Ohh no! This makes me so sad. Rest in Peace, Mr. Nielsen. My favorite movie of his is still "Dracula: Dead and Loving It", though I know it's seen as pretty lame. My condolences to his family.

A great loss to the entertainment industry, but at 84 and with the life he lead I'd say it was a pretty good run.

Airplane, which I first saw as a kid, was utterly hilarious, and Nielsen was awesome with his deadpan expression. RIP.

Ted Striker: Surely you can't be serious. Rumack: I am serious... and don't call me Shirley.

Elaine Dickinson: A hospital? What is it? Rumack: It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now.

but someone needs to work on their math skill..' 6 foot 2 inch or 74 inches is not 2.3 meters... more like 1.88 meters

You know, he was way up there in years, it just did not show because of his tan and white hair. It occurs to me that I own more of his serious movies than his comedies. He as a good looking guy, but he never would have made his mark as a dramatic actor. Kind of like Lorne Greene, he would have just faded away.

But for those 70s and 80s comedies, he was just perfect. He did the serious broad-shouldered stuff for so long that the straight-man delivery was just natural for him... and devastating.

Another good one bites the dust.

R.I.P. Mr. Nielson.

President Bush: Frank, please consider filling a post I'm creating. It may mean long hours and dangerous nights, surrounded by some of the scummiest elements in our society.

Frank: You want me to be in your cabinet?

If it weren't for him I'd be back on the circuit riding motocross.

I thought he would never become really old.

This guy was a comedic genius. RIP, Mr. Nielsen. That line about his father arresting somebody in the winter had me in stitches.

RIP Mr.Nielsen and thanks for ALL the side-splitting laughs. He's gone to that great comedy club in the sky where all the jokes are funny, and one never gets booed off the stage. :D
