Given Ardern's recent speech at the UN, I wouldn't put it past her to include speech that criticises any pronouncements by her government, the UN, WHO, etc. as terrorism.

This sounds great! Nothing could possibly go wrong with this and I'm sure NZ will remain the bestest country in the world with the most freedoms and safety!

There are no terroristic activities in New Zealand. The Kiwis are peace loving people. This is just another excuse by the tyrannical terroristic govt to gain more power and control.

The 'identity suppression' is creepy and fascistic. Justice should be done and should be seen to be done. For that, you need transparency.

Not at all. Without it you have trial by media.

People have had their lives ruined, for example, by a sexual assault accusation, when they have subsequently been found to be not guilty.

Once someone has been convicted, you get to know their name.

And yet, the article describes a knife attack, where police couldn't get involved with a known extremist until after they stabbed someone:

After the mall knife attack in 2021 the government sought a review on how to improve laws to prevent a similar attack happening.
