Diversity is their qualification. Content of character no longer matters. White males are inherently bad. Transgender is automatically good. Everything else is pretty much irrelevant.

Whereas for the right, they hate diversity, content of character only matters if you are telling someone else they are wrong/bad, transgenderism is evil, and everything else is pretty much irrelevant.

That's why both of your extremes are a problem. The center, aka balance, is healthy; extremism is detrimental.

I'd like to see qualified people get the job, not feel-good diversity quotas so we can pretend we live in a United Colors of Benetton commercial.

The right is acting the same way about Ardern's election as the left did after Trump's.

Diverse like the Old White dying Republican party

Too bad being qualified went out the window when the globalists took over.

If being qualified was a requirement for being an elected official, Trump wouldn’t have been allowed to to run a bath, let alone a country.

Yep, the economic and fiscal challenges will require a marked increase in productivity of goods and services regardless of the political value of diversity.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern response to the pandemic is an irrelevance without a clear coherent economic policy to finance it.

Being a politician requires one skill being a caring human, empathy. .everything else is ego and greed.

Diversity is the political left's way of being legally racist.

Who is to say the diversity elected represents people who are otherwise not qualified?

Typically, the only thing qualifying your average politician in most countries, is a pulse.

You never know, it might just work. Bit early to tell.

Diversity is fine, but people need to be up to the job as well. When someone like Phil Twyford (the father of a million stuff ups) is ranked number 4 then you know you have problems.

Agreed. The talent pool is extremely shallow at the moment in Labour and it has only been the (O.M.G) One Man Government Chris Hipkins holding the thing together.

Labour hasn't announced any major policies/pledges, because they got extremely burned last time around when they failed to deliver on almost everything. if you don't announce anything, the public has nothing to hold you accountable to.

Three things gave Labour the position it is in. Jacindamania and the blind faith that follows, Covid (and people's aversion to change in times of war and unrest), and that National has been in a fragmentation/rebuilding phase since the departure of John Key.
