"The missile followed its preset flight path to reach an altitude of 2,111.5 kilometres.."

Why don't they just claim they landed on the moon or something.

OssanAmerica, I think they did land on the moon, but they were being modest, again.

In all actuality, it turned out just to be a well made chinese bottle rocket.

Crazy insane fat guy with really bad hair and nukes. Not good.

Then we have to worry about Kim as well.

The missile followed its preset flight path to reach an altitude of 2,111.5 kilometres and travelled 787 kilometres, coming down at the "precise location intended", it added.

The distance between Beijing and the launch base Kusong is about 750 kilometers. It is a clear demonstration of what it can hit.

Now that North Korea could lob a nuclear missle at Tokyo and lead to the loss of millions of lives then maybe Abe might

be tempted to take part in dialogue?

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

This is the DPRK way of seeking dialogue - weapons testing, bellicose language and blank incomprehension at the reaction such provocations cause.

That said; what is the alternative? There has to be dialogue & China will be pressurised to step up off the fence.

North Korea has significantly increased the number of missile tests since Trump has gotten into office. I thought it would be the other way around because of all of the fear Trump puts into our enemies, yet here we are.

"Russia's defence ministry later said the missile landed about 500 kilometres from its territory and posed no threat." Why wasn't there a military reaction, sirens, or some other warning to the general public? The reason is the Russians knew it was coming. Then, Putin warned the world to not "intimidate NK." They were lucky that there wasn't a slight error in the math. The math does show a flatter flight would allow the missile to hit the USA.

Rather than rail against the US perhaps Russia and China should take some strong action against the little man.

This is on their doorstep, they have supported him for years. They created this problem it's their responsibility to fix it. As Trump said, if they don't we will. We have no choice as this should have been fixed long ago.

North Korea has significantly increased the number of missile tests since Trump has gotten into office. I thought it would be the other way around because of all of the fear Trump puts into our enemies, yet here we are.

As much as I would like to see Trump blamed for this, DPRK has a pattern of testing weapons or taking provocative actions in response to South Korean elections.

Trump isn't responsible for North Korean weapon tests. At best, he's a minor enabler for his part in making blustery threats that everyone in the world except apparently Americans on opioids and the Republican party can see are toothless.

"We"?

The DPRK & ROK exist due to an extraordinary set of factors that pre-date WW2. Russia, Japan, the US, China all have a hand in the genesis of the split in the Korean peninsula.

It's up to the DPRK (or rather its citizens to usher in change from within) but obviously, the aforementioned countries will all have a role to maintain peace. China are in a tough place; peace and the possible resulting united Korea on its borders may not be entirely agreeable.
