The same lockdowns that have failed every time since the first one? Florida scrapped lockdowns and they're performing much better.

Exactly but nobody sees that.

California is basically the epicenter for everything pushing forward. If the powers that be cannot control the masses in that state, they will never be able to control and lockdown the world. Has nothing to do with the virus, only control and they are failing miserably because the people are now awake to their games.

But they have to do something, anything, to show they're doing something.

Of course they can just do much more testing and try to test everybody, I've heard they're effective in controlling spread of infections

I first had a look at your link, and it seemed to me like misinformation, so I had a look at Fat Emperor. He's much more convincing. The vitamin D information seems legit, probably more beneficial than vaccines.

You're free to believe whatever fuels your confirmation bias.

Lockdowns obviously don't work and I can't for the life of me work out why people are still so fixated on them? It's like they just stick their fingers in their ears, shut their eyes and scream when evidence to the contrary is presented!?

Anyway, can you do the world a favour and share this collection of peer-reviewed studies so we can actually follow some proper science?

Believing what you read on the internet is not the same as following the science. Most of those studies aren't peer reviewed and many conclude that lockdowns work.

Yeah, Fat Emperor (Ivor Cummins) has many great vids; am watching the latest vitD now.

Unfortunately most of them are misinformation, which is not surprising considering he is an engineer not a doctor.

Saying lockdowns work is just like denying 2+2 = 4

And you are free to continue to needlessly panic and ignore perfectly safe lifesaving solutions.

That would be the antivaxxer choice.

The problem is nobody is paying attention. In our city in the California county with the highest infection rate the tattoo parlors are open, restaurants are open serving customers outdoors, employees are not wearing masks, gyms are open and people are inside working out. Stores are supposed to be limiting the number of customers inside to 25% of capacity. Back in March and April they were doing so. Not now. Customers shop with no mask on and they give you crappy looks for wearing a mask. You have to ask other shoppers to keep six feet away. More nasty looks. The parks are full of kids using the playground equipment with no masks. Parents accompanying them don't wear masks either. The state is doing everything it can but too few people including an awful lot of businesses are just blowing the state off and doing whatever they want. We all get to pay the price for this.

An awful lot of people are going to get sick and die because of twisted perceptions like yours. It's not about control. It really isn't. How to defeat a pandemic is well understood and has been since the late 19th Century. Masks, social distancing and eliminating large gatherings have always been part of the process of defeating a pandemic. You can go back to 19th Century smallpox epidemics and see the same laws were used then as now. It's what works. You want to survive a pandemic and not get a lot of people killed? This is what you do.

But unlike the people of the 19th Century, people today are soft, self centered, lacking in self discipline and any sense of something larger than their immediate wants. Grow up and act like an adult. You can survive a year or two without dining out, going to a theater or watching a ball game. It won't kill you but from the whining and crying one hears one would think it is tantamount to water torture to have to do without a few things for a year or two. What really makes me shake my head in sadness is that so many are seemingly willing to just let people get sick and die so they can go along and enjoy their lives. No one is willing to give anything up for the sake of their neighbor, their community or their country.

Thing is though, Desert Tortoise, when many members of the public find out that the (Democrat) leaders are flouting the rules that they themselves impose, the public questions the need to follow them. Newsom etc only have themselves to blame for breaking the trust.

The Fat Emperor has some great videos on lockdowns, and a very interesting new one that came out this morning with three medical doctors talking about effects of vitamin D on COVID immunity.
