Hopefully Trump and Kim will achieve something other than more animosity. They both deserve credit if they pull a peace agreement off.

Most Americans were not willing to vote for him. I wonder why Melania is so reluctant to hold his hands.

68 million Americans voted for him and he won the electorate vote. He is the President of the U.S.A.

Hope for the best, expect the worst.

Bolton is simply itching for a war. Pompeo is incompetent.

What a stupid thing to say, as if he or any person wants and enjoys the suffering of innocent civilians and wants to see bloodshed. If you make that kind of a ridiculous comment then you can also make the argument that liberals would be more content to live with a threatening NK. The left should be happy, especially in Washington State and California. Pelosi and the Dems should be ecstatic that Trump wants to prevent them from being vaporized.

Trump lacks the acumen to be president. This is a recipe for disaster.

I guess not, the other 3 previous Presidents couldn’t pull that off, so much for that analogy.

Kim Jong-un has done what his father and grandfather couldn't do; find a leader of the US willing to trade unlimited access to the American purse for compliments

What? Liberal humor?

Id feel better if Trump didn't have a history of squabbling with world leaders, but I wish everyone luck.

The Nobel Peace prize is back on for the die hard trump fans!

"Which doesn't change the fact that:

Most Americans were not willing to vote for him.

Yeah, including nutty California ( Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters ) and the illegals, Hillary actually got more popular votes. Which doesn't change the fact that Trump is going to be re-elected in a landslide in 2020.

History repeats itself over and over again and no one seems to notice!

A tyrannical dictator of a struggling country who has openly called for war as a means to an end is pulling a charm offensive with his neighbours and potential enemies under a banner of peace and prosperity. Anyone see the similarities here?

The only one laughing is Kim Jong Un! He's got Trump and Moon eating out of his hand and neither of them can see the danger that is creeping up on them. I wont be surprised if Trump or Kim Jong Un, submit a statement that says we have achieved Peace! All that will be missing is a little piece of paper being help aloft in front of a plane! Oh wait, there are two of those at the airport! Pick one any one!

This will not end well!

Oh dear, someone just proved they don't know what a fact is.

Yeah, the coastal Americans

Oh yes, I forgot that you consider these lesser Americans that deserve less of a vote than other Americans since you don't agree with their political viewpoint.

And yet claim you support democracy.

It's really quite surreal. Kim has ordered the murders of countless people and Trump is a despicable human being. Yet here they are, about to have an historical summit. It makes me wonder if being decent gets anything achieved anymore.

"Trump is a despicable human being"

His wife, kids, most Americans and the vast majority of his former employees would beg to differ.

Most Americans were not willing to vote for him. I wonder why Melania is so reluctant to hold his hands.

There is no peaceful solution to the North Korean nuclear issue that doesn't involve sitting down with Kim Jon Un and negotiating with him. Kudos to Trump for taking the risk.

Well, to be honest, there was never a complete dotard in the White House when his father or grandfather were alive.

They both deserve credit if they pull a peace agreement off.

I'd buy them new hairpieces myself if they strike a deal. Hell, I'll even introduce them to Rizap.

Which doesn't change the fact that:

Yeah, the coastal Americans, they might not, but the heartland of America or fly over America would and although his numbers are slowly rising, more consistent is a good sign that more and more people that first didn't like him are getting used to him and are more accepting, so that's a very good thing which helps the President and his approval standing overall.

Most Americans were not willing to vote for him.

That doesn’t change the fact that a majority of Americans were not willing to vote for Hillary either. Go ahead, check the numbers. Even her husband - elected twice - never got a majority of the vote.

There is no peaceful solution to the North Korean nuclear issue that doesn't involve sitting down with Kim Jon Un and negotiating with him.

Well sometimes in life there are no peaceful solutions.

"Hope for the best, expect the worst"

Or, peace through strength.

This is all a huge mistake. I can’t possibly foresee any long term benefit from playing nice with a charter member of the Axis of Evil. Iran played the US for fools and North Korea is going to expect Trump to give him a similar deal. If Obama had done this I would not be any more or less contemptuous of him than I am of this move by Trump. Trump will either give up the store or get back on Air Force 1 empty handed and embarrassed for getting suckered into Kim’s photo op.
