I just joined many other New Zealanders who have had an experience like that as a result of the pandemic and to anyone who is caught up in that scenario I am so sorry.

Try to keep up. NZ's response is nothing like China's. And it's nothing like the UK's give up everything. It centers around vaccination, particularly the roll out of boosters, masks and caution.

Track and trace will continue as is until there are over 1000 infections and at that point they won't try to track down everybody that is infected. It's very pragmatic and look to expect an explosion of cases in NZ but with few deaths.

But she has been living with him for a long time. Why bother getting married? It's not like they haven't been doing what married couples do. The ceremony for them is just for the pictures.

This person has created a whole lot of misery for New Zealanders caught overseas during the pandemic. Her govt. has got around the law and basically barred people from going home. Having her wedding plans disrupted is a very small problem compared to the people whose lives have been turned upside down by her indifference.

It wasn't insanity at the time. In fact because of the initial lockdown, New Zealanders were maskless and free for many months. It was a boon for the economy.

But this thing isn't static and you have to adjust the policy for the circumstances, which they have done at every turn with Delta and Omicron. Expect more changes.

We can all quibble and debate about her morality, beings she's living with a man and they ain't married. but she's putting everything on the shelf for time being incl. her wedding and setting a good example for other Kiwis while the omicron is raging NZ. Meanwhile in the UK, Bozo and friends were partying like it was 1999.

Oh of course she and her mate could tie the knot at home in a private ceremony. Jerry Lee Lewis did so for the 9th time in 2020, with very limited attendance,

Unfortunately, she has caused a lot of misery for New Zealanders both inside and outside the country. She is a leader that loves the limelight and is trying to be the hero that saves New Zealand. Her Government has introduced new laws to suit themselves and despite stating that they want to be transparent, have been completely the opposite.
