Is little Kim feeling like he isn't getting enough "shine" in the current geopolitics or something?

Within the hour of the first North Korean boot stepping onto South Korean territory, Pyongyang will be receiving a pounding beyond it's imagination and fatman will be cowering away in his bunker.
Fighto!
Why won't this fat blob ever shut his mouth?
Start something with South Korea and his entire worthless family will be buried.
MiuraAnjin
Kim's advisors will have noticed that the USA's reaction to Russia's invasion of a European nation was to send munitions - not troops. Israel hasn't received so much as a slap on the wrist for attempting to eradicate an entire people.
So would America really put boots on the ground to help defend Seoul? I know Japan wouldn't. America's resolve may well be tested should Trump win in autumn, and China will be watching with keen interest.
Sam Watters
Try as I might, I just can’t be intimidated by this fat, little midget.

I think it would be more accurate to say that China uses Kim and NK as a buffer between it and the West and that Russia will gladly trade with NK but neither country will risk military conflict over the useless rock that is North Korea nor its worthless ruler.
corajones
North Korea is an incredibly poor country. They need help, support and understanding. Not bombs, threats and ridicule.
John
The only reason the DORK “army” comes south is to beg for food.
The strategic balance has shifted. The North is no longer a ground threat. Thus its reliance on missiles.

Yes, for the sake of thousands of wives and children of US servicemen already in Korea.
JSDF is not welcome in Korea. The ROK army will open fire at arriving JSDF troops, this has been the ROK policy since 1951.
For the purpose of evacuating Japanese nationals, only Japanese civilians airlines and ferries are allowed, no JASDF planes and JMSDF warships.
@Pseudonymouse
China, Yes. Russia, No. Putin actually offered to pay North Korea $13 billion to let them connect gas pipes and connect the railway with the ROK through North Korea, but Kim refused.
However, China has cut a secret deal with the ROK, where China has agreed to stay out of war in North Korea for certain benefits, such as guaranteeing no new US bases above DMZ and sealing of border to prevent the refugee flow.
From Kim's perspective, China is untrustworthy and the only security guarantee he can trust is the nukes.theFu
Peace between NK and SK is easy. Remove about 5000 leaders in NK and merge with SK.
The people will be happier, lead better lives, their standard of living will increase almost immediately and their children will have a future where they can become almost anything and travel anywhere in the world.
Of course, China wants a buffer between itself and easy to access free countries, so they will do everything they can to prevent the merge.
TaiwanIsNotChina
They should not get that help without giving up their nukes, though. No reason for them to have them.
TaiwanIsNotChina
Yes, nukes are powerful. Doesn't mean the North deserves them.
There are already 23,000 US troops in South Korea. Modern battles aren't won with waves of infantry.

Sure thing Kim. Give him a rifle and put him on the frontline of the first wave,, and see how quickly his rune changes.
Globally, we all need a clean out of these despits we’ve allowed to seize power and endcanger our lives.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has called for a constitutional amendment to change the status of South Korea to a separate state and warned that while his country doesn't seek war, it didn't intend to avoid it, state media KCNA reported on Tuesday.
Kim said it was his final conclusion that unification with the South is no longer possible in a speech to the Supreme People's Assembly, North Korea's rubber-stamp parliament, while accusing Seoul of seeking regime collapse and unification by absorption.
Kim Jong Un, at least appears in a constant struggle with his own paranoia. One of the many maladies of madness of doctorships, beware the ides of March.

Myeh myeh myeh! myeh myeh myeh! Bluh bluh bluh! Bluh bluh bluh!
Why don't this tub o' guts just shaddup? He's just shooting off his mouth again. I guess Kimmy's pissed about the Houthi pirates and Hamas getting all that attention lately.

That is because Ukraine is not a formal ally. South Korea is.
If Ukraine had been a NATO member, there's no way on earth Putin would've invaded. Hence Ukraine's desire to join, along with Sweden, Finland and several other countries in Russia's vicinity.
Yes, if necessary. It is treaty-bound to.
isabelle
That is because the regime spends most of its resources on the military and on itself, rather than on improving the lives of its population.
North Korea could be a responsible member of the international community, and as prosperous as its southern neighbor, but it isn't. And it'll remain that way whilst it is a one-party totalitarian state.
John
One can imagine DORK infantry streaming across the DMZ only instead of rifles they carry begging bowls in a scene reminiscent of Oliver Twist. “Please sir, may I have some more?”
Martimurano
All it would take is one brave soul to take this toxic devil out, and it'll be over - end of.
Then all of the people could live together in a harmonious and peaceful Korea.
Fighto!
In a perfect world, yes - the death of Fatboy would usher in a new era of democracy and peace.
The sad reality is the Jeongchiguk (Politburo) of NK have succession plans and successors within the Kim monarchy lined up - just as they had when Fatboys' granddad and creepy dad died.
kaimycahl
Fatboy needs to have his designer make his pants longer and add 5 more inches to his shoe soles. If he sets off a nuke he will not be in NK he will be somewhere else watching his minions dies. That part of the country would be blown to pieces. All south korea has to do is cut off the food supply to his troops and that is the end of story. If the people are already starving and the troops are not eating there goes his army.
Skeptical
We leave the news about Fat Boy's latest rant for a moment, to see what his FM is doing in Moscow. Where Choe Son-hui is talking to their FM, Lavrov.
A reminder that Choe is the daughter of former NorK premier Choe Yong Rim (he hasn’t been seen in public since SHE took over as FM, either whole-intact and still breathing, or in charred crispy pieces).
And after the first day, there was lots of good old fashion Red Party rhetoric. She told those assembled that Magnificent Eater’s earlier visit to see The Moscow created “a new milestone in the fight against military threats and provocations by the unified imperialist forces.”
In turn, The Lavrotory (looking all the world like his hernia is acting up and his truss slid too far down into the never-you-minds) told all that without doubt, “we always support North Korea at the United Nations and greatly appreciate their stance in support of the position of the Russian Federation, including on issues related to the ‘special military operation’ we are carrying out in Ukraine.”
Good to have altogether evil friends, even though they are largely unhinged and red of tooth and claw.

So would America really put boots on the ground to help defend Seoul?
The US has a chequered history when it comes to honouring mutual defence treaties. And one prominent presidential candidate has made his views on such pacts abundantly clear.

'Muh muh muh-muh-muh, I wanna be like Kim. We are lovers' - so says the quisling who commits incest with his daughter. The Russian satellite.
'Constitutional amendment' my butt. Since when does a constitution mean anything in a totalitarian state like NK? In NK everything is the Party, the Communist Party personified by Ol Flat Top. And if he really thinks reunification with SK is no longer possible then let's give him a booby prize award for Major Duh Idea of the Day. Gee whiz, folks - what took this dimwit so long to realize that?
Now that he realizes that, then he'd better leave SK alone. Quit shooting off his motormouth like a kid. That's about all he does, that and fires rockets like a brat kid in the back of a classroom who throws paper wads at other students.
And as for his paranoia, he needs to read up on Shakespeare's 'Macbeth', or more recently Nicolo Ceausescu of Romania and Moammar Qaddafi of Libya. Kim Keeps up the Krap, he will get his Karma.
TaiwanIsNotChina
I believe some sources are in order that a mutual defense treaty has been abandoned.
MiuraAnjin
Nicaragua, 1984, is the first one that jumps to mind. Then Germany in 1946. The Vietnam War was caused by FDR agreeing to support Ho Chi Min while also having a treaty with France - look up the battle of Dien Bien Phu and the 1954 Geneva Accords on Indochina. America ignored France's petition for help at the former, and broke the latter on the same day they signed it.
Let's not gloss over that the country is founded on a litany of broken treaties with the independent indigenous nations too. Don't tell Trump, but the country's got precedent.

Kimmy sez, Kimmy sez. Nyah nyah nyah. Kimmy needs to Kan it. And those background personality CULT statues in the chambers are as ugly as sin too. Disgusting.
