but they warn of looming gun-control efforts in the final years of President Barack Obama’s presidency.

Cha-ching! for the gun makers.

“If they can ban one, they can ban them all.”

Every journey begins with a single step.

The National Slaughter Association is ready to turn crazy up to eleven, again.

Amazingly, without any remorse or conscience, these rabid freaks continue their war on the children of America. The body count continues and rational capacity declines. Wayne LaPierre, continues his deadly lust for more guns, more blood and more lunacy.

Feel the power of the National Slaughter Association, bringing slaughter to a school house near you, everyday. Brave Americans assuring slaughter is as American as apple pie just like the Founding Fathers wanted.

As the photo attests, the NRA worships guns. It is a sick cult.

^Fixed that for you.

“If they can ban one, they can ban them all.”

Rhetoric for the feebleminded. "If the government can ban a lunatic with a death wish from purchasing a semi-automatic assault rifle and armor-piercing bullets, then it can ban a rancher in Wyoming from purchasing a shotgun for hunting fowl."

A propaganda in service of gun manufacturers, those who profit from the fetishization of killing.

Did you know that guns being bought at this NRA convention are inoperable? The firing pins have been removed and the buyers must later pass a background check.. And every state legislature in the country pushing to have guns in schools, churches, stores, and restaurants prohibits guns in their own legislative chambers. Why? Because heaven forbid, somebody might pull out a gun and kill someone. The definition of hypocrisy.

More than 220 years ago, the US thought it needed guns and was probably right at the time. Those guns were rather simple ones making any kind of mass murder rather difficult. Sadly, more than 220 years later, looks like the US hasn't evolved much at all (except for the lethal capabilities of its weapons). Freedom requiring guns isn't really freedom.

The gun shows make it too easy to purchase guns on the spot on a whim.

National Rifle Association members hold hands during the opening prayer at the annual meeting of members at the NRA convention Saturday

Makes me sick to my stomach. I do not believe the God I worship wanted private citizens to own assault rifles. The NRA wrapping themselves in the cloak of Christianity -- "It's a God-given right" -- is a pervesion of the religion and the Constitution.

@jerseyboy

I find it vaguely comforting. It's when they learn to walk on their hind legs or speak in words of more than one syllable that we need to worry....

'For all you frothing at the mouth Anti-Gun owership types...JUST for YOU!'

Give me a frothing at the mouth anti-gun ownership type over a frothing at the mouth type with a firearm any day. The families of those killed by these filthy devices would no doubt agree.

==> Guns on display will have the firing pin removed which is typical for a display gun. I don't think they even sell guns at this event. However concealed/open carry is permitted in accordance with Tennessee gun laws.

= this is more of a convention than a "gun show"

"I do not believe the God I worship wanted private citizens to own assault rifles."

In that case, he should have thought the whole thing through a bit more.

I think most American's can't see whats really going on with the NRA. it's money. Every time we have a presidential election, the NRA suggests we stock up on ammo and weapons. They're coming to take them away. Never has happened. It should! I wonder what they're all scared about? Scared people with guns scare me. They don't see how to resolve their own personal problems without holding a weapon.

“I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.”

Gandhi. No idiot.

The motto of the NRA’s annual convention this weekend is: “If they can ban one, they can ban them all.”

Yep, the day that gun is denied to a homicidal, delusional, mentally ill guy who has vowed to take as many people down with him, that's the day that they'll deny every citizen the right to own a gun!

Oh wait, MAJOR logic fail. Some gun sales are already denied. Guess what! They're not all banned! Fancy that!

Did you know that in Arizona you are banned from buying a gun from a dealer if you have a medical marijuana card?

Didn't know SuperLib, shows a responsible attitude.

All you NRA bashers, how many NRA members do you actually know? Or is it the news media feeding you the opinions?

Heh, madness. Most weed smokers would be too lazy to load it let alone shoot somebody. Alcohol, meth or cocaïne - well, that's when people get shot...

paulinusa - Did you know that guns being bought at this NRA convention are inoperable? The firing pins have been removed and the buyers must later pass a background check..

Where, or from whom, did you get this information? It's a convention, not a gun show.

Why would anyone carry a gun without a firing pin? Especially if everyone, including you, know that none of the firearms have firing pins. That story makes no sense.

And what do you mean that "buyers" must "later" pass a background check? Firearms buyers have to pass a federal check "before" they can buy firearms. That part of the story makes no sense, either.

They should require one. If people were smoking weed they'd be a lot less likely to shoot someone.

All you NRA bashers, how many NRA members do you actually know?

One is too many.
