I have long wanted to visit Myanmar, especially P/Bagan, but doubt I ever I will because I do not want to see another penny go to this corrupt regime running the country. I never want to visit China nor Hong Kong again, for similar reasons, same with Turkey , the UAE, Texas and Florida.

@pukey

You clearly have an agenda against the US and are trying to act like the coup in Myanmar is related to the US. Plus being pro ccp is just bizarre unless you support genocide. Even people in china hate the ccp.

I think your understanding of the facts are quite shallow and recommended to stop spinning propaganda.

They kill their own people! They kill workers for save the children? They should have no peace even in death.

‘unbelievable, right up there with Russia, China, NKorea….sure I forgot many, Syria,…..

Pukey2,Guam is US territories in the Pacific, Google Biden Ukraine Troops Deployment

I think Pukey has a valid point and does not have anything to do with allegiances, patriotism and loyalty. Imagine, the same US general, Smedley D Butler, after fighting so many wars, conflicts and campaigns, connected the dots, and published an Edda titled “War is a Racket”. Very interesting to read it. In essence he stated that the US waged wars for the benefit of Wall Street bankers, big oil, sugar cane industry, energy companies, etc. In a differet documental by Bill Still in “The Money Masters”, he pretty much emphasizes the same concepts Gen Butler mentioned in his essay. I say that it is all about maintaining the Ponzi scheme of all countries operated by Reserve banks.

well, look it up right away because every time I share facts that can change the way people think, my comment gets deleted as “off-topic”. That shows how much control there is to prevent people from waking up. You can comment here as long as you go along with the scripted narrative.

No peace in Myanmar 1 year after military takeover:

How can there be peace in this lawless nation when the aggressive junta continues its atrocious crimes against the people openly and often covertly?

The generals are still topping up Suu Kyi's jail term one after another..

Around 700,000 Rohingya we’re displaced, many killed and most villages burnt down under HER watch. Backed by Western countries.

the positive thing about Burma, is that it is mostly young people, and their are stacks of resources. There is still is hope for the future.

Why are people so bad at resistance, making the same mistakes in every conflict?

Target the leadership - senior military and the rich people who back them.

It's tough to kill a lot of soldiers when they outgun you, and they will slaughter men, women and children in response. It's messy, wasteful and pointless.

Target the leaders. Silently build your capability to attack, moving people into suitable positions of trust and access. Wait for whenever they are vulnerable and then take them out.

There has no 'peace' in Myanmar ever since that totalitarian junta took over in 1962. Students resisted, universities were shut down and protestors were murdered by the Tatmadaw. They established the 'Burmese Way to Socialism' and set up a youth corps to instill their ideology crap into the children. A bigtime financial crisis occured in 1988, and the pro-democracy 8888 uprising was smashed by an internal coup within the Tatmadaw. This time it was the 'SLORC' regime, and it was even more oppressive than ever. Later they 'became' the 'SPDP' (oh, whatever) with the Tatmadaw still in control. Even after ASSK assumed a role in gov't., she sold herself out, collaborated and denied that the Tatmadaw was committing a genocide on the Rohignya. And those other ethnic internal wars continued as well. Now the Tatmadaw did some 'woodshedding' again, 'purified' the regime and dropped her like a rock.

It's the same damn thing, the Tatmadaw has always been in charge and until the Myanmarians of all ethnicities UNITE and overthrow these pukes, nothing will change. Nothing has changed there, except the regime names.

The Song Remains the Same. As the Talking Heads once said, it's the

Same as it ever was!

Same as it ever was!

Same as it ever was!

Same as it ever was!

Same as it ever was!

Same as it ever was!

Same as it ever was!

Same as it EVER WAS!

Myanmar keeps on waging internal wars against minorities who speak languages they don't like. And now that the Tatmadaw has stopped the pretense, it's obvious that nothing has really changed there. After all, ASSK openly denied and supported the Rohingya genocide. Sell your soul to devils like the Tatmadaw, you get burned. Guaranteed.

And they keep on loading her with these excuses for charges. It's Kangaroo Court time again.

Same as it EVER WAS!

“But when the soldiers leave, they lose control of that area. They don’t have enough manpower to maintain control when 80% to 90% of the population is against them.”

if only that 80% to 90% were armed. not only would the population be able to fight back, it would have deterred the military from attempting the takeover in the first place.

The NUG has also sought to coordinate armed resistance, helping organize “People’s Defense Forces,” or PDFs, homegrown militias formed at the local and neighborhood levels. The military deems the NUG and the PDFs “terrorist” organizations.

again, if only they had an armed populace to recruit from. alas, the Burmese have been prohibited the ownership of firearms since about the 60s/70s, despite them actually having the right to.

Hercolobus:

Yeah, I just cannot understand how so many people cannot connect the dots. This is ALL about enriching the weapons manufacturers and all the rich elites and lobbyists who benefit from war. Everywhere there is conflict in the world, one name keeps coming up. USA.

Cricky:

My allegiance is to the truth. It doesn't matter what country it is. No country is perfect, but making outright lies and starting wars just to make money is not morally right. Innocent people are the casualty, never the politicians. We can see this in Ukraine. USA promised Russia NATO would not expand, even during talks with Gorbachev before the SU's collapse. Then USA started stirring up trouble in the 1990s, and now we see them supporting neo-Nazis in Ukraine (no, don't rely on MSM for that info). It's funny how USA supported (or even encouraged?) Ukraine to impose language laws in Crimea which was originally Russian territory and where most are ethnic Russians and Russian-speaking, yet USA sees fit to make up lies that speaking the Uighur language is forbidden in Xinjiang (despite it being spoken freely there and signs in Uighur everywhere).

US agents and funding in Myanmar, Thailand, HK, Taiwan, Ukraine, Solomon Islands (these are on the top of my head and these are NOWHERE near USA), and you think I have an agenda??!!! And some of us can see through some of these so-called NGOs.

There won't be peace as long the US and its allies keep interfering and causing trouble and propping up regimes which follow its own agenda.

I never want to visit China nor Hong Kong again, for similar reasons, same with Turkey , the UAE, Texas and Florida.

Well, I've no interested in visiting Texas and Florida, but I'd love to visit China and HK again soon.
