Not saying I'm agree with that, just saying that other country send their troops to their ally and nothing unusual about that.

Austin and all the chorus repeaters are living in parallel world of Hyper-Normalisation - where the trickery, the fakery and the endless conga line of lies have become so rampant, so brazen and so routine, it has become hyper normal.

One begins to wonder whether they have started believing their own propaganda.

If NK troops are there it’s not at Russia’s request.

It’s at NK’s request.

This is a golden opportunity for NK troops to gain real world fighting experience against NATO tactics and NATO equipment and NATO mercenaries.

You do realize that these soldiers aren't going back to NK. After being exposed to the outside world, it's too risky to let them come back and tell others the truth.

As the meeting in Washington was underway, the U.S., South Korea and Japan released a joint statement condemning the missile launch as a “flagrant violation” of numerous U.N. Security Council resolutions and criticizing the deepening military cooperation between North Korea and Russia, particularly the deployment of the North Korean troops.

Incorrectamundo: UN sanctions/resolutions on NK relating to the nuclear monitoring - the so-called 'panel of experts' - expired in April of this year and was not renewed due to the conduct of various parties listed above (specifically the former three). This paved the way for frozen funds to be cleared and a resumption of cooperation.

For South Korea and Japan to complain about military cooperation with foreign powers is a bit rich. They are both proxies with a large foreign military presence each themselves. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

Exactly, and nobody has ever been held accountable for the lies (from US admin and MSM) that led to previous conflicts, resulting in massive death and destruction. Until that happens, we should ignore everything they say.

NK troops are there in full compliance of international law.

It’s just unlucky that nobody will see it as anything other than an extension of Russia’s illegal campaign against Ukraine.

One of the reasons that Russia is turning to these North Korean troops is that it’s desperate.

Putin has been throwing more and more Russians into a meat grinder of his own making in Ukraine.

Now he’s turning to North Korean troops, and that is a clear sign of weakness.

1 ( +11 / -10 )

North Korea is a long way from Europe. Don't expect Russia to ship the dead back home. They tend to leave their own on the ground where they fall.

Have the NKs learned Russia or any other Slavic dialect because I doubt the average Russian conscript understands Hangul?

If not, there will be a lot of disorganization from various groups doing their own thing. Then the desertions will increase after the morale drops from numerous defeats in war that most Russians and North Koreans have no real investment in being apart of. Nobody wants to be in cannon fodder for somebody else's war. Some North Koreans will be really escaping for a new life, and others will exploit the aslyum seeking laws to be sleeper agents for North Korea.

RFAF have closed the north part of the cauldron in the last 24 hours south of Pokrovsk - the salient into their lines, mentioned in an article here inadvertently when Hirnyk and Oleksandropil were mentioned.

Now they are outside Kurakhove, with a northern pincer closing in from NE of the Vovcha river reservoir there, obviously flanking it.

Just an ominously there is a Russian armoured force advancing north from the South Donetsk region as a southern pincer - they are already past Yasna Polyana, and clearly heading for Rozlyv, which sits astride the east-west N-15 main road and already under glided bomb bombardment.

Looks like UAF positions in the sector are crumbling. This will be one of the most significant weeks or two all year, in terms of territory taken. Clearly a multi-brigade limited ground operation (one of them is the 114th motor rifle brig "Vostok").

How many foreign mercenaries have joined the kyiv regime???..

More than 13000..

If the west has personnel helping the kyiv regime in its lost war, why not Russia?..

Ukraine, responding to Russia's invasion of their territory, launches an offensive that takes over the Kursk area...and has held it for several months...

Russia is so depleted militarily that it lacks the ability to dislodge these foreign forces inside Mother Russia...

So as with their defective missiles, tanks, and drones, Putin is forced to beg and grovel a third-country for assistance - in this case nK to "bail the out"...

It's telling that Putin has to eat his own words about protecting Russian citizens...

1 ( +7 / -6 )

No one seriously expects Pokrovsk to hold out long once Center Group of forces have closed the cauldron to the south - which is clearly being done along with the associated mop-up operations. Looks likes it could be enveloped from the south-west too with the recent tank movements.

The bigger question is where do the Russian forces in that sector head from there after the fall of Pokrovsk.

There are many options - push west to Zaporizhzhia and the Dnieper. Push north-west-west to Pavlohrad and Dnipro direction along the E50 highway. It is all flat farmland for 100 clicks in both directions. These both have the added benefit of threatening the Dnieper river and cutting off all remaining UAF forces in the South Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia fronts remaining east of that river. Yet another inviting option would be a northern push to bring pressure on Kramatorsk and Slovyansk (the last two cities remaining in Donetsk under Kyiv regime control).

Safe prediction it will be at least one of these, if not two.

Ken, don't be offended! It's just that the power in this world is changing, and you haven't noticed it. I've given you a minus now too. This is because you don't think with your head, but feed on chewed-up propaganda.

-4 ( +4 / -8 )

Putin is allowing Kyiv to maintain a silly little foothold in Sudzha, in the border region of Kursk, because it serves several purposes, all of which benefit him.

Firstly, it's a foolish sideshow draining away Kyiv's last reserves, making gains on the main line of contact much easier (as evidenced by the above posts).

Secondly, it's a kind poison pill for Putin to deny the possibility of any negotiations towards a cessation of hostilities. It's been openly stated that nothing of the sort will occur while Kyiv regime forces are there. He has broadcast this quite clearly and if Zelensky thinks he can bargain with a shrunken pocket on the border, he has another thing coming.

Aww, that's so cute.

Can I let you in on a little secret? Putin is lying to you.

In recent days, the Russians have shelled 4 container ships in the port of Odessa. The last night they bombed the bridge in Zatoka. This is a very important bridge. This is the only way to deliver military supplies from Romania by land. For almost three years, the Russians could not blow it up. And so, it was well done! Of course, it will be repaired, but...The target is targeted, you will not deliver any more weapons to Ukraine this way. Now do you understand why Zel is massaging the topic of North Koreans so much? He distracts your attention from this unpleasant topic. You are trying very badly to help Ukraine.

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

A lot of faux bluster, failed deflection, and out-right fabrications from our Putin-fans...but one thing they can't run away from...

Both sides have accepted weapons from their respective allies, but only one has had to admit defeat in terms of begging a third-party to send combat troops to the front lines - because its own forces are either inept, ill-equipped, or too small in numbers...

The once proud Russian military - now so depleted that they are unable to dislodge the Ukrainians forces inside Mother Russia, and have to beg the North Koreans to do it...

That fact clearly highlights who is winning and who is losing...

Yeah well, the maps of the frontline over the last few months by both sides military bloggers clearly show who is winning / loosing. Russians are relentlessly advancing. Even your "reliable source " CNN & co. has had to admit as much. Zelensky can't win, ceasefire negotiations are needed.

Uh-huh...why does the "Mighty Russian Bear" need North Korean troops to take back Kursk?

Russian military bloggers apparently expect the battle for Pokrovsk to take a while, 6 months or longer they say. How long do you predict Pokrovsk will hold out?

My question was for JJE.

Commenters on this forum were predicting the imminent fall of Pokrovsk mid August, 2.5 months ago. It won't be taken within 6 months, that is for sure.

Russia has already lost this war. Putin has no chance of achieving his war objectives.

The only way to peace is with security guarantees for Ukraine, which means membership of NATO or equivalent.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

I still do not believe it, especially if it comes from Lloyd Austin, but if were true, so what? Plenty of Nato advisors and foreign "volunteers" in Ukraine, so what is the difference?

What truth? The truth that war is not fun, especially not in winter in Kursk?

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

It's now ok to send foreign troops to "defend" Russia? Great. Now western allies should send 80,000 troops to defend Ukraine, as it's obviously also in compliance with international law.

The best part is that since it’s Kursk, which is internationally

recognized Russian territory.

NK troops are there in full compliance of international law.

It’s the NATO backed forces that are there illegally

NotThe One, you have written the text..As I got, you belive that they will seek the asylum in Ukraine? Where will they flee to? Can you imagine what kind of place there is in Ukraine beyond the border with Russia??? Without knowledge of the language, without a supply of food and winter clothes, among the broken villages and vast spaces plowed by tank tracks. Yes, Ukrainians, looters, will shoot them there without any questions or proceedings. Do you at least sometimes read the news from the other side besides your Western info dumps???? Well, the North Koreans don't read either, they are sure that they will get to the bright "Ukrainian democratic paradise". Oh, my father God!

Silly comment. A President has an entire Executive Branch with departments led by Secretaries of each department who manage these problems. It is apparent you have never worked in a large organization with responsibilities delegated to subordinate leaders. When I was a Naval Officer I would talk to my Chief or Lead Petty Officer and tell them we need this or that done, can you do it? If they said yes I would turn them loose and let them do their job. If they said "no" I'd ask why not but often we'd figure something out. Occasionally I would discover I was the one who was full of prunes and I would learn something. But nobody expected my department head to manage the work of my Lead Petty Officer. That was my job to worry about. It was up to me to make sure my division's stuff got done right so the Department Head didn't have to get involved. Same with a President. He tasks his Cabinet members and it is up to them to implement through the organizations they lead.

If Russians are that week and they are loosing-why EU or NATO/namely Poland/are afraid of them if according to you Russiand cant take over even some unimportant village in middle of nowhere...so how they can attack EU?

The lessons of 1938 make it abundantly clear that if Russia succeeds in conquering Ukraine their army won't stop there. Like Hitler after taking Czechoslovakia and annexing Austria he invaded Poland starting WWII, Vladimir Putin will invade NATO nations next. NATO is a lot tougher than Ukraine but Vladimir Putin, like Hitler, will underestimate the capability of the US and its allies to wage war and even though he will lose, it will be costly for all. The scary part is he could chose to use nuclear weapons if he starts to lose, especially if NATO armies cross into Russian territory.

Nobody wants to go there. Nobody wants to see European nations suffer such destruction. Most EU leaders clearly see the parallels to 1938 and know in their bones that if Russia is not defeated in Ukraine then Russia will attack NATO nations.

Apart from the fact your link does not work, ( as you likely well know ) this could be put down to either BBC misinformation or drones being brought down by air defence. Russians don't intentionally seem to target civilians.

Link literally works. Maybe you need to try a different country to spout your stuff from? It literally talks about videos showing civilians being targeted from the drone operator perspective and confirmed in non-terrorist held territory.
