Oh, one more point, your link shows another folly that is sadly but closely linked to the reason rational people cannot seize the day and find peace. People seem to be under the completely incorrect thinking that pre-1967 that Palestinians controlled the areas referred to as the West Bank and the Gaza Strip when the absolutely did not control those areas. They were completely controlled by Jordan and Egypt. As clearly mentioned above, Palestinians of Jordanian descent are having their citizenships revoked even though they represent over 70% of the population in Jordan. So, it seems that they won't even get to keep the citizenships given to them when Jordan 'borrowed' their land...

You mean returning stolen land and putting an end to a viscous occupation.

No, I mean what I wrote. Your solution is the same silliness that brought about the wars in Iraq and Lebanon and many other wars. The only solution is a two state solution. This is the only sensible solution available, which of course explains why you do not understand it.

The map shows exactly what the msm and people like you do not want the public to know.

Please don't be ridiculous. One, the maps you linked show nothing new. In fact, they don't even mention Gaza being given back to the PA. Two, the only and I mean ONLY reason you linked that useless map, which one can google or find on Wiki in a split second, is because you seem to think it will promote some Christian boycott of Israel.

You consistently offer nothing in the way of a realistic, true solution to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. Of course the reason for this is that you are clearly bias against the Jewish faith. One only need to witness your quoting a Jewish scripture as some sort of proof as to why you feel Israel today is wrong. Sorry, anyone sensible and rational can see through this quite thinly veiled attempt at painting an entire faith masquerading as comments against a single country.

>It makes me laugh because it is extremely naive to think that destroying ANOTHER country in the Middle East will do anything but make things worse.

Glad that makes you laugh, but Libertas just provided the best, easiest, and fairest solution to this entire mess.

It makes me laugh because it is extremely naive to think that destroying ANOTHER country in the Middle East will do anything but make things worse. It certainly would do nothing for the problems in countries such as Saudi Arabia, Iraq or 'other Arab lands'...

Your map website is pointless to today's convesation about the Middle East. It completely ignores the realities of problems such as what is going on with the Palestinian citizens of Jordan and the FACT that their citizenship is being revoked. Not too suprised though...you always have had trouble with reality.

Dismantle "israel" and remove US bases off Saudi, Iraqi and other Arab lands, and you'd achieve regional peace overnight. LOL! You really have no idea what you are talking about! Thanks for demonstrating that!

Anyway, the map shown here helps explain the Palestinian problem: http://www.presbyteriandivestment.org/?page_id=6

Clarification:

Now Palestine is roughfully the area called the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Libertas,

Israel would be "taking in" nobody. "israel" IS their homeland, and it's called Palestine.

Ummm...Now Palestine is roughfully the area called the West Bank. However, it was originally an area that consisted mostly of what is called Israel and Jordan now. Interesting you fail completely to notice that or the situation that is happening in Jordan against Palestinian Jordanian CITIZENS in their very own country. How many Israeli Arabs have had their citizenship removed by Israel? Also, before you bleat on and on about Israel and how they have treated their citizens, maybe you ought to check out what your country did to its original citizens first.

Dismantle "israel" and remove US bases off Saudi, Iraqi and other Arab lands, and you'd achieve regional peace overnight.

LOL! You really have no idea what you are talking about! Thanks for demonstrating that!

"Every time anyone says that Israel is our only friend in the Middle East, I can't help but think that before Israel, we had no enemies in the Middle East." -- John Sheehan, S.J. (US Jesuit priest)

I guess its Israel's job to take them in also right?

Israel would be "taking in" nobody. "israel" IS their homeland, and it's called Palestine. It would simply be recognizing that fact, which of course, Bibi would never do!

Dismantle "israel" and remove US bases off Saudi, Iraqi and other Arab lands, and you'd achieve regional peace overnight. It really is that simple. "I am for free commerce with all nations, political connection with none, and little or no diplomatic establishment. And I am not for linking ourselves by new treaties with the quarrels of Europe (or others,) entering that field of slaughter to preserve their balance, or joining in the confederacy of Kings to war against the principles of liberty." Thomas Jefferson to Elbridge Gerry, 1799. ME 10:77Now there's a guy who got it right.

The only "ghetto" people care about is Gaza. The Palestinian ghettos in Arab countries are ignored since they can't be used against Israel.

of any of the three major religions in the Middle East...

hworta269,

You are not joking. 'Jordanian authorities have started revoking the citizenship of thousands of Palestinians living in Jordan to avoid a situation in which they would be "resettled" permanently in the kingdom, Jordanian and Palestinian officials revealed on Monday.' I wonder if we will hear any complaints about this in addition to (at times) deserved complaints about Israel...

The US must understand that they are not following a peaceful protocol.

Please...open up the holy books of any of the three religions and there you will find unsavory writings amongst the words of wisdom that can be found. They have nothing to do with this conflict. I know you would again love to blame the Jewish faith for this conflict completely as you seem to blame them for pretty much everything. However, again, you are wrong to do so.

Jordon made Palestenians a stateless people not Israel or the west. Jordon is revoking citizenship for a butload more Palestenians as we speak I guess its Israel's job to take them in also right?

The US should just cut off aid

"To obtain this large inheritance and possession, cannot be done except by fighting, as it is written, Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel." Psalm ii. 9.

I can't imagine the Arabs will ever get Jerusalem back. I can see the Israelis going back to the 1967 borders, but not including Jerusalem in anything.

Israel's idea of 'understanding' seems to be that you simply nod your head when they demand something. Or perhaps they say it best themselves, when they say they want you to understand:

“What has to be made crystal clear is that there’s no talk, no discussion, no negotiation over Jerusalem or what we do within the city,”

That's not called be 'open', my friends, it's called barring shut the doors.

That's funny, we'd like to have an 'understanding' with Israel as well.

While recognizing the right of the State of Israel to exist, isn't it time that something be done to solve the Palestinian problem (everybody runs for cover). Where are those countries that helped create the state of Israel and thus made the Palestinians a stateless people? Come out of the woodwork you clowns and help fix up the mess you created. Don't know what I am talking about? Just take a drive out to Gaza (that shxthole on the other side of the fence) and see the paradise that the Palestinians live in. Geez, for a lot of smart people, you have certainly stuffed this one up.

Also Sunday, around 40 Jewish hard-liners marched through an Israeli Arab town in a provocative move drawing hundreds of Arab counter-protestors.

The marchers included a Jewish lawmaker from an ultranationalist religious party. They said they wanted to highlight illegal construction by Arabs as a counterweight to criticism of illegal Jewish construction in West Bank settlements. An Israeli court ruled that the marchers’ right to protest was protected by law.

When hardliners take control of any nation what usually follows is violence.

I hope that all parties involved wake up before this dream of hope for peace turns into more of a nightmare.

Over the years, so far, Israel has shown an incredible amount of restraint. I hope they can continue to do so.
