Excited for the far-right posters here to be like "he's conservative, good! But he's in the Liberal Party, bad. But he hates immigrants, good! But he is on a Chinese website, bad. Good. Bad. Goobad. Gdodobgodbgogbdb" and watch their heads explode.

Was it hacked or officially taken over by the company? The article is not clear.

Anyone thinking of using WeChat should learn from this, it is controlled and monitored by the Chinese government.

Anyone still using it, remove it right now!

Common knowledge. The question is why was an Australian politician even using it? I'm frankly very surprised.

The mind does boggle. Then again it was Scott Morrison, a man of dubious judgment.

Because the Chinese in Australia make up a decent proportion of the voting population.

Use Chinese social media? Dont complain when you are "hacked".

As opposed to what? Whatsapp? I've lost count the number of times I get strangers' texts on my Whatsapp account, and the number of texts from some of my friends and relatives - they didn't send them - their accounts were hacked and most probably sending viruses. I have never experienced that with Wechat.

So let me get this right. ScoMo has been on this non-stop anti-China propaganda machine, and he wants the vote of the Chinese diaspora? Even after all the verbal and physical abuse directed towards ethnic Chinese these past few years? Dream on.

It all means nothing. If they own property, they will vote ScoMo, as they know he will do everything possible to keep the bubble afloat.

Any Chinese made product or software has the potential to be taken over or hacked by the Chinese government!

And idiots keep using TikTok and the like. There is a reason the US government eventually stopped using Kaspersky and has been arresting and convicting a lot more Chinese students, researchers, and professors. They all have the potential to be compromised through blackmail or greed.

Let's not forget China is paying foreign social media influencers on TikTok and other platforms to promote the country in positive light ahead of the Olympics to counteract the bad press from the boycotts of China.

China is spending $300,000 to get US influencers to share positive social media posts to boost the country's image ahead of the 2022 Winter Olympics

Let's also not forget that anyone that do not or says something bad about China during this time risks their accounts being closed; thus, their streams of income and livelihood.

You're living on another planet if you think other countries (in particular USA and Israel) don't do this.
