And so now the years and years of giving Israel carte blanche to do as it pleases have proven to transform Israel into a spoiled and extremely arrogant child who thinks it can do as it pleases any time, anywhere. The US should cut funding and weapons shipments until Israel complies.

I think that the Americans are being incredibly naïve (again), neither the Palestinians nor the Israelis want to talk. They both want they want & talk has nothing to do with it. The simple minded usually fall into the trap of supporting the perceived “poor little victim” against the perceived “big bad bully” The real simplicity is that Israel wants its national security & that has never been offered, it has always had to be fought for. A large section of the Arab & Persian world have been pumping money & weapons to the Palestinians making some people at the top very rich & very reluctant to end the profitable hostilities. Why should the international community expect & even try to demand that Israel trust these people to make & keep a deal when no one else in the world would? When the Palestinians give up their love affair with killing & accept that Israel does exist & has a right to exist then they can start talking about the eastern sector of Jerusalem. The Israelis need to play the propaganda game better, the Palestinians are so good at it & always manage to sucker in the gullible. The day we all need to watch for & fear is the day Israel falls to the Arabs, because that is the day before Europe crumbles. The Palestinians may be denied rights, they may be badly done to, but they have brought that on themselves by allowing themselves to used & they are now pawns in a much bigger game. Support them at the expense of your children’s future. Ugly & unfair? Perhaps, but so was 9-11, so was Madrid, so was London, so was………You need to stop being so gullible to Palestinian propaganda & look at the bigger long term picture. In case you are referring to something being dropped into MY 'hear', I'll set the record straight once again (since you guys never listen): I'm not anti-Israeli one little bit. I'm anti "Let's give the Israeli government unlimited funds and resources to make war without being held accountable". Big difference, though of course people who lump all Muslims into one group while failing to see the difference between the Israeli government and all Israelis can't be expected to understand that things are not so black and white.

Anyway, while the world's largest ghetto remains where it is, with people starving to death and what not, keep on saying the Israeli government and military, unwilling to even discuss the issue of settlements without saying they're 'indisputable', are the victims.

The entire Muslim Arab world is a ghetto. Have you checked out Sudan and Somalia lately? Why would you expect anything different from the Muslim Arabs who call themselves "Palestinians"? And what's happened to the billions of dollars in aid the "Palestinians" have received and continue to receive from the US, Europe, and other countries around the world? They are one of the world's leading per capita recipients of foreign aid.

Israel we thye US taxpayer are your paymasters and ultimately your protectors. JUst because we now have a lame duck president does not give you permission to go against our wishes.

If Israel is prepared to simply ignore a request from its most hardened supporter, then do you seriously believe they would concede anything to the Palestinian. Israel is a recalcitrant state.

And what unknown is it you think I am in fear of? As for being anti-Muslim, no, not anti-Muslim, anti the so-called religion that accepts killing as an integral part of its teachings. A religion of backwardness that believes it has a god given right to hold civilization back.

smithinjapan: I agree with you. I can't help but to think that Israel don't really want to resolve this issue of the Palestinians. They see it as a more lucrative venture than the option of peace. To discuss real peace with the Palestinian and to achieve it would mean a cessation of the billions of dollars in American aid. Don't forget that these are people who continued to sell arms to apartheid South African under condemnation from the world community. It is financially not in Israel's interest to genuinely pursue peace and as such they will not do it. I suspect that Obama's ethnicity may have something to do with Israel's further march into this recalcitrant position.

That Israeli Prime minister is a nast man, what ghastly things to say. I was tzalking to my Jewish neighbour yesterday and he agreed that Israel are out of control because America has for decades given them premission to commit genocide after genocide and build illegal settlements.

I am old enough to remember resolution 242. By golly Nato should have enforced it!!! Israel, bah!!! Nasty little country.

I agree. He really stirred things up the first time he was Prime Minister. There was a vastly, greater, harmonious relationship before he spread fear and hate so many years ago from the present. Fortunately he is simply not allowed to get away with it now. He is too afraid to fight about the West Bank for fear of his own isolation. But that does not stop him from his old ways of being an instigator. However I don't agree that Israel is a nasty little country. I doubt many Israelis want all the Palestinians or any other Arabs out of Jerusalem.

My sole desire is for peace. I must admit that I would love to see those who disavow any decency in Arabs and Palestinians to eat their hat (that would be the nice way of putting what they should eat). I do however see problems with both sides. It is a momentous task to achieve peace but it is by no means impossible.
