Hit the nail on the head, engaging in that respect is a lose-lose for them. If they comply they will just weaken their position until the deal is intentionally torpedoed or they invite a CIA-backed coup. If they don't, they will be hit with sanctions (which effectively only starve out the common people) that are somehow blamed on the leadership.

We've seen this time and time again, it's no wonder nobody is falling for it anymore.

Honestly why would North Korea ever trust a nuclear limitation deal with the US anyway? We have demonstrated that even if they comply, all it takes is some bad toupee showing up, claiming against all evidence that they aren’t complying, torpedoing the deal, and then when North Korea goes back to status quo, claiming its proof they were never complying

What a brain sick guy, who hasn’t learned anything during his Swiss elite school times. Letting own people hunger, spending the rest for rockets and make environmental pollution to air and sea and fish. This guy belongs into a psychiatric hospital not onto the top of a state.

That is a complete misreading of the situation. Posing as crazy and dangerous has been the modus operandi of the regime for a long time. And Kim is not crazy for staying with that, it is the only way to keep the regime running.

Kim is a threat to society.

A brat kid. Looka me, looka me! RAZZBERRIES!

Kimmy boy, stick it where the sun don't shine!

Sal: Face isn’t the same fat, pudgy self.

Dead give away

Several posters here think the man in the picture is a body double. Why do you say that? What features are you focusing on?

Kim is a threat to society.

the sea is being bad again!

3 ( +3 / -0 )

A single launch to maritime pollution costs about 100 million yen. How many civilians under threat could have been saved with the amount?

Un wants attention. Ignore him.

When a country feels threatened, it builds up its military.

who is threatening North Korea ?

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Wow how timely.

Over the holidays I was catching up on the news around the world and I said to my wife, with all the western nations going on and on about Omicron and the Chinese Olympics situation ( covid and boycott), it is surprising Lil' Kim and NK haven't fired a few Rockets because no one is paying attention to him!

And as if on cue tiny Kim does just that.

has anyone heard the new slimmed down Un talk? even if his weight loss program was successful, this guy has got to be a body double. let's hear him talk - but of course state media will make him lip synch anything...

Another one.

Just that brat kid in the back of your science flinging boogers and paper wads again. Looking for attention again.

Shove it, Marshmallow Head!

My sympathy goes to the North Korean people at large. The more missiles they test-fire, the more suffering the people there are expected to undergo because of international economic sanctions.

Even so, the test-firing of missiles might go on and on in the future, for the leaders of the regime think that the development of nuclear weapons, together with a missile-carrying system, is essential for the survival of the regime.

So, no big fuss, please

They have food shortages where the public is starving and the government is throwing large amounts of money into the ocean, literally.

Time to ask for the yearly aid from Japan or the States

Unidentified projectile that appeared to be ballistic missiles .

That doesn't make sense !

Was it one or more Projectiles?

Into the sea ?

Was the ocean unidentifiable also ?

Perhaps it appeared to be water.

Samit, most nuclear war NK can deliver is under a ton,

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Another one.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

I don't see what the problem is.

The ROK tested the most powerful conventional ballistic missile in history with a 9 ton warhead dropping at Mach 10 last year. Imagine the US MOAB(Mother of All Bombs), but dropping at Mach 10 instead of parachuting like MOAB.

But this test was never reported by anyone but North Korea.

This 9 ton warhead ballistic missile is so powerful with an effective yield of 1 kiloton that its use is controversial, as it would easily mistaken for a nuke drop.

Facing ROK's super destructive missiles, North Korea has to test new missiles to defend itself.

-12 ( +3 / -15 )

North Korea has absolute right to own nuclear arsenals! Her conventional forces were obsoleted!

-21 ( +1 / -22 )

And yet there are still some who question Japan's military build up, with huge threats like this.

Little Rocket man and his sick regime will be buried if any of those missiles touch Japan.

11 ( +15 / -4 )

SDCA, if you live in Japan, the US is the only thing, between Japanese and it adversaries, NK can deliver cluster munition, on it missile, it do matter if a missile is intercepted over, Tokyo thousand of bomblet would drop from the sky over Tokyo Google North Korea Cluster Munition

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

China making sure the world hasn't forgotten their side-kick.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Only the little rocket-boy throwing tantrums to get attention, maybe he wants a deal to get money, medicine or food..

No drama here..

When a country feels threatened, it builds up its military. Look at what Japan is doing because it feels threatened by China and North Korea.

Threatened by China and North Korea??, or persuaded by the chaotic opportunism of the US creating more chaos in the region to continue selling their weapons and trying to save the power that little by little continues to lose..

Let's get real..

-2 ( +6 / -8 )

Lil Kim's body double looks to mean business. ;)

The great leader has ejected?

And being more aerodynamic of late, he's likely to have flown further.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

HNY from NK. Almost like their version of a back-to-work ceremony.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

So much for food for the people being the top priority.

is that even the real Un on TV?

12 ( +14 / -2 )

Very true Smith, and history certainly gives plenty of examples why Korea would feel threatened. I can't imagine them taking any meetings with the States that hinges on them giving up their only guarantee of safety. Meanwhile the States are more than content to try to starve the common people out, that or sustained drone strikes are much their modus operandi across the world, to varying degrees of success.

I don't see this dynamic changing unless someone like China intervenes.

-8 ( +6 / -14 )

Just a attention seeker.
