The U.S. needs to dispense with the political correctness crap and discuss racial issues openly and freely.

You are saying Angle and O'Donnell are 'much smarter' than their opponents?

The discussion about a smart conservative woman will get you nowhere as she does not exist. I once had a woman professor at FSU who had THREE Ph.Ds. At least Obama graduated from the law school, of what, Yale? That is smart. And he was the editor of the law journal.

(mostly because of Republican filibustering, I might add, and the massive deficit brought on by GWB who had a major surplus).

200 billion surplus isn't really massive compared to a $2.2 trillion budget at that time. Besides up until his final year of 2008, the US only had around $150 billion dollar deficit, which is quite small and when you factor in that if the US didn't have the Iraq war the US would have had a balanced budget those years.

Oh, my. Harry Reid is taking credit for personally averting an economic meltdown and depression that would have impacted the entire planet. What a loon.

“So people have been hurting and I understand that, and it doesn’t given them comfort or solace for me to tell them, you know, but for me, we’d be in a world-wide depression”

Molenir, you're wrong on 2 counts. 1/ Despite your desperately lame attempt to find smoke when there's no fire, liberals are not singularly calling out female conservative candidates; they are calling out any conservative candidate who talks rubbish. 2/ You are saying Angle and O'Donnell are 'much smarter' than their opponents? Care to bother us with some - any - facts to back that up?

To answer your rather silly question, I ask you to simply name me a conservative female candidate not referred to in derogatory terms by the left wing loons. And in point 2, did you bother to watch the debate between Dirty Harry and Angle? Angle blew him away. She made him seem foolish. And yet people like you are still calling her an idiot? This merely makes you seem like the stupid one. The same thing is true with the Coons/O'Donnel debate. O'Donnel was sharp, Coons well, he simply wasn't. Don't take my word for it, go watch the debate yourself. I particularly enjoyed the Reid debate btw.

Even if Dems today came up with nothing new for the next five years, you are saying that the outcome would be worse than the Tea Party plan to slash social security, health care for everybody, job benefits and oh... half of the federal government?

If they managed all that I may actually start to like them. I doubt they'd be that effective though, more likely that they'll just do what republicans and democrats do best, complain about the other party getting in their way rather than doing anything productive. Plus, SS and health care are going to need cutbacks anyway. Job benefits are, and should be, up to employers. And the federal government already has too many redundant employee's as it is, they could probably cut thousands of jobs without a substantial impact in performance (especially from the SEC) if they would start hiring more competent employees or actually making them work for benefits and raises.

So, in essence, what we've got here is a bunch of conservative voters who can't be bothered to think, and a bunch of conservative candidates who can't be bothered to come up with any serious ideas - let alone policies - to fix the economy. It's a recipe for disaster and conservatives are loving it!

I love the way that liberals all think they are just so damned smart and clever. And you guys always suggest that for some reason (in your mind) conservatives want and promote economic and societal collapse and disaster. It wouldn't occur to you of course that in such a situation even the supposed 'evil, wealthy conservatives' would suffer equally with their fellow countrymen would this be the case. If the great stimulus package and health care solutions are an indication of the liberal answer, well then your comments about unthinking should be self-directed.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

you are saying that the outcome would be worse than the Tea Party plan to slash social security, health care for everybody, job benefits and oh... half of the federal government?

I said equally as horrible, unless the democrats bring government spending under control, programs would have to eventually be cut becuase taxes can only go so high (Tax and Spend). The Republicans cutting taxes and then filling in the gaps with massive increases in debt, will cause the same end result, programs having to be cut, to cover the interest payments (Buy now, pay later). If partisan politics(particularly their followers) didn't force there parties further left and right, then the parties could combined the best of both worlds.

I posted this response to another JT article in which I was told to basically keep my nose out of USA politics as I am not "American", as it seems very appropriate for this article to here it is with a few changes:

It always amazes me when "Americans" tell other how to act but of course "don't do as we do"!

Reading for some time JT posts it seems "Americans" (read Right wing ) enjoy telling Japan and the rest how things should be done but god forbid they tell the USA what they think!

This is the "A" typical Right wing response to anyone that does not agree with them "Shut up" and if that person does happen to be "American" then its "Shut up you "leftist" (insert Hispanic, naturalized citizen of non white origin) you are un-american and BTW don't vote"!

It is more often then not the "Americans" themselves ( Right wing) that create the situation where another country like Canada, France and even the UK end up having to say something due to their misrepresentation, lies, and fear mongering about those countries especially during election campaigns.

If the Republican party and its new bedfellow the Tea party had any real plans and substance in their parties platform they wouldn't need to find a bogeyman as they have recently with Canada and rehashing long debunked lies prompting the Canadian Ambassador to again set the record strait but knowing USA politics of the right they will do it again and again.

@Molenir

Anyone else notice how the loons always refer to conservative women as idiots?

They are idiots. Not because they're women. Because they're conservatives.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

She is one reason why MSNBC is in the crapper.

Does this mean people in the US don't like to watch intelligent people making intelligent points on TV? She is so much better at her job than those faux-news pretty faces, it's not even a joke...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Anyone else notice how the loons always refer to conservative women as idiots? Is there an intelligent conservative women anywhere? Not according to the libs.

Where is IdiotKiller when we need him/her???

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Molenir: "Anyone else notice how the loons always refer to conservative women as idiots?"

And you earlier called ME (and others) a loon? Bro, no one on here "always" refers to conservative women as idiots. palin? O'Donnell? Angle? Absolutely people (not loons... I'm actually surprised the mods let your 'inflammatory' posts stay on when others who write the same thing have theirs taken off. Go figure)! because they ARE idiots! Don't try to stretch that into some 'therefore you hate all conservative women' argument, because it just isn't true and doesn't fly.

TimRussert: "Why does Molenir have to prove this?"

Because he made the accusation. Simple as that. He also, as I just pointed out above, wrongly stated that 'the loons' always say women conservatives are idiots. So, if he states it so matter of factly, it's up to him to back it up, not just make baseless accusations without any proof. But I guess that's the nature of Republicans.

MisterCreosote: "This will hit 100 posts and we still wont see a single Democrat or foreign supporter of the Dems come here with any substantive reasons or examples of why Americans in Nevada should support Angle's opponent, Harry Reid."

Worse yet, in all the GOP supporters rampant attempts to deflect the topic of the article and blame the Democrats for everything under the sun, we have yet to see a single one of you guys give a reason for supporting Angle -- aside from her not being Reid, of course -- or state any of her policies. ZING!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Not sure if anybody has already pointed this out, but did it not occur to anybody that this might backfire. If anybody, or any dodgy corporate funded "citizen's" group, told me not to vote, I would vote AGAINST them, regardless of politics or if I had planned to vote in the first place. I would bet a few people in Nevada had the same reaction.

Also the 1999 case, the Algerian guy was arrested at the Port Angeles ferry dock in Washington state by American customs because he had the explosives in the trunk of the car. I'll say that again, HE HAD THE EXPLOSIVES IN THE TRUNK OF THE CAR!!! Gee, you really think any terrorist is going to be stupid enough to do that again. They will simply enter the country legally, either through Canada or Mexico (not yet done I believe) or by a direct flight (as was done successfully) and make their preparations inside the country. Just another wacko soundbite about stuff that has never happened.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

You are saying Angle and O'Donnell are 'much smarter' than their opponents? Care to bother us with some - any - facts to back that up?

Why does Molenir have to prove this?

How does one 'prove' what is best for Americans to someone to who isn't American?

Why don't you do the search yourself . Seems to many of us here you are only out to wind up American 'conservatives'. 90 percent of your posts are directed at them. It is strange.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I really hate myself for this but it looks like I am going to be the on to invoke "Godwin's law" here.

The USA should start looking very carefully at History.

The T- Party lead by conspiracist and nut cases like Glenn Beck, with their ultra right Christian views and their blame everything on "liberals",intellectuals, Gays, illegal immigrants and Muslims gaining power by being courted by the Republicans is very reminiscent of another time.

Now replace T with N, "liberals" with "Bolsheviks/Communist", intellectuals and Gays well they stays the same, illegal Immigrants with Gipsies, Muslims with Jews and replace Republicans with Catholic Centre Party (BVP) and what do you get?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Molenir, you're wrong on 2 counts. 1/ Despite your desperately lame attempt to find smoke when there's no fire, liberals are not singularly calling out female conservative candidates; they are calling out any conservative candidate who talks rubbish. 2/ You are saying Angle and O'Donnell are 'much smarter' than their opponents? 0 ( +0 / -0 )

All of you GOP supporters are forgetting a fact -- this woman wants to deny the people of Nevada their constitutional right to vote because they might not vote for her.

and the GOP even having to pull THEIR OWN ADD!!

Smith... Ordinarily I'd say, you're a smart guy. Obviously a left wing loon, hell I'd even call you a kool-aid drinker, but its hard to take you seriously when you post comments like these. Did you even read the article, or did you just hit the highlights? Allow me to sum things up for you.

Angle had nothing to do with the ad. It was put out by a hispanic group that nominally supports the Republicans, but doesn't like either candidate. They didn't pull the ad, rather the 2 spanish language channels refused to run it. This after the advertising had already been paid for. Angle when approached for comment, said she hopes everyone votes, and that they should vote for her. Essentially, everything you said, is completely undercut by the article above. Frankly, it makes you sound like an idiot. Please, read the article before you post.

Funny thing is, when intellectually-deficient, witchcraft-loving, anti-masturbation bozo candidate Christine O'Donnell spoke to conservative voters in her recent tv ad and said, 'I'm you,' she was right. :-)

Anyone else notice how the loons always refer to conservative women as idiots? Is there an intelligent conservative women anywhere? Not according to the libs. Hell, a woman could be a genius, but if she is conservative, they will do everything they can to make her seem stupid. Imagine how things would be, if conservatives referred to every liberal woman as an idiot. (Which all things considered, is closer to reality) I honestly don't know how intelligent O'Donnel and Angle are, but based on their debate performances, I have to same they're much smarter then their opponents. Which probably puts them well above the level of some posters here who are so desperate to denigrate them, they resort to childish name calling.

Funny. Now we are pround of RINOs are we? Show me a tea partier who is getting support from Hispanics. And hey. New Mexico? Good luck finding a voter or candidate who isn't hispanic. The fact that you need to reach speaks volumes.

I don't know anything about the candidates for Governor of New Mexico, but you're calling Rubio, a RINO? Really?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

As a nation, America is going down, and conservatives are doing everything they can to accelerate the decline. Just look at the bunch of crazies they are fronting up with. And their policies ...oops sorry, they don't have any policies. Are any conservatives raising red flags about this? No. Says everything. So, in essence, what we've got here is a bunch of conservative voters who can't be bothered to think, and a bunch of conservative candidates who can't be bothered to come up with any serious ideas - let alone policies - to fix the economy. It's a recipe for disaster and conservatives are loving it!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"Of course you can't prove Republicans policies are worse then Democrat policies, both parties policies are absolutely horrible."

Oh come on, really? Horrible? Is it really preferable to just gut spending? Is that really going to solve a problem? What problem? Even if Dems today came up with nothing new for the next five years, you are saying that the outcome would be worse than the Tea Party plan to slash social security, health care for everybody, job benefits and oh... half of the federal government? I hope I never have the "proof" to show you, but that "cut taxes cut spending" sounds really really dumb, even to a reasonably successful person. Even to Warren Buffett.

It is a slogan that GOP voters are buying, and it did not even makes sense to RReagan once he stopped to look at it in 1981. Prop 13 did not make sense in California. I will say again that it is just plain stupid. The GOP wants everyone to shake a fist and be angry, but when you step back and look at it, Dems are trying to build and improve, and the GOP wants to tear it all down out of ... spite... I guess.

As if reducing the amount of T-bonds owned by Chinese or anybody else will change anything. As if dumbing down political discourse is what we all needed. As if O'Donnell and Palin and Linda McMahon have the answers that have eluded the best minds of our time.

The criticism of Obama's administration is: "It didn't work." Really? And now... what? The GOP has one hammer in its toolbox and so every problem looks like a nail. Cutting government spending is going to solve every problem the US faces? How can anyone swallow that? And now that the message is not grabbing people, the new GOP message is to tell people not to vote. I guess that is another tool for the GOP toolbox.

Discouraging people from participating in an election is pretty classless and low. Exactly what I would expect from a republican.

The way Dems actively prevent our armed forces from voting doesnt bother you, why should mere wordsin an Angle campaign commercial, twisted by the Legacy Media, bother you?

"Sure, when you can't prove that Republican policies are worse than Democrat policies, just call 'em stupid, heh heh."

I don't know of any policies the GOP has. So I call someone running for Senate who has no idea about separation of church and state stupid. Someone who wants to beat up pay people with a baseball bat stupid. Someone who arrests or threatens reporters stupid. Etc. People who cannot get support from their own party are going to try to win votes from angry stupid people. I will be surprised if I see a "policy" come out of that.

The Christian Science Monitor plagiarized my posts last night. Everyone have a look.

What an absolute nutter this woman is. Is she the same one that said China is taking over the US?

Is a metaphoric 'takeover' really that far off the mark, given the amount of $$ owed by the US to China? I think it's an over-exaggeration, but certainly not deserved of the 'nutter' tag for that one. And we keep getting deeper in debt as we spend more to get us out of debt (scratching head). Go figure. I've tried that economic plan in my home - it doesn't work.

Discouraging people from participating in an election is pretty classless and low. Exactly what I would expect from a republican.

As opposed to the Dems encouraging people to vote based on race, class and age. 'You must vote for me because I'm black and so are you'. Huh? Wasn't there a recent report of young people being encouraged to vote, but no literature or information was provided on the conservative side of things? That's fair and just though, right? C'mon, politics are politics - each side tries to prey on the voters that they think they can sway to their side. You can make the indignant cry of fowl all you want, but both sides do it and always have.

I'm sure Reid is just the cultural diversity mainstay. Of course, my bet would be there isn't a Hispanic living within miles of any property he owns in Nevada. Funny how that always works.

Another HUGE mistake conservatives are making is thinking that in the current hyperpartisan climate, if a conservative candidate is ahead in the polls, they must be popular.

No, I think that perhaps it's more of a slap in the face to your own party; it means that the common American voter just isn't believing the hope and change party anymore, no matter how indignant it makes you to accept that fact.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Another HUGE mistake conservatives are making is thinking that in the current hyperpartisan climate, if a conservative candidate is ahead in the polls, they must be popular. Sarge thinks like this. Unfortunately for people like Sarge, that couldn't be further from the truth. Large protest votes happen in many 2 party democracies, and just because party A wins by a large majority or even by a landslide doesn't necessarily mean people want them. It just means people don't want the other guys. Not surprisingly, this is way too complicated for most conservative voters to understand, the majority of whom are getting really really super excited and fired up....about potentially voting in to power the biggest bunch of ignorant, semi-illiterate, eye-wateringly stupid conservative losers we've ever seen in U.S. politics.

As I said earlier - and it's worth repeating - the GOP simply does not have a credible plan to bring down the debt, bring the economy out of the recession they started, or solve any of the myriad of other problems they have been instrumental in creating. All the GOP, tea party, Sharron Angle, etc. have are a bunch of soundbites and an angry, go-nowhere agenda driven largely by extremist Right wing media personalities. And conservatives are absolutely loving it while the iceberg approaches on the starboard bow.

smithinjapan, sailwind isn't saying what the GOP is offering because they aren't offering anything. Two days ago, I asked sailwind, Molenir and TimRussert to state specific ways the GOP has said they will trim the deficit. All of the above posters - all, I'll admit - are pretty sharp - completely failed to provide any answers. To his credit, Molenir even came out and admitted he DID NOT KNOW how the GOP was going to reduce the deficit. They aren't saying because they aren't hearing. And it's the same across the board, everywhere. The GOP is offering nothing but soundbites. Conservatives are shooting themselves in the head not once but twice by 1/ saying nothing when conservative candidates come out with completely ridiculous statements (giving the strong impression that conservative voters, for example, agree with Sharron Angle that yes, terrorists are entering the U.S. through Canada or that Africa IS a country - because they sure as heck aren't denying it), and 2/ by actually believing all the soundbites, like, as I mentioned re: the above 3 posters who buy the 'we'll reduce the deficit!' spin even though neither they nor the candidates saying those words have any realistic clue whatsoever how to do it. That, my friend, is an entirely new level of idiocy and in this election cycle, conservatives are lining up to buy into the lies like lemmings line up to jump off the cliff. Unfortunately, the end result will be much the same.

Good_Jorb: "If they truely want to protest the lack of representation from either party, they should vote for a third person that represents the type of policies they want to see."

This is much like skipthesong said, and some others, and I agree. It's a shame that we're seeing this kind of dead-locked, two-parties-of-fools-politics in so many countries across the globe. The US is definitely the worst example of it, since the two main opposition parties in Japan are actually identical and often swap members. But still, no one can deny who the worser of the two evils are in this case. Asking your electorate not to vote??

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sure, when you can't prove that Republican policies are worse than Democrat policies, just call 'em stupid, heh heh.

Of course you can't prove Republicans policies are worse then Democrat policies, both parties policies are absolutely horrible. Both parties policies seem to be getting worse as both parties increasingly pander further to left or right. Partisan politics has caused political discourse to go drift to the left side of the IQ bell curve(closer to their more extreme supporters IQ reside).

An ad telling a large voting block not to vote is prime example of this. If they truely want to protest the lack of representation from either party, they should vote for a third person that represents the type of policies they want to see.

Head and shoulders above Faux News for telling the complete story.

talking2U: "He clearly implied the policies did not exist, as in "they have no plan"."

What I said was that not a single Republican supporter on here has been talking about Republican policies, and even very little about the gaffes and embarrassing comments this woman is making, which is what the thread is largely about -- and the GOP even having to pull THEIR OWN ADD!! HAHA! I went on to say that when they cannot rebut the statements made by other posters they are reduced to 'I can smell the desperation' or attacking the nationality of that poster.

Look at sailwind as a case in point: while he hasn't reduced the level of his argument to "you're not American you cannot possibly know" as some have and often do, his long comment above does not say a SINGLE THING about what the Republicans are offering to what he claims the Democrats have single-handedly done. Not one thing. And this is my response to saying this his 'reactionary response' in voting speaks volumes about Republican voters as a whole -- they'll vote anything that's not democratic, plain and simple, even if it's, as Klein points out matter-of-fact: "Sarge, if you really want to be proud of the whole witch/nazi/gay-lynching/ball-kicking thing, you go right ahead. I don't see how they are going to be able to solve the problems America faces."

Bang on, Klein... once again.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

sarge: "Heh, and yet she's neck and neck with or leading the Democrat bigwig Harry Reid in the polls."

Sooo... you're saying that makes her more intelligent and less insane than she is? Sorry, sarge, but that's not the case. Look at sarah palin -- one of the stupidest people to ever grace politics, and yet she has a large fan base. Or your former president who couldn't string together a single sentence correctly or speak coherently (need I direct you to the thousands of pages of bush quotations?) Birds of a feather flock together, my friend.

"Sure, when you can't prove that Republican policies are worse than Democrat policies, just call 'em stupid, heh heh."

Thanks for simply copying what I said about and trying to flip it. I told sailwind the same thing above and non of you guys can begin to talk about policies -- only talk about Dem policies.

All of you GOP supporters are forgetting a fact -- this woman wants to deny the people of Nevada their constitutional right to vote because they might not vote for her. This woman isn't really that far off from being a fascist to boot. Hell, if she gets the vote, maybe she'll find a way to enact legislation keeping "Asian lookin'" and other 'disagreeables' from voting and you can ensure Repubs stay in power. :)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sure, when you can't prove that Republican policies are worse than Democrat policies, just call 'em stupid, heh heh.

He clearly implied the policies did not exist, as in "they have no plan". He said the candidates are stupid. He might have implied their supporters are too, or were you doing that?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

sailwind: "Your average American right now is worried if he will have a job, be able to keep his home and the talk around his dinner table at night with his family is about cutting back on spending, paying down the credit cards and postponing any long term plans that things will get better anytime soon."

So, what you're saying is that voting this woman in -- a woman who wants to deny a large portion of the state their right to vote, who thinks Canada is a terrorist haven, and doesn't have a filter between her bird-brain and mouth, not to mention she knows nothing about the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq (or who backed the US and didn't) -- is going to suddenly cure all that? No, you prove my point, sailwind... you are acting simply on emotional response, and not at all saying where this woman or her lunatic ilk ("THE CHINESE ARE TAKING OVER!... oh... sorry... forgot to practice my witchcraft this morning!") are going to fix things. On the contrary, you should be sticking with the people trying to FIX the situation they inherited from the previous administration.

But nope... Republican logic -- vote anything against Democrat... regardless of what it is or represents. And of course when things get much, much worse under the regime who hope wins (if they were to win, of course), you'll still somehow pin it on the Democrats.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

the GOP candidates are just plain stupid" Of course they are, but so are the dems. I mean, come on peep, we got Obama not being able to say how many states we have, another dem who thinks Guam may capsize, and the list can go on and on Face it folks, we are doomed from both sides.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Gotta say one more thing. This is how far the GOP has come to a new low. Hispanics in California and Florida and Texas swept Reagan into the White House, and now all the GOP can think of doing with hispanic voters is to trick them into not voting.

I guess that is why Republican Marco Rubio is ahead in the polls by double digits in Florida for the Senate seat and Republican Susana Martinez is sitting pretty in her race as the next Governor of New Mexico.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I have a feeling the Dems are going to get whupped.

"the GOP candidates are just plain stupid"

Sure, when you can't prove that Republican policies are worse than Democrat policies, just call 'em stupid, heh heh.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I have a feeling that the Dems are going to do surprisingly well. Clip and save that. I might eat my words, who knows, but the GOP candidates are just plain stupid, so there will be gaffes and hubris. Who in their right mind can vote for O'Don now for instance? Or Paladino? They ran themselves off the cliff.

And either the media are liberal, or they aren't. If you believe the GOP, well. they are believing the liberal media and thinking they have momentum. But really, isn't putting Dems to sleep better for the GOP than getting them excited and panicky? In the end, Dems will wake up and vote, and they will win most of the races.

Or they won't, which will make for one heck of a Senate freak show.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"36 GOP candidates are African American. Obviously a great many are also women. Why does this trouble you?"

Wow. I think you are talking nationally, but you are including a lot of people running for dog catcher and county clerk, I betcha.

"ignorance and gross stupidity are the new conservative badges of honor."

Actually, your wonderful choice of words brings me vivid recollections of Dan Quayle, God bless, him, who started it all. Although, I must say, the GOP candidates have gone from spelling mistakes to reading children's books upside down to witchcraft and breathtaking ignorance (Del.), nazi uniforms (Ohio), gay bashing (New York), pro wrestling (Conn.), and whining (Colo.). As Sarge says, if these losers are really running close races, then they must be getting a lot of protest votes. These days, the GOP is happy to get any old vote it can.

Sarge, if you really want to be proud of the whole witch/nazi/gay-lynching/ball-kicking thing, you go right ahead. I don't see how they are going to be able to solve the problems America faces. They aren't even talking about trying. Their whole reason for being will be done by Nov. 5 after their first press conference, and they can then just quit while they are ahead and earn speaker fees.

As far as Nevada goes, well, this was bound to happen once the whole corridor from St. George Utah to Needles California got packed with escapees from Orange County and Provo Utah. From Disneyland to the Osmond Ranch, it is all one color and one creed these days. The Dems were going to lose Nevada to these lunatics one way or another. It is just the way it goes. If it goes. Even Las Vegas days are numbered. Miley Cyrus will be a regular there in a couple of years. And a Mickey Casino too.

Gotta say one more thing. This is how far the GOP has come to a new low. Hispanics in California and Florida and Texas swept Reagan into the White House, and now all the GOP can think of doing with hispanic voters is to trick them into not voting. It is truly disgusting. What cynicism to convince people NOT to vote rather than convince them to vote for your own plan. The GOP has no plan. Only anger. I have never seen such an ugly election, just baldly cynical, since the 60s maybe? Maybe you would have to go back to the 1800s.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

In a way, your statement hear speaks volumes about the lack of thought and rationality that goes into the Republican vote.

Lack of thought and rationality in action as far as my 'republican vote'.

Your average American right now is worried if he will have a job, be able to keep his home and the talk around his dinner table at night with his family is about cutting back on spending, paying down the credit cards and postponing any long term plans that things will get better anytime soon.

He is doing at a family level what Washington refuses to do at the national level. He is starting to live within his means and making hard financial choices and decisions.

Your average American now expects Washington to do the same and the Democrats have refused to listen. They went on a spending spree that has failed on all accounts, they jammed through Obama-care that nobody believes is going to lower health care costs, instead will jack them up and has caused companies to even have more fears about hiring. They refused to heed the warnings the American people tried to send them with the elections of Gov Christie in New Jersey and Scott Brown in Massachusetts, they have shown arrogance and disdain for those that disagree with them 'the bitter clingers' or as many Liberal posters hear like to try and see how many times they can say 'idiot' in a post in describing a person that is a conservative (gee wonder why that also may cause some backlash towards them).

They're going to assigned to the political wilderness and President Obama has two options, change course and pursue fiscal sanity again in Washington or become a lame duck caretaker President for the next two years trying to salvage and keep his far left partisan agenda from being totally repealed by the end of it.

Watching him for the past two years I don't think he is capable of moving in a centrist fiscal and policy fashion, his ego is to big, and also in my opinion he really doesn't understand your average American and his concerns, just his left wing Democratic base. That is how he has governed, not as an American President but a Democratic Party Chairman who has set up shop in the oval office instead.

American people have seen enough and are doing the rational thing by forcing him to reverse his course, a course they see as a disaster in the long term and Obama and the Democrats have themselves and only themselves to blame for it.

"Hispanics make up more than 25% of Nevada's population"

Viva Nevada!

Hispanics usually go for the Democrat candidate, around, what, 70%? Then you got at least 90% of the blacks voting for the Democrat. That means the Republican candidate has to get substantially more than 50% of the white vote to win, and in the case of Nevada, probably near 70%. The racial divide is worse than ever since Obama was imacculated.

"What an absolute nutter this woman is"

Heh, and yet she's neck and neck with or leading the Democrat bigwig Harry Reid in the polls.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The Lib comments above clearly reflect what Hispanics are contemplating in the meaning: "the lesser of two evils"

Obviously a 3rd party is needed in Nevada where rational thought can be used to help constituents in the State of Nevada and be a role model for others contemplating a 3rd to 1st political battle.

Univision told The Associated Press on Tuesday that the spot was pulled from one of its Spanish-language radio stations in Las Vegas shortly after the commercial hit the air.

Looks like Univision has decided Hispanics are to stupid to think for themselves. The ad in question clearly shows the failures of Obama and the democrats on immigration reform.

Just like other political ads that present information and tell the voters what they need to know then leaving it up to them to dedide for themselves what they are going to agree with and the action they will take.

However in this case, Univision decided to climb into bed with the table pounding party and align itself with the leftists' Alinsky school of public discourse.

sailwind: "Looks like after Nov 2nd President Obama is going to get a 'teachable' moment himself on what America really thinks of his and his fellow Democrats policies."

In a way, your statement hear speaks volumes about the lack of thought and rationality that goes into the Republican vote. It's not what the Republicans can or even promise they'll do -- it's about anger over what the Democrats have not been able to do (mostly because of Republican filibustering, I might add, and the massive deficit brought on by GWB who had a major surplus). Republicans vote the opposite of Democrat regardless of what the Republicans are offering (or recently when they fail to offer anything at all).

smithinjapan - in this election cycle, ignorance and gross stupidity are the new conservative badges of honor.

Ignorance and gross stupidity is a super majority Democratic party that has managed in two short years to turn off most American voters in all 50 states and is looking at a total wipe-out November 2nd.

Looks like after Nov 2nd President Obama is going to get a 'teachable' moment himself on what America really thinks of his and his fellow Democrats policies.

Sushisake: "That's desperation, and illustrates a complete inabilty to actually think for themselves."

Bingo. But like you said, it lacks complete inability to actually think for themselves, so when they are absolutely unable to come up with even the silliest of retorts any more they sink to 'guffa desperation!' or try to point out your nationality as though implying you therefore have no right to an opinion.

There is ONE bright side to loonies like Angle winning (if she were to win, that is); they might actually mess things up SO MUCH MORE than GWB did as president that it'll guarantee the Dems back in in the next election.

These tea-party candidates are so utterly stupid that it borderlines on insane.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

MisterCreosote: "Perhaps Angle was looking for support, as politicians do of their audiences."

So, you think she will gain support by urinating on her audience? I guess the GOP and tea-party fools have it so backwards that they think they can get support by telling voters what they DON'T want to hear.

Well, I guess that clearly works with a lot of Republicans -- after all, the party has said if you vote for us we will block tax cut extensions, so in essence they're voting for people who say, "We're going to increase your taxes". I guess they really can get a few voters that way.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I can't wait to see the next crazy the conservatives throw in front of voters.

I'm guessing s/he will think Europe is an island off the coast of Africa, the U.S. has moon bases, and Medvedev is a brand of car their mother drives.

It'll hardly matter - conservatives will still vote for him/her. lol!

Sharron Angle (via limboinjapan) - "Canada is a terrorist haven, refusing to join the USA in Afghanistan ( Canada is there) and Iraq ( Canada is not there) unlike when Canada was our real friend and joined us in Vietnam (Canada was not there)"

Again, when did a conservative candidate's grip on reality ever stop conservative voters voting for him/her?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

well same goes for the USA

Apparently, that is not a rule. :)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

MisterCreosote - "LOL the desperation."

No, the desperation is in the conservatives who will throw their votes behind anyone who isn't a Democrat - totlly regardless of what they stand for, intelligence or past history.

That's desperation, and illustrates a complete inabilty to actually think for themselves.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I am against the old Al Gore mantra "throwing away your vote." =With 25% of a population you could easily win with 100% showing at the polls. Your united vote can also allow one of the Libs to win. Do not allow these "parties" to break unity and weaken your group.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

That's a very good question, and one that - sadly - you won't find any thinking conervatives asking because logic and the good of their country are never factors behind their choice of candidates.

LOL the desperation

To conservatives, if s/he is conservative, that's more than enough to deserve their vote.

It's just a pity that the last - and current - bunch of conservatives in the GOP are intent on screwing America and everyone in it.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

If the people of the USA want to elect this woman fine it's their right but she and her backer are so far removed from reality it is scary!

Things she has said " Canada is a terrorist haven, refusing to join the USA in Afghanistan ( Canada is there) and Iraq ( Canada is not there) unlike when Canada was our real friend and joined us in Vietnam (Canada was not there)"

Total ignorance or just plain lies to suit her purpose, but Canadians have a great response to people like her:

"We noticed it took the USA 2 years before joining Canada in WW2" " But then we knew the enemy had weapons"

0 ( +0 / -0 )

WTF does looking more Asian have to do with Hispanic voters??

Perhaps Angle was looking for support, as politicians do of their audiences. Asians in America , because of their educational achievements and professional achievements, are not considered "minorities" by the Democrat Party. If you are Asian American it is now even harder for you to get into college than it is for the supposedly privileged "white" kids out there.Likewise, Spaniards who have immigrated to the US are not considered "Hispanics" in the whole idiotic scam of equal outcomes for all the different races, when we used to simply ask all to integrate.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

“some of you look a little more Asian to me.” She may be looking at poorer Mexicans and Central Americans who are pure native, Indians, and natives to the America's first came over from Siberia, which is all part of northern Asia, but WTF does looking more Asian have to do with Hispanic voters??

Frankly, if I was a terrorist who had a deliberate goal of damaging America, what better standout choice than to vote for Sharron Angle

Again, you have the wrong woman, sushisake. You re thinking of Senator Barbara Boxer, across the state border.

"On October 12, Scott Swett at the American Thinker reported that Senator Barabara Boxer (D-CA) along with Representatives Raul Grijalva (D-AZ), Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) and Henry Waxman (D-CA) secured diplomatic courtesy letters that allowed anti-American Code Pink activists to travel to Fallujah, Iraq. The radicals traveled to Fallujah in late 2004 to donate $600,000 worth of humanitarian aid to the people who had just killed 51 Americans and wounded 560 more earlier that month. Operation Phantom Fury in Fallujah was the heaviest US urban combat since the Vietnam War.

After the report was published at American Thinker the article was deleted at Islam Online."

MisterC - I don't think any serious patriotic American who had their country's best interests at heart would want to know this latest crop of conservative candidate crazies.

36 GOP candidates are African American. Obviously a great many are also women. Why does this trouble you?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Nevada has an unemployment rate close to 14 percent. That means the state's considerable native American population probably has rates another 5 or even 10 points higher. Reid is killing the state, the way his party has all but destroyed California.

Good to see the Dems smoking the conservatives out of their spiderholes. Just wish Reid looked a bit more like a man and not a university professor. :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

lol! MisterCreosote, thanks for pointing that out. Seriously, I'm getting confused by all the crazies the conservatives are propping up that American posters like RomeoRamen, TimRussert, Sarge, etc. will throw their support behind at every opportunity they can get to back conservative politicians who are only going to destroy the economy further, ship jobs overseas, and make the rich richer.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The Republicans pulled their own ad! You can smell the Republican fear! Smells like they crapped their pants!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Actually, not voting is exactly what all of America needs to do. What is the point of voting between two crappy candidates?

Angle’s opponents also pounced on the tea party favorite for her comments to Hispanic high school students that “some of you look a little more Asian to me.”

Well, her eyes work but she has no filter between brain and mouth. What she was the effect of the Native American part of the very mixed Hispanics. Some people might not like to hear it, especially Hispanics, but I don't see a problem. The truth is as unpopular as ever. However, it is debatable about whether she realizes all that now. But then again, most don't anyway. Oh well, I would rather have an honest politician than one who is a practiced liar and would never admit such a thing despite thinking it. Those are the ones that never learn.

"Sharron Angle practiced witchcraft, claimed men should stop masturbating, tries to subvert peoples' democratic right to vote, and wants to block immigration in a country that became great thanks to the blood, sweat and tears of immigrants like Sharron Angle's ancestors. "

Actually, that would be Delaware candidate Chrisitne ODonnell - who "dabbled into (sic) witchcraft" as a teen, and went on to MTV to promote abstinence (masturbation included). How come when Ghandi promoted celibacy "progressives" think it was "cool"?

Angles's opponent in Nevada is Mormon Harry Reid. Frankly, I would go with the neo-pagan any day...

Reid ,btw, is on record back when it was fashionable vehemently opposing any more immigration from Mexico.

In the end, since I am not a citizen of Nevada my vote is about as decisive as an Australian's :)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sharron Angle practiced witchcraft, claimed men should stop masturbating, tries to subvert peoples' democratic right to vote, and wants to block immigration in a country that became great thanks to the blood, sweat and tears of immigrants like Sharron Angle's ancestors. Conservatives like RomeoRamen, TimRussert, Sarge, etc. should feel immensely proud that Sharron Angle upholds their highest ideals and values.

The GOP needs to rein in their crazies before they overrun the party. Oh, too late - it's already happening. The GOP and tea party are peaking too soon. If they take Congress, the gridlock there is only going to get worse, then when 2012 rolls around, who are voters going to be able to pile the blame on? Oh yeah. The GOP. If The Party Of No really wants to fulfil every conservative's dream of totally destroying the U.S. economy, they should back off and wait for 2012. If they continue with their current strategy, they're going to be tarred with gridlocking Congress and lining themselves up for a roasting in 2012. That's pretty funny, but not as funny as the conservate's favorite witch denier Sharon Angle. :-)

Angle’s opponents also pounced on the tea party favorite for her comments to Hispanic high school students that “some of you look a little more Asian to me.”

Angle’s campaign insisted terrorists do enter the country through the northern border, citing the 1999 arrest of an Algerian convicted of trying to bomb Los Angeles International Airport on the millennium. A spokesman for the Canadian embassy said it was just one case that happened more than a decade ago.

That is one case too many.

The bottom line is, the woman is saying: if you're not going to vote for us, don't vote. It's disgusting... and not terribly far off from what they do in Cambodia... they can't quite legally/forcefully deny them (yet).

0 ( +0 / -0 )

What an absolute nutter this woman is. Is she the same one that said China is taking over the US? or was that another tea-party loser?

TimRussert: This is not tit-for-tat; this is above and beyond disgusting -- like when McCain/dolt ran the ad claiming that Obama was going to 'steal your children', only far, far worse. I suppose if you want the US to return to some ultra-religious hilly-billy state where lack of education and being downright stupid are core values, then you should vote for her. If you are sane, you should be distancing yourself as much as possible.

Exposes those narratives as the Republican wish lists that they are ays waste to every single mainstream media narrative about the midterm elections

WTF, are these artists' statements at the moma? (Narratives --really?)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I agree with escape_artist.

Rachel Maddow had an absolute pearl of a segment on her show yesterday. Absolute must-see. (crooksandliars have it posted).

A few things she does:

Lays waste to every single mainstream media narrative about the midterm elections

Exposes those narratives as the Republican wish lists that they are

Reminds us all of the stakes in this election, especially when it comes to the extremists being pawned off as viable candidates.
0 ( +0 / -0 )

"Turns ugly"? It has been ugly since Harry Reid's seat was threatened. It is now tit for tat. For every dirty trick Repubs play I can find two from Democrat Party backers.
