This one crazy and rare nutcase is going to be used for a whole round of over-reaching by welfare services, you wait and see.

America now has her very own Josef Fritzl. Thankfully these type of guys are extremely rare. But the story will get pimped and milked.

the 51-year-old man’s former wife described in a calm voice her marriage to a man whose visions she said drove him to try to create “pure” family bloodlines by impregnating several of his teenager daughters.

The girl’s mother testified some of the babies were delivered at home and never received birth certificates, and said in at least two instances babies who died in the home were buried without authorities being notified.

she said she was too frightened to confront him.

My god, she's almost as guilty as he is! Why the hell didn't she run to the cops or at least the samaritans or something if she was scared to confront him? Useless mother. Poor kids, lumbered with those two as parents.

Sorry HeyLars, the Welfare departments are woefully underfunded and understaffed. They don't have the manpower to handle what they already have, nevermind adding a "round of over-reaching".

I hope they lock him up for good but he'll be out on the street in a few years because of over crowding in prisons/ mental homes.

For all you posters who tend to accuse Japan when a crime story like this happens in Japan, here is a crime story that reminds us that losers of society exist in all countries.

Sad but true. You might be able to make the case that stories are more common in xxx, but how can you tell? You know there are more pedophile nutjobs out there, that we haven't heard about, even now. Probably doing the same horrible kinds of things to their kids as well. Just hope the kids can eventually overcome this kind of history.

Wow, this is a real monster, isn't he? He'll never be safe in prison. Even the morals of the prisoners, in any prison he goes to; he's a dead man in the general population.

I hope he gets what he deserves from his cellmates. < :-)

Wow bats%*t crazy. Why is it that the ones who have visions of the appocolypse somehow think their crazy asses will be the chosen ones. I wonder what kind of life lies ahead for the girls and their babies, they must be warped and traumatized beyond repair.

Oh great, another religious fanatic with a family. He's chosen all right, chosen among the hellbound. Pure bloodline from incest? He's competent too which makes it all the more reason to totally nail him to the rest of his life in prison.

I hope he'll get some pure justice served to him in prison.

Understaffed and underfunded was not what I thought when the welfare people rounded up 460 some Mormon kids a couple years ago.

Texas and New Jersey are pretty far apart.

My god, she's almost as guilty as he is!

No, she's just as guilty if not more. He sounds like he is probably insane, she sounds like she certainly knew better and yet did nothing to stop it. What kind of evil is that?

Never heard of unfunded mandates? Do more with less is the mantra of the day in government.

@pawatan: I can sort of agree, but you must remember that she was under duress, just as her daughters were. Yes, she should have done something. But it isn't as if she could make a phone call and instantly solve the problem. She would have faced what sound like serious repercussions at home.

Yeah, she would have faced serious repercussions at home, not to mention he likely would have taken it out on everyone else, too. So, she could have made things a ton worse had she spoken out about it.

Just watched the Oscar movie "Precious", and now this, what's wrong with this world?

pawatan said: Texas and New Jersey are pretty far apart.

But both in the same country! My understanding is that American welfare agencies are monsters to be reckoned with. Maybe not as much of a monster as he-who-shall-not-be-named in the article, but still monsters.

Anyway, it is interesting how the comments section about Joji Takahashi and Mika Mifune was filling up nasty slurs and anger so bad they got erased. This section is strangely quiet. It is absolutely bizarre what people choose to get all bent out of shape about. None of these girls will stand next to the father of their children smiling and that is one of the simple tests I apply to decide what to be angry about.
