Regarding the article itself, I wish they would not report this person's name. Just refer to him as the accused. People hate the media these days, and this is one way in which the media is irresponsible - they create celebrities of these people by publishing their names. It's like that kid (I won't post his name) who did the Isla Vista killings in 2014, who is now the poster boy of the incel movement, who is quoted by those who commit similar murders.

JT editors are now responsible for putting this person's name out there, adding to the household recognition of his name. This isn't a responsibility that can be put onto someone else, this is right here, on this very webpage. Just because something can be published, doesn't mean it should.

JT should really reconsider its policy on such matters, and become socially conscious on this matter. Replace his name in articles with 'the accused' or 'the perpetrator'. Leave out his name. The names of people who perpetrate crimes like this deserve to be lost to history, while their actions should never be forgotten for the horrendous offense upon humanity that they are.

Let's stop creating counter-culture celebrities of them.

I have read his "manifesto" and I do not see any "white supremacy" there. But we must follow the politically correct labels, apparently.

I like to fact check. I hadn't read his manifesto before. I just read through the first half of it - it's literally white supremacist talk from start to finish.

White Supremacy has got no place in today's Society.

Those who preach it are hardly Supreme - neither Athletically nor Mentally.... Challenged perhaps be a more appropriate choice of Word.

That said, Focusing upon one race or religion or gender, over another should also not be promoted. Equality, however would be a far more useful goal for such energies.

He'll have to spend the rest of his life in solitary confinement. Wouldn't last ten minutes outside his cell in a prison in NZ.

Not sure what he wants to achieve by this. Basically the media here in New Zealand are very unlikely to widely report anything he has to say, unless they are words of contrition.

Zoos and prisons have over decades imprisoned sad animals currently under named turpitude.

I normally recoiled from ascribing concepts of evil towards such humans. But such acts are depraved and animalistic. This one deserves life with no chance of release.

Apologies for insulting our animal friends.

You haven't read it if that is your take away. What agenda do you bring here?

His whole deluded scribble was a white supremacist rant .

I've read it too, and I see it as loaded with material associated with white supremacy. Since I'm hardly unique, I'm going to guess that many other people would too.

I'm also not bothered by his claims to be an 'eco-fascist' (or anything else, for that matter). He also claimed to not be a Nazi, despite a wealth of Nazi and Neo-Nazi references and paraphernalia.

Well he looks like a happy Chappy,

Isn´t it good that we are allowed to see his photo.

Yes. Are your for freedom of information and freedom of speech, or against it?

Pro-freedom of speech and pro-freedom of information. Vehemently anti-authoritarianism and anti-empire. I oppose the Trumps, Putins, Erdogans, Xis, etal. And all far right movements. Including the neo-national socialist movements pushed from Moscow.

Well he looks like a happy Chappy, he should get used to it things are not going to get better. I would suggest avoiding anyone with a broom, Jeffery Damlier would up vote me for that advice.

Isn't it great that most 'westerners' have access to what was written, can interpret what was written based on their own personal beliefs, and can use a media outlet to report that interpretation!

You don't have to be too concerned about P.C.

He killed 51 people because they held a belief he didn't like. He went to the trouble of travelling to another country to kill them. He is a total nut. He even live streaming his brutal murders. His sentence is locked up for life trying to survive in a multicultural prison space with out a gun....good luck with that.

Viva democracies and a free, for-profit press!
