Economists say the recovery and rebuild could add to inflationary pressures

Economists say the recovery and rebuild could add to inflationary pressures

Dubious? It's economics 101. Supply and demand. With a big boost to demand, likely means that building supplies prices will increase causing inflation.

So did rebuild efforts in Japan after numerous natural disasters lead to inflation?

Dubious claim indeed.

And if natural disasters do cause inflation, that would suggest central banks tighten monetary policy after natural disasters.

But usually they do the opposite.

Dubious, dubious, dubious.
