Different culture to Japanese family owned companies. In Japan, daughters are excluded to work for family owned companies. Sons only, Example. Akie Abe could not have a job in her family owned Morinaga and she went far away from Tokyo to become media anchor. Yoko Ono could not work for her family owned banking system that she became an artist.

She is the oldest child of Korean Air chairman Cho Yang-ho. Her two siblings are also executives at South Korea's largest airline.

I think I can spot the problem: an entitled, bossy, unpleasant person who only holds her position due to nepotism. The captain is in charge of the plane and should have ejected Ms Cho or had her restrained if she was causing trouble. I suppose her dad would have fired him if he had done that. She should be banned from flying on Korean Air again to prevent a recurrence.

Extremely unprofessional. Some kind of power-tripper.

Nice to know. I was debating whether to fly home next time with Korean or Finnair. This has made my mind up.

For poorly served nuts, she has been yelling at cabin crew men. It is good he got fired as I want to be hired to correctly serve nuts on her chin.

Korean Air Lines Co. said Tuesday it was “natural” for Cho to fault crew’s ignorance of procedures.

Cho Hyun-ah should be released from KAL immediately — but instead the airline stood behind her, as is apparent from the quote above. Moreover, the captain neglected to fulfill his role in ensuring passenger safety by booting Cho Hyun-ah from the plane (obviously he was intimidated by her). I won't be flying KAL, where nepotism trumps common sense. No wonder they have safety issues.

Cho Hyun-ah made a scene, caused a flight delay, and possibly compromised the safety of everyone on board the plane. Those are major transgressions far in excess of the flight attendant's serving bagged nuts. She is obviously incompetent, and should be swiftly fired from the company.

This Korean's nutcase reveals many things of Korean culture. Nepotism (blood lineage!) seems normal way of doing business from N.Korea ruling mafia of Kim's dynasty, the Moon's cult group, this one, and many more.... Her ego is too high and overheated above the well being of others. She should wait to discipline the crew upon landing. Toughness, arrogant are not recipes for perfect inbound flight. Try humility, courtesy, and humbleness as sources of strength for a change, will you?

Wow, what an arrogant, self absorbed snot! Throwing a tantrum like a spoiled child. I don't care if she is 40 years old or not, this little brat needs a good old fashioned spanking. Her doting daddy might be well advised to do that once in a while instead of promoting her to positions of power she obviously can't handle.

sfgate.com: Company officials said that Chairman Cho Yang-ho has accepted the resignation of Cho Hyun-ah, his eldest daughter and an executive vice president.

South Korea’s government said it is investigating whether Cho violated aviation safety law. Cho could face legal action if the probe shows that she interrupted the flight or endangered safety by using threats, her status or violence.

This. A passenger, even one employed by the airline, cannot interfere with the assigned flight crew in any manner. If she felt the crew member was to be fired, she would have to do so AFTER the flight was completed, not before. Cho must go.

Korean Air Lines Co. said Tuesday it was “natural” for Cho to fault crew’s ignorance of procedures.

Given her position in the company, I'd agree. But there's a world of difference between faulting the employee's knowledge, and ordering the employee off the plane.

"The nuts also should have been served on a plate."

And not just any old plate, it has to be an expensive plate, lol.

She should be married to North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un. It's a really nut case. Isn't it?

' The captain of the plane should have EJECTED this twit herself, he has that authority.'

Too right. Maybe his nuts weren't big enough.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

What a spoiled brat.

" But the company said the decision to disembark the crew member was made by the flight’s captain."

Yeah, we believe that.

Nut rage!

Thanks for the tip on this asinine behavior of elitists, won't fly them if this is how they adhere to aviation operation. The captain of the plane should have EJECTED this twit herself, he has that authority.

Once flew to French on Korean, business class, in the era before iPods and iPhones. The movies they had to show were in French and Korean, nothing in English. And no power for laptops on planes at the time.

I was not amused.

Snotty self-entitled elitists. Just like a lot of rich people really.

How about 2nd class? Flight attendants just toss them out there?

Ergo the bag. If you are allergic to nuts, don't open the bag.

either the nuts are fired out through the use of multiple slingshots, or they just let the groundlings starve.

A person variously described as the chief flight attendant or the purser was put off, because a junior attendant served the nuts in an incorrect fashion.

But the plane was only delayed 10 minutes (said Chosun Ilbo; AP said 20 minutes). Doesn't seem like enough time to bring in a replacement for the senior person. What if a real emergency had taken place later, without the senior person's guidance available?

Cabin crew are required to ask first class passengers whether they want nuts, partly to avoid serving them to people with allergies.

Cho, 40,

Sure that wasn't supposed to read "Cho, 4"? She certainly was acting like a 4 year old.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

It's currently the top story at Chosun Ilbo online (English version of site). Story #2 is her having twins in Hawaii, an old story from last May. Story #8 is from June about her suing a few netizens for alleging her kids were anchor babies.

Those honey nuts served on Korean Airlines are pretty disgusting anyway, served either in a bag or rolling around on a plate. Dry roasted would be much better, IMHO. As to this woman's actions, it seems she was not really there in her official capacity, but simply as a passenger, in which case, she probably overstepped the mark.

The little hot-head probably should have waited until the plane landed in Seoul to dress down the crew member rather than inciting a quarrel in first class. Make the errant crew member sit back in economy for 14 hours. That'll teach 'em a lesson!
