This will never end. There will always be someone coming from somewhere who will test positive on arrival or after some stretch in quarantine. What we really need is someone to come up with an effective treatment regime like Tamiflu has been for the various flu viruses, so that when a new case is found the answer isn't to cancel events and lock populations down. Just give them the treatment and get them past it.

Lockdown the country. Far too many cases to feel safe there. Political hesitation will have consequences

2 weeks is simply too short. It needs to be at least 4.

And traveling overseas during a Pandemic is a danger to your Country upon your return - an enforced 4 week quarantine may curtail all but the absolutely necessary travel.

New Zealand has done an excellent job todate on containing the virus, and it should continue to do so, by effectively banning all overseas travel, imposing 4 week+ quarantines until the Global pandemic has gone.

Other Island Nations should seriously do the same.

"The new case was diagnosed in a person self-isolating at home in Hamilton, a city in the North Island of New Zealand, who was released from a two-week hotel quarantine on Jan. 30 after testing negative twice for the virus."

What now? Apparently the first two test results were faulty due to human or technical errors?

21 day quarantine around the corner?

The science suggests that 2 is fine. Having 4 weeks won't improve anything.

Really? Where did you hear that?
