She can't lose. She is the world hero.

80% of the population support the way she has handled the Covid virus.  In the last week NZ has had no more than 2 cases a day.  Zero today.  Third zero in a week.  Go Jacinda and go NZ.  Outstanding effort from the whole of NZ population.

Glad to hear that. With my ear to the rail I predict she will lose.

You may be onto something there. I've heard likewise. I don't know much about her opposition, but Jacinda is something of an economic illiterate despite the lefty global media fawning over her.

If the opinion polls hold, or even drop somewhat, Labour should win in a canter in 4 months, and probably will be able to govern in their own right with no need to be in a coalition government.

Of all the OECD nations, NZ along with Australia, so far have the lowest Covid-19 deaths per million (4). That is a decent achievement. And Ardern has been clear and strong with her message and plans from day 1, as opposed to so many other leaders. Good leadership.

I think this would be the first democratic election anywhere since the Covid-19 epidemic started,

If you categorise the country as a democracy, South Korea has done the general elections last month which turned out to be a landslide victory for Moon-baked ruling party.

Besides NZ, more will come elsewhere at multi levels in this year and on, with a significant one held in the US. How Covid-19 will affect local democracies and elected leadership is very interesting.

She's done well, in comparison to the stinking mess that other leaders have left their countries in. I wish her well in the election.

After all, Winston Churchill lost the 1945 UK General Election after leading his people successfully through World War 2.

Yes. He was some character, was Churchill. Some leaders want to emulate the man, but that's not wise, if they know the history of the man.

Anyways, liberals seem to love it when the citizens are dependent on the state.

I don't know about liberals, but I love it when there's a safety net and family/friends etc don't have to go hungry.

You'll get one opinion of the man in most parts of the UK, but an entirely different one in Ireland.

And in the UK.

There's communities and unions with long memories.

Public figures can be canonised, but we are lucky to have the history on record.

I like Arden, she's a leader more people should treat and emulate. And if the gun cult is upset about her, well, that's a plus.

The lockdown legality is being questioned

Anger is rising with job loses.

Hopefully, she will lose
