Donny has done zero positive regarding NoKo. He is easily the most ineffective president to tackle this issue. Donny capitulated to and appeased Kim, then decided to rely on sanctions (which Trumpoohiles excoriated other presidents for doing).

But hey, exchanged love letters.

That's gotta count for something, doesn't it?

North Korea isn't worried. It knows both Russia, thanks to Stalin, the man most idolized by modern Russians, the man who personally chose Kim Il Sung to lead North Korea, and China, thanks to Mao who was willing to have millions in his army killed defending North Korea, have its back.

North Korea also knows that Trump won’t do anything more than set up photo-ops (paid for by US taxpayers) - while he's getting free marketing for the Trump brand name - because Trump's afraid he might upset Xi and Putin, which could affect the ongoing growth of Ivanka/Trump Inc.'s global business ventures.

"North Korea is no longer a nuclear threat."

Remember not to get ahead of yourselves next time like some sort of Midas touch with North Korea

Too bad Obama did zero positive regarding NoKo. He had eight years.

Trump had five more.

Bingo!

Kim is just one big angry baby. Has a temper of a 3 year thinking throwing a toy will get him attention, Kim firing missiles, bolstering, riding a white horse...(and a beautiful one) in the beautiful snow covered mountains where no one will be skiing or snowboarding on won’t give him the sanction relief he wants.

Kim, Keep talking, soon the war games will resume as well and you’ll still be ignored.

Say what?

Obama never bowed down before Noko.

Obama never gave into their demands.

Obama never legitimized their dynasty.

Obama never prevented sanctions against Noko.

You are absolutely deluding yourself if you think Trump is even remotely comparable to Obama on Noko.

Trump has been the weakest president ever on Noko.

(16) 55-gallon steal barrels to make rocket boosters. Interesting design. Hard to control using solid propellants. Bet they've already learned that.

Obama never bowed down before Noko.

Great. Neither did Trump.

Obama never gave into their demands.

So Trump canceled some war games. We saved some money, and the U.S. military can, believe it or not, still whip NK even if some war games are canceled. Kim knows this, do you?

Obama never legitimized their dynasty.

Yeah, he just ignored it.

Obama never prevented sanctions against Noko.

Sanctions are still in place. What's your complaint?

You are absolutely deluding yourself if you think Trump is even remotely comparable to Obama on Noko.

I don't think Trump is even remotely comparable to Obama on Noko. Trump's actually making efforts. Serious face to face discussions have been held. Obama ( and yeah, Bush before him ) couldn't even do that.

Trump was boasting too quickly before actually doing something more than a photo on the DM border with the north.

And still Kim can’t get what he wants, lol. Idiot! He thinks firing missiles will bring Trump to the table...just dumb. But yeah, he’s got a Benz....sort of in the most impoverished country on the planet. Enjoy.

No, nothing, never is right.

Yet for the eight years that Barack Obama served as president—years in which America’s North Korea policy was described as “strategic patience,” i.e. waiting around and hoping that North Korea would unilaterally disarm—North Korea was in fact not sanctioned all that heavily.

Uh, Chip Star, your guardian article is more than 10 years old, lol

I sincerely hope that the North Koreans get with the program during the next few years and make significant and verifiable progress in denuclearizing because I guarantee Trump is not leaving office with the status quo still in place like all his predecessors did.

You're right, he's created a new status quo already:

1) Bow to North Korean demands (canceling war games)

2) Prevent new sanctions on North Korea

3) Legitimize the NK government by posing for photo ops with Kim, giving him propaganda to feed the people

4) Write love-letters with the dynasty.

You certainly don't have to worry about the status quo being the same. We now have the Trumpus Quo.
