizzle Kim out and hang him?

What is more puzzling is why the Korean Public does not vote him out of office.

@semperfi

Read up on what he did to get the attention of North Korean officials.

Unfortunately he made himself a target.

Regarding media reports that his teeth had been knocked out, bones broken, etc., the doctor who examined his body discounted those assessments.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

.

@Legrande -Try doing some research.

Purges and execution are part of the NK states modus operandi.

** And YOU know this - HOW ???**?

"...Unfortunately he made himself a target."

** Oh - and this justifies torturing and mutilating** a person.

Whether or not this particular story is accurate, there's no question that Kim Jong Un's North Korea is among the very worst human rights violators in the World - or that, rather than finding that fact to be disturbing, the current President of the United States admires Kim's "toughness."

History will not be kind to us.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Whew - who the heck would want those jobs... even if it does mean you get a full bowl of rice instead of a half-bowl every week.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Hard to know it this is true.

But so often these reports have turned out to be, dare I say it, fake news. The most (in)famous of these was the alleged death of singer Hyon Song-wol. In 2013, the same South Korean newspaper announced that she had been shot in a "hail of machine gun fire while members of her orchestra looked on". Last year, Hyon Song-wol swept into Seoul leading a visiting North Korean delegation ahead of the Winter Olympics looking rather glamorous in a fur coat and very much alive. She is now one of the most powerful women in North Korea.

One thing for sure, it reflects very badly on Trump.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Just when Trump had praised the NK dicktator on the Memorial Day!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

As he is supposed to be a genius, surely the responsibility for the failure of the talks lies entirely with the Fat Controller.
