New Zealand actually acted much later than other countries. It was only by chance that no one travelled to NZ with the virus until mid-March, and once the first person was in, then the government was able to "justify" locking down the entire country, damaging the economy irreparably. People say it's worth it to save lives, but if the government would have acted quickly, NZ would have had no cases and no lockdown. NZ could have been at zero cases and had a working economy, we're a small island country far away, any cases of the coronavirus is a disgrace. The virus was not eliminated, it was welcomed with open borders.
There were no tests before flying to NZ until last week even, a year after the pandemic started.

Why do you even post such misinformed and clearly untrue rubbish? Why do you actually do it. Everything you say is demonstrably untrue. Why do you do it?

I do want to make a response to the very uniformed comments from Chelsea. It is apparent to me, that there are a number of posters that wish to see NZ fail, have a severe CVD outbreak and then say: see! you are no better than us. I will give you a reality check as currently I am living in NZ and have no intentions of moving anywhere else soon (or am able to if I'm honest). People in NZ live in a Covid free environment. This morning I went to the supermarket. No social distancing, no warnings about touching food - normality. Yesterday I caught up with my friend Shane, for a couple of beers at Church Corner. No masks, no social distancing, just two mates having a chat.
60,000 people go to sports events. People kiss and hug when they meet. All restaurants and bars are open. So sorry Chelsea, everything in NZ is fine. Sorry you can't join us.

Yes, replacing one solved problem with the next growing problem is also always a sufficiently stupid option. lol
