"No one barters its destiny for corn cake," she added.

Kim Yo Jong just coined a new legendary phrase like "Let them eat cake." They are definitely special.

But it is not far off the capitalist oligarchs in the West who tell the increasingly poor 70+% to "pull themeselves up by their bootstraps".

Her very sinister look makes you wonder who really holds the reins in NK. She is mean and mouthy as hell.

"We make it clear that we will not sit face to face with him," she said of Yoon.

Someone in the US US should have said that before a former occupant of the White House gave the Kim regime the global recognition it had long been seeking.

"No one barters its destiny for corn cake," she added.

Good line for sure, said by someone who's sure, because of her connections and power that she will always have food to eat. Not surprisingly the ruling caste in authoritarian nations are little different from their counterparts in western democracies. At least sometimes in democracies politicians can be voted out. Unless they have enough military support to overturn elections, like Lukashenko in the Putin Federation.

The Taming of the Shrew has been adapted numerous times for stage, screen, opera, ballet, and musical theatre; perhaps the most famous adaptation being in the world of politics - Namely North Korea's Kim Yo Jong. Yet to be tamed, America is always happy to assist.

Starpunk, she has repressed psychological insecurity, that ger way saying ,I need the attention of a man

-3 ( +6 / -9 )

It obviously she do not respect elders, the most cardinal sin for any Asian,is too show disrespect for an elders Lil Kim sister, this is just a front by her

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

North Korean President & his sister are very arrogant & bad mouthed. North Korea should not be given any aid until democracy is established in that country, they don't deserve any sympathy.

10 ( +15 / -5 )

Sad that she suffers from Tourette's syndrome

2 ( +8 / -6 )

God help the man who scorns her....

Yet to be tamed, America is always happy to assist.

You lot already tried and failed to do that in 1950-53. It ended in bloody stalemate after your much vaunted military ran hell for leather back down to the 38th parallel, abandoning tons of equipment in your panic.

In fact, your whole record of 'taming' others since 1945 is mediocre.

Yes, but that was from the Chinese, the DPRK army having since ceased to exist. And I seem to recall that for all it's numerical superiority in personnel, the Red army proved itself good at dying and not a whole lot else.

But yeah, sure.

Sick burn, dude. You really got us....

North Korea do not have a GPS system, they have have a guidance system that has to be updated ,US could shut GPS coverage over the North and render their missile useless, the US should do it ,see who GPS guidance system they using

Holy **** that is one stone cold killer look, at least her brother has that smile going for himself.

North Korea's Kim Yo Jong, the powerful sister of leader Kim Jong Un, said on Friday South Korea's president should "shut his mouth" after he reiterated that his country was willing to provide economic aid in return for nuclear disarmament.

"It would have been more favorable for his image to shut his mouth," Kim Yo Jong said in a statement released by state news agency KCNA, calling Yoon "really simple and still childish" to think that he could trade economic cooperation for the North's honor and nuclear weapons.

"No one barters its destiny for corn cake," she added.

I see Kim Yo Jong came top of her class in diplomacy, a polite courteous demeanor, a unique unparalleled ability to foster an exceptional gift of harbouring solidarity with neighbours, and above all an individual approach of cultured sophistication.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

Well, no more corncake for you. Should cut off any and all future offers of assistance or compromise.

I learned a LOOOOONG time ago, NEVER make a Korean woman angry. NEVER.

Don’t people get it. They’ve seen what happens when you give up nukes. Ukraine, , Lybia.(supposedly Iraq)

They have no intentions of disarming so long as they can make the world jump up and down. So stop being nice to them. And if we’re not going to do anything else just Ignore them, unless they have something credible to say apart from threats and firing a rocket into the air or over Japan.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Past history shows we’ve done nothing. They’ve shelled an island and they’ve sunk a Korean War ship and we did zero. So let’s stop jumping up and down.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

This sickly, rat-like woman is at it again. So rich, entitled and pampered that she could not care less about the millions in NK forced to eat grass to stay alive.

Hopefully misfortune will befall her way as well as her supposed brother Little Rocket Man - the sooner the better.

7 ( +11 / -4 )

Those in charge of North Korea really are low bread morons as shown by this hardly educated woman's comments regarding offers of aid. North Korea has it's priorities and it's citizens are very low on the list if they are on it at all.

Might as well let them starve and die out if that is their choice. You can not force people to accept help when they do not want it.

Ignore North Korea and its sad excuse for leadership until they come asking for help.

Then give them options your happy with and they can accept or refuse again.

They honestly are a loser country and that is sad for the people. But they are what they are.

8 ( +11 / -3 )

NK would no more give up its nukes than the USA would. Not gonna happen. So the SK President is either delusional or just plain stupid.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

The dead eyes of a stone cold killer, the self centred arrogance of a psychopath without the facile charm and a mouth that would make a fish wife blanch.

Ill mannered and uncouth, her approach to diplomacy would be a disgrace to any other country but in their case it is to be contemptuously expected.

South Korea by all means show you at least are a decent, civil and civilised country with periodic offers of support in exchange for a reasonable disarmament of NK’s unnecessary nukes but don’t expect a civil response or to achieve anything. Spend your time improving your own country and the lot of your own people. NK will just have to sink in to its own quagmire.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

I never understood this, with regard to how the world deals with NK.

They're never, ever, ever, ever, ever going to give up their Nukes. It would mean the end of the Kim dynasty.

Why bother even trying? Never, ever, ever will they give them up.

You have to proceed from that stone cold reality.

I'd love to see the poor people get food and medicine in the North. NO PRECONDITIONS.

Problem is... you have to seriously wonder if the poor folks outside of Pyongyang would get it.

Plus I don't think NK would accept it unless it came from China. Which is fine, but again I doubt it would reach the truly poor people outside of Pyongyang.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

North Korea is a useful buffer region for the PRC. If you notice the majority of conflicts where the Chinese have gotten themselves involved concern the defence of the border regions around the PRC.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

How sad the logic of Nth Korean leadership.....while their people starve. It shows that they don't really care about their citizens.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

I’ve seen that look on my ex’s face!

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Sincere offers of help should not be made with conditions. Especially not conditions involving North Korea's desire to have an effective nuclear deterrent.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Kim Yo Jong never seems to smile. Being that unhappy all the time is too much work.

The offer of economic aid for normal North Koreans must really hit the bullseye for internal problems. Keep it up.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

I agree with her. Nobody should offer to help them. It's a waste of time, energy, and money.

@Incandescentwithrage

Apparently, she actually said,” Shut your mouth or I’ll shut it for you.”

You are probably right. She frightens me.

According to Yoon's current polling results in Hanguk, apparently BOTH.

Kim Yo Jong massacre: North Korea panic as despot's 'Devil Woman' sister orders killings

NORTH KOREAN'S Kim Yo Jong has ordered a string of killings leaving the regime's officials terrified of "getting on her nerves".

...

"A total of 10 state security officials and soldiers of the border security command were executed by firing squad in December.

Seems her nickname in NK is "Devil Woman".

This lady is Bad with a capital B, I assume she thinks her brother little bro is soft. Is there a Manga character base on her ? She would make a great Marvel movie series as a the evil criminal that keeps escaping.

North Korea do not have a GPS system, they have have a guidance system that has to be updated ,US could shut GPS coverage over the North and render their missile useless, the US should do it ,see who GPS guidance system they using

The whole world relies on GPS for navigation. If the US shut it down, thousands of airports would no longer have a valid instrument approach procedure to use during periods of low visibility. It would wreak havoc with air travel. Likewise the global maritime industry, from local fishermen to the largest oceangoing tankers and container ship rely on GPS for navigation. Global logistics firms track their shipments, both for themselves and for the eventual customers, using GPS. It would shut down land surveying and a myriad of other practical day to day uses of the GPS signal. It will not be shut down unless there is a truly exceptional crisis.

Is that bloodline incapable of producing decent, human individuals?

There is more to it. The leadership of the Korean Workers Party is deeply invested in their maintaining their power at all costs. If a Kim came to power and expressed any sort of interest in democratizing North Korea he or she would be killed post haste. There would be some sort of "accident" or "sudden illness" and this Kim would be gone. You saw what happened to Kim Jong Un's half brother in Malaysia.

Past history shows we’ve done nothing. They’ve shelled an island and they’ve sunk a Korean War ship and we did zero. So let’s stop jumping up and down.

What do you think a Second Korean War looks like? Have you given it any thought? We have some who post here who maintain that the DPRK would fold like a cheap suit in two weeks or so. But at what cost in civilian lives lost. Not just North Koreans but South Koreans. Meditate on the fact that fully half the South Korean population lives within artillery range of the north, the area from Inchon to metro Seoul. Big apartment blocks holding tens of thousands of people. The US Army calculates that civilian South Korean casualties in the first day of a Second Korean War would be on the order of 100,000 per hour. Per hour ! And that is before the PLA enters the war on the side of the north. Millions dead. That is why the US and ROK are in no hurry to start a fight with the DPRK. The whole purpose of having that big US force there is to prevent such a tragedy, not initiate it.

I never understood this, with regard to how the world deals with NK.

They're never, ever, ever, ever, ever going to give up their Nukes. It would mean the end of the Kim dynasty.

The Kim dynasty did just fine staying in power before it had nukes, as nobody wants to invade NK. So how will removing their nuclear weapons effect the Kim dynasty? Nobody is going to attack them regardless or it would have happened decades ago. Domestically Kim could always face assassination, with or without nukes.

The fact is China and Russia will protect NK to stop the west being on their borders. NK has no real need for nukes or the expense of researching, building and maintaining such forces. That money would be better spent fixing their agriculture and food supplies and their national medical system. Imagine what they could accomplish when the nation has a full stomach?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

"No one barters its destiny for corn cake," she added.

It‘s naive to think that North Korea would renounce its plan to nuclearize itself because the North Korean leadership believes nuclearization of the country absolutely warrants the survival of the regime.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump tried the same soft approach to North's leader Kim Jon-un as South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeo but to no avail.

You know, in many ways she's quite a mean sassybrat, very much like her brother's ex-'lover' who is Putin's lapdog and tried to violently overthrow the Congress and overturn his 2020 LOSS. A female Trumpster.
