Stay safe, Kiwis. The 2011 quake that tragically killed and injured so many is still fresh in all our memories.

One thing I don't like about big earthquakes in NZ is that big ones follow in Japan not long afterward. This happened about a month before the 3/11 disaster.

Oh yes, the infamous “ring of fire”. And of course as we all know, Japan is a part of it as well. I was born and raised on the US East Coast, so there were virtually no earthquakes at all. In fact, when there was even like a 2.5 or 3.5 once or twice, that in itself was alarming. I can’t even imagine what a 5.1 or 5.8 would be like.
