I'll look for the moon the next clear night.

I watched them walk on the moon. It's sad mankind hasn't been back since Apollo. Especially sad for Neil Armstrong to pass having seen us stuck in low earth orbit this past 40 years. One day we will return.

Next time when I look up, I will give a big wink at moon, just as his family requested.

I still can remember staying up to see the first moon walk on our living room tv. Cool stuff to watch. RIP to a great american aviator.

I have always very much admired the difficult and path breaking accomplishments of Armstrong and the other test pilots and astronauts of his day. The fact that he avoided the limelight and did not seek to cash in on his celebrity status has been noteworthy and commendable in my opinion. His modesty and reserve has made him an even bigger man. Although there were endless opportunities to for him to place himself in the public eye, he did so only sparingly. First man on the moon - that's really an amazing feat. Yet he understood that his accomplishment was the work of thousands and was a national achievement. He was an American hero and symbol of a nation at the pinnacle of it's greatness.

I remember watching it on tv, then running outside to look at the moon and being amazed to think there were people up there. Seemed unbelievable. Mr. Armstrong was a humble and honorable man. Rest in Peace.

'Summer of '69 was incredible.

First, the moon landing... A month later, the 3 day festival of peace, and music; "Woodstock", in Bethel, NY.

I will always remember that extraordinary time- where I was, who I was with...

Mr. Armstrong's words "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" were so inspiring!

A true hero for me. I'm glad to see good things being said of him on JT.

As a space buff, I am feeling pretty bummed today. A fantastic aviator, from his X-plane days, to a cool calm astronaut, to a humble man in post Apollo life. A true legend has passed. In the words of the well known urban myth attributed to him "Good luck Mr Gorsky" - Good Luck Mr Armstrong - godspeed.

RIP to such a great man who took space exploration to a entire new level. One can only imagine the feelings we had when he stepped foot onto the moon and looked at earth.

It takes guts to do what Armstrong did and what all astronauts do. I'm glad I had the chance to shake this man's hand.

For all mankind. RIP

We should also thank the conspiracy wackos who even today go around asserting that Armstrong never actually landed on the moon, and that the whole thing was a fraud, filmed on a Hollywood movie lot. In 2002 Armstrong's Apollo crewmate Buzz Aldrin righteously punched out a faux journalist in Beverly Hills who confronted him over the alleged fabrication. The police sagaciously refused to file any charges. This is great entertainment.

Expressing that which is in us all to an extreme. An absolutely amazing example of our spirit, hopes, dreams and fearless detemination. A giant. Good speed Mr Neil Armstrong.

Virtuoso, thanks for mentioning the fabrication. I already thought nobody would mention this on here ;)

A great American. We don't produce many like Neil Armstrong anymore.

To think, some people still refuse to believe man has been to the moon. R.I.P.

It's all because of that awesome movie Capricorn 1! :)

RIP, Mr. Armstrong. It's funny because last night I was staring at the half moon for longer than normal and feeling a little sad. The man lived in a time and helped create the idea that miracles can and do occur. Perhaps in his death some of that will come back to us, because I think we all need it.

Let us not ever forget the three heroes who died in the Apollo 1 fire in 1967. I was 15 then.
