You demonstrated that is false with several sources, why insist on something you yourself proved is false?
El Rata
Well, that's gonna be a problem. I'll stick to the UK for the time being.

Thailand just opened up as well. And looking forward to tourists.

New Zealand welcomed tourists from the U.S., Canada, Britain, Japan and more than 50 other countries for the first time in more than two years Monday after dropping most of its remaining pandemic border restrictions.
Way to tough it out NZ.

Right on. And most of the world is even in denial that the zero covid policy is the reason why China has the lowest rate of Covid infections and related deaths in the world.
Very basic concept--you don't come into contact with people, you won't get infected.

NZ must be heaven for progressive left extremists.

Let’s be realistic letsberealistic.

Well, if you are interested in living on a deserted island by yourself, go for it. I'm happy living in an organised society with everything I need and everything is taken care of for me and my family.
Bob was being sarcastic I suppose but it show the difference between the responses of NZ and Japan.
NZ rolled out subsidies directly to the populace on a weekly/monthly basis before implementing a lockdown.
Japan left workers to twist in the wind while gifting money directly to affected business owners. And not even instituting a payroll protection scheme mandating tat stimulus money to business be contingent wth maintaining a percentage of staff wages.
Business owners are the ones who expect government to care for them in a crisis, and they are almost always cared for generously.

No taxes! Off the grid, man! Tarmac our own roads! Private healthcare! Herbal remedies! Build my own airport with my own immigration rules!
Bobo
Great too see, and they really need the tourism I hear, not like us we don’t need any , we’re happy in the dark breeding our own mutations.

Thank you for your kind words fuzzy . Oops …. I mean Chandler Halderson…. I am however a scholar of scientific diseases…. What are you missing? My bad …. I gave you too much credit for your ability to comprehend basic English.
Fuzzy
Or infectious diseases.... But putting that aside, what success in NZ are you referring to? What am I missing?
NZ still has covid circulating despite all their efforts. Opening the border is an acknowledgment that it can't be eradicated and that the cost benefit now favours opening back up to the world.

I’m no scholar in New Zealand politics… I can only rely on google…. So how is it even remotely possible, that a democratically elected government from a required by law mixed bag of political parties, successfully impose near zero Covid policies , restrictions, a hard lockdown …. And turn that into the role model of success in the fight against Covid??? Yet here in Japan , the daily regurgitated misinformation is that literally everything that’s been successful in New Zealand and other countries around the world just won’t work in Japan? I’m sure glad the jgov doesn’t listen or even pay attention to the naysaying minority here who have and still continue to whine about restrictions that we’ve never had . Never had a single mandate imposed on residents. Whining on and on about strict border controls when New Zealand even had them on their own citizens. Some may try to spin this into me saying I “want” a lockdown when the fact is, I’ve never once stated that. I have stated and it is still my position that a true lockdown was needed and may become necessary in the future. We are no where near where we need to be . Luckily, the jgov is following sound science to determine when they might loosen up the borders a bit . There is literally no need to at this time.

They've been the best at dealing with COVID, I reckon. Certainly better than here
Absolutely.
No GoTo, moldy Abenomasks and subsidizing business owners who laid off most of their workforce.

Stop expecting government to care for you and care yourself.

You mean "considering to announce the possibility of planning to discuss about devising a plan to consider doing a press conference about a plan to consider if doing it is possible"?
Seigi
Because New Zealanders have brains to weigh the pros and cons and are smart enough to adapt to changes and various situations.
shogun36
Oh look Japan, it’s actually possible to do it.
That means Japan is only about 8-12 months away from considering to do it. Yay!
