Congrats on the nuptials! Also well done! Unlike the leader of another country in the common wealth who acts like he is above the "law" at least you are leading by example.

I wonder, do you happen to speak Japanese? Interested in a different location to lead a different country?

I just joined many other New Zealanders who have had an experience like that as a result of the pandemic and to anyone who is caught up in that scenario I am so sorry.

Good to see our leader consider herself subject to the same rules as everyone else. Unlike Boris.

new restrictions; including a limit of 100 fully vaccinated people at events.

Not including. That's it. Travel, work, school, entertainment is not restricted at the red setting.

Tough border restrictions and snap lockdowns have been in place for much of the last two years.

border restrictions, yes. lockdowns were limited in length and by location. Full lockdowns were in place some of the last two years.

To borrow from an old Japanese saying, Boris and his ilk need to drink tea brewed from the scrapings from under her nails.

爪の垢を煎じて飲む(tsume no aka wo senjite nomu)

On behalf of both Australia & NZ, I say to you - Go Nads !

in the face of an outbreak of the Omicron variant.

....and she thinks she can stop that? LOL!

While the UK finanlly decided that Omicron be Omicron and we can live with hit, Ardern sticks to the CCP model. Well, she will be as successful with that as Xi is.

A leader with principles and morals. Congrats!

Try to keep up. NZ's response is nothing like China's. And it's nothing like the UK's give up everything. It centers around vaccination, particularly the roll out of boosters, masks and caution.

Track and trace will continue as is until there are over 1000 infections and at that point they won't try to track down everybody that is infected. It's very pragmatic and look to expect an explosion of cases in NZ but with few deaths.

a family who travelled between cities to attend a wedding,

it was actually a wedding, a funeral, an amusement park and the Sky Tower.

some of those places with 100+ people.

But she has been living with him for a long time. Why bother getting married? It's not like they haven't been doing what married couples do. The ceremony for them is just for the pictures.

This person has created a whole lot of misery for New Zealanders caught overseas during the pandemic. Her govt. has got around the law and basically barred people from going home. Having her wedding plans disrupted is a very small problem compared to the people whose lives have been turned upside down by her indifference.

You don't read much, do you? It's not about stopping Omicron. New Zealand's zero-covid approach was abandoned once they realised Delta wouldn't be stopped. They shifted to a restriction strategy

Thanks for the correction. Good to see that they have given up on the initial insanity.

Something wrong with wanting photos to celebrate a relationship?

Actions speak louder than words. Good to see not everyone thinks they are above the law and double standards etc.

It wasn't insanity at the time. In fact because of the initial lockdown, New Zealanders were maskless and free for many months. It was a boon for the economy.

But this thing isn't static and you have to adjust the policy for the circumstances, which they have done at every turn with Delta and Omicron. Expect more changes.

A leader with principles and morals. Congrats!

We can all quibble and debate about her morality, beings she's living with a man and they ain't married. but she's putting everything on the shelf for time being incl. her wedding and setting a good example for other Kiwis while the omicron is raging NZ. Meanwhile in the UK, Bozo and friends were partying like it was 1999.

Oh of course she and her mate could tie the knot at home in a private ceremony. Jerry Lee Lewis did so for the 9th time in 2020, with very limited attendance,

My aunt died from a long unrelated illness in November 2020 and the viewings, tributes and funeral was limited to 20 people max. Of those 20, five of my kinfolk got CoVid. 4 of them survived, my uncle the widower didn't.

Jacinda Ardern and Clarke Gayford are practicing safety and common sense, as well as setting an example for everyone in NZ. And that's good enough.

Unfortunately, she has caused a lot of misery for New Zealanders both inside and outside the country. She is a leader that loves the limelight and is trying to be the hero that saves New Zealand. Her Government has introduced new laws to suit themselves and despite stating that they want to be transparent, have been completely the opposite.

There is nothing about this that has to do with morality.

Agreed.
