NRA thinks they are untouchable. We shall see.

I want to hear that Russian money went to the NRA that then went to various GOP candidates' campaign accounts. Then I want all those people- whether elected or not- arrested. Those in office, forced to resign.

When Oliver North appears to show more integrity than your entire organization, that is one stinky organization you got there.

18 ( +23 / -5 )

Good on her! Finally, a step towards some sanity in that country.

13 ( +20 / -7 )

"I want to hear that Russian money went to the NRA"

I had forgotten about that ! And what was the lovely Ms. Buttina up too?

Guns and ammo sales are helping the Trump economy from sinking even lower. Expect Trump to issue a tweet in support of the NRA.

NRA is trying to remain relevant and a force in the 2020 presidential election as it seeks to help Trump secure a second term.

Will Russia provide money to the NRA again in their mutual support of Trump and his Republican ilk. Why would an organization like the NRA, which tries to present itself as 'patriotic', collaborate with a foreign state. hmmm LOL SMH

Draining the swamp, at last.

He already did.

Just like Radical Left New York is trying to destroy the NRA, if Biden becomes President your GREAT SECOND AMENDMENT doesn’t have a chance. Your guns will be taken away, immediately and without notice. No police, no guns!

Trump's going to try and get every bit of fear that he can wring out of this. I mean, don't you know that if Biden wins, that come November 4th all the BLM people are going to sneak into your house, take all your guns, and you know what'll happen to your daughters, right? Right?

4 ( +7 / -3 )

Dems doing their authoritarian thing again. Now people cannot even support one of the Bill of Rights amendments to the Constitution. The entire Democrat party is going hard Left even harder now than when Obama was president. Actions like this further add to the Dems tyrannical view of governance. If you aren’t with the them you are the enemy and must be destroyed. It’s no longer possible to live and let live. Agree with the new neo-Marxist catechism or get fired from your job, kicked out of the club, ban from online forums, doxed, and hounded while eating out with your family. Sad to see America falling apart so quickly.

-14 ( +8 / -22 )

PTownsend: Why would an organization like the NRA, which tries to present itself as 'patriotic', collaborate with a foreign state. hmmm LOL SMH

Good question- like why would an organization like the DNC and the Clinton campaign funnel money to Russia for disinformation to influence the 2016 election and to damage the Trump administration from even before his inauguration? LOL SMH.

-11 ( +8 / -19 )

Dems doing their authoritarian thing again.

That's a perspective. Another is Republicans want to have the government ignore fraud when it's done by groups like the NRA who support Republicans. Say, isn't the Republican's Trump alleged to have involvements in fraud. TrumpU.

6 ( +14 / -8 )

Now people cannot even support one of the Bill of Rights amendments to the Constitution.

Of course they can. They don’t need the NRA to do that. Particularly if it’s taking their subs and charitable donations and spending them on private travel, security and other interests.

12 ( +14 / -2 )

Actions like this further add to the Dems tyrannical view of governance. If you aren’t with the them you are the enemy and must be destroyed. It’s no longer possible to live and let live.

Conservatives like yourself love to talk about the 2A and how its meant to protect citizens from a tyrannical government, unless of course the tyranny is coming from a conservative government, you look the other way. You only care about YOUR rights and freedoms, like the freedom to not wear a mask because your brain is smaller than the virus itself.

9 ( +16 / -7 )

The NRA collapse continues.

8 ( +13 / -5 )

Well, they these people just secured Trump’s second term.

-13 ( +6 / -19 )

Now people cannot even support one of the Bill of Rights amendments to the Constitution.

Got any facts to back that statement up or are you just using your imagination?

You do realise that you can still own a gun without the nra, right? Or are you a vocal supporter of corruption and illegal financing?

Don’t talk about the Clintons and DNC, focus on the news story.

4 ( +11 / -7 )

Sevenseas: Of course they can. They don’t need the NRA to do that. Particularly if it’s taking their subs and charitable donations and spending them on private travel, security and other interests.

You mean like the leaders of Unions that spend tens of millions on politics while also paying for big houses and private travel for their executives? Don’t see Letitia trying to dissolve them. Pure partisan politics. Dems are brazenly using politicized prosecutors more and more since Hillary’s attempted coup.

Kumagaijin: You only care about YOUR rights and freedoms, like the freedom to not wear a mask because your brain is smaller than the virus itself.

Of course I care about my rights and freedoms. Incidentally my rights and freedoms are the same rights and freedoms that everyone else has. I am not a gun owner but if I were living in Minneapolis today, with police defunding only months away, I would be crazy not to acquire a gun. If you cannot protect yourself the city certainly isn’t going to be there to do so. Incidentally the current lawlessness spreading throughout America’s big cities has led to record gun sales. The more the Left goes after guns the more Americans buy them. It’s astounding to see this dynamic time after time.

By the way - it is a shame that you choose to attack me personally over a difference of opinion. It doesn’t help.

-10 ( +7 / -17 )

The NRA isn't an organization that guarantees second amendment rights. Whether the organization remains or disappears, Americans will always have their second amendment rights.

If there is criminality in the organization, it should be punished according to the law.

@Wolfpack, @bass4funk

Do you think the NRA should be given a pass and not investigated for wrongdoings?

8 ( +12 / -4 )

poor liberals. your media spent all day speculating that this huge national announcement was going to be something about Trump. We got him this time! ummm no.

-8 ( +6 / -14 )

Democrats are out of their mind if they think they can dissolve the second amendment or Americans arming and defending themselves.

More imagination and fear mongering.

3 ( +10 / -7 )

poor liberals. your media spent all day speculating that this huge national announcement was going to be something about Trump. We got him this time! ummm no.

You really are an imaginative bunch.

4 ( +9 / -5 )

More imagination and fear mongering.

Yeah, liberals continue to say that and it’s ok, they can try to convince themselves of that.

-10 ( +6 / -16 )

no, I just watched the liberal news 1 hr prior to the announcement up until it was announced.

Once it wasnt related to Trump, they cut the feed while the lady was still rambling on about the NRA.

Maybe she thinks if she does a good job on the NRA, she can be VP candidate?

You really are an imaginative bunch.

-13 ( +4 / -17 )

Not surprising trump supporters are fine with the corruption at NRA.

Considering that their own leader stole money from a Children's cancer charity, this seems like a minor offense.

8 ( +12 / -4 )

You can have a guns rights group if you want, you just can't have a corrupt one.

5 ( +9 / -4 )

Yeah, liberals continue to say that and it’s ok, they can try to convince themselves of that.

I said it, I can’t speak for these ‘liberals’ you are worried about.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

You can have a guns rights group if you want, you just can't have a corrupt one.

Like, “if you like your Doctor you can keep it?”

-10 ( +4 / -14 )

Im not a news organization with all my headlines being speculation.

I am disappointed too. I was hoping they finally got around to looking into what was on the Anthony Weiner laptop or the corruption in the Clinton Foundation. But of course, it has to be a political attack on the NRA.

Which is good, because gun ownership in the age of Antifa is skyrocketing, lots of voters who are new gun owners.

-9 ( +4 / -13 )

New York’s attorney general sued the National Rifle Association on Thursday, seeking to put the powerful gun advocacy organization out of business over claims that top executives illegally diverted tens of millions of dollars for lavish personal trips, no-show contracts for associates and other questionable expenditures.

If the same standards were applied to trump, the trump corporation should have been dissolved 3 years ago.

Personal trips to his own golf courses at government expense, ivanka using a government funded trip to conduct personal business, don jr getting government to pay for secret service escort to a personal trip to Mongolia to hunt sheep......

For the trump supporters bigotry negates corruption!!!!

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Biden is supposedly a "moderate" expecting to get the votes of Dem and independent moderates.

There are a lot of Dem/Independent voters who are also gun owners. This wont help Biden at all and will likely backfire and cost him votes. Should have saved it for after the election.

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

Thank God she’s getting countersued and this will secure Trump’s second term.

Again, no gun owner believes the Democrats.

-7 ( +4 / -11 )

Not surprising trump supporters are fine with the corruption at NRA.

That's right. Its not surprising. And they are not going to change by force.

It seems to me that NRA members are also fine with the corruption, but isn't it their money supposedly being misused? Well, its not if the stupid members are fine with it. And so, there is a basis for accusations of over-reach here.

I totally despise the NRA. I strongly support the Second Amendment, but their ideas about the Right to Bear Arms are dangerous and irresponsible in my opinion. But I cannot deny the NRA has been extremely successful pushing those ideas on the country, and so, in the eyes of NRA members, NRA leaders can do no wrong.

Being heavy handed here is going to be a mistake. NRA members will take this personally and fight back. The only way forward is to expose the corruption and hope the members come to their senses and leave the organization out of disgust at their leaders' behavior. If we don't let the NRA implode naturally, it will be viewed as a martyr. We really don't want that.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Consider the NRA gave $30 million to the Trump 2016 campaign. There are individual democrats who gave more- Tom Steyer for example or Michael Bloomberg. As far as big lobbying groups in Washington, the NRA doesn&t even crack the top 20. Those are primarily big pharma and medical groups. Any wonder a vaccine is being pushed so hard these days...

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

not my imagination. James is a candidate for Attorney General if Biden wins.

Because she sues Trump a lot, and thats "good".

https://newrepublic.com/article/156844/biden-sanders-next-attorney-general

But the relentless lawfare of the Trump era has offered Democrats no shortage of potential DOJ chiefs. State attorneys general like California’s Xavir Becerra and New York’s Tish James rose to prominence through lawsuits against the Trump administration.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

Which is good, because gun ownership in the age of Antifa is skyrocketing, lots of voters who are new gun owners.

Why do you think antifa supporters should have guns? To protect themselves from the police?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

There are a lot of Dem/Independent voters who are also gun owners. This wont help Biden at all and will likely backfire and cost him votes. Should have saved it for after the election.

But the evidence has been collected and is able to be applied now. Do you understand the basic concept that justice and partisan politics should be separate?

4 ( +7 / -3 )

"Dems doing their authoritarian thing again. Now people cannot even support one of the Bill of Rights amendments to the Constitution. The entire Democrat party is going hard Left even harder now than when Obama was president. Actions like this further add to the Dems tyrannical view of governance. The prosecution is about financial misconduct by a registered non-profit organization. Like I alluded to earlier the NRA thinks the 2nd Amendment gives them license to break any law they wish. When they get caught breaking the law they cry the prosecution violates the 2nd Amendment. I think most of us are not fooled by their crocodile tears. Even someone as slippery as Oliver North called the NRA leadership on their crooked ways.

On a separate note, I've been shot twice while driving. Once I had two windows blown out of a loaded school bus as I as pulling to the curb for my first stop of the afternoon. The first window blew out right behind my head. The second sent a cascade of glass onto a little girl. Needless to say the kids who were supposed to get off at the first stop had to walk home from the second stop. The second time, I discovered a bullet hole in my car when I parked it after coming home from work in Signal Hill. The bullet is down in the quarter panel somewhere. I just replaced the broken lights, left the hole behind the light housing and still drive the car. That was 26 yeas ago btw. The first time was 41 yeas ago. Good honest gun owners. Bunch of yahoos.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

well, your team just opened a politically charged investigation 3 months before the election. You have not separated justice and politics whatsoever.

That was dumb,

But the evidence has been collected and is able to be applied now. Do you understand the basic concept that justice and partisan politics should be separate?

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

"You’re wrong on both accounts, if the Democrats take power and especially now of course they would get rid of the second amendment and No one, not a single gun owner believes they wouldn’t."

That is such a silly comment. To amend the US Constitution first requires a 2/3 majority vote of both houses of Congress or the state legislatures of 2/3 of the states must vote to convene a constitutional convention. A proposed amendment must then be ratified by the legislatures of 3/4 of the states. If you think any political party can do this today, get 3/4 of the states to agree to revoke the 2nd amendment you are using some strong medications. Quit foaming at the mouth and spouting nonsense. The process to alter the US Constitution basically makes it all but impossible to change unless the reason is extaordinarily compelling. Revoking the 2nd Amendment isn't going to happen.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

to protect themselves from the Antifa roaming the residential areas and trespassing on private property, like in Portland.

Once you defund the police, everyone needs a gun to protect themselves from these violent looters. I thought once "the feds left" they would stop?

Nope. now they are violently attacking the state and local police. can see it every night on livestream. The attacked a woman at her home last night, people getting shot in Portland (not by police) has tripled compared to July of last year....on and on.

Why do you think antifa supporters should have guns? To protect themselves from the police?

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

well, your team just opened a politically charged investigation 3 months before the election. You have not separated justice and politics whatsoever.

You first criticized the New York AG for not delaying a case for political gain, and now you're saying that the New York AG is bringing the case for political gain.

Could you please, just once, try to stay on message.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

to protect themselves from the Antifa roaming the residential areas and trespassing on private property, like in Portland.

Why would antifa supporters need to protect themselves from antifa? Reread what I wrote.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

That's right. Its not surprising. And they are not going to change by force.

Nor should we and never will.

It seems to me that NRA members are also fine with the corruption, but isn't it their money supposedly being misused? Well, its not if the stupid members are fine with it. And so, there is a basis for accusations of over-reach here.

And yet Liberals are just fine with corruption with the teachers unions PP or even when they weaponized the IRS under Lois Lerner to take out conservative donors back in 2014 Dejavu? Liberal are either oblivious or tolerant of corruption when it’s coming from their bigger donors.

I’m a member of the NRA and been for over 20 years and they have always been an obstacle and an impediment to full reign of the Democrats social order of implementing the radical ideas. The NRA has been a headache for Democrats for years. And putting all the reassuring rhetoric that they would never go after the second amendment, their past comments and undertones to push to abolish the NRA is so apparent.

Being heavy handed here is going to be a mistake. NRA members will take this personally and fight back.

I hope so, that’s why this woman will be countersued.

The only way forward is to expose the corruption and hope the members come to their senses and leave the organization out of disgust at their leaders' behavior.

Hardly.

https://www.bu.edu/articles/2020/new-gun-subculture-on-the-rise-in-liberal-states-stricter-gun-laws/

-9 ( +2 / -11 )

Correction, I should have said to propose an amendment requires a 2/3 vote of both houses of Congress or convening a constitutional convention. All that does is create a proposed amendment for consideration. It still requires the legislatures of 3/4 of the states to ratify the amendment. Consider that the Equal Rights Amendment was submitted to the states in 1972 and was never ratified by the required 3/4 of the state's legislatures and five states revoked their previous ratification.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

trump will issue a statement soon standing with the NRA, just because their corruption pales in comparison to his.

And for the second term, trump himself has given up on it, that's the reason he is out golfing most days.

Try getting the government to fund his failing resorts who are going to file for bankruptcy in January!!!

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Correct, She brings the case for her own political gain. To be seen as a team player, willing to do anything to become Attorney Genral.

She did not delay the case for the political gain of her Democratic party.

You do realize that not delaying and bringing mean the same thing dont you?

So yes the case was not delayed for her political gain, The same case was also brought (not delayed), for the political gain of her party.

You first criticized the New York AG for not delaying a case for political gain, and now you're saying that the New York AG is bringing the case for political gain.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

I am obviously speaking of protecting innocent people from Antifa once police are defunded.

There is no need to protect Antifa from the police. Antifa supporters can protect themselves by going home and not violently attacking people, including law enforcement, in the streets.

Homeowners at home need protection from Antifa and other criminals.

Why would antifa supporters need to protect themselves from antifa? Reread what I wrote.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

Correct, She brings the case for her own political gain. To be seen as a team player, willing to do anything to become Attorney Genral.

She did not delay the case for the political gain of her Democratic party.

Doing something that would hurt the Democratic Party would prove that she isn't a team player. You need to re-examine your thinking process.

You do realize that not delaying and bringing mean the same thing dont you?

They don't. To use a line you've tried many times over the last few weeks, "the fact that they have different names proves that they're different".

5 ( +6 / -1 )

I am obviously speaking of protecting innocent people from Antifa once police are defunded.

You contended that there are many new gun owners because of antifa. I contend that most right wing gun nuts will own guns already. So, antifa must be buying the guns, to protect themselves from our violent, gangsterish police force. I am asking why you think this is a good thing.

It isn't a crime to be anti-fascist, by the way. Much as you'd like it to be.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Because they arent smart enough to realize they just made a huge political mistake. She doesnt know what she did will backfire, she is just trying to move up the ranks and made a huge error.

Doing something that would hurt the Democratic Party would prove that she isn't a team player. You need to re-examine your thinking process.

Someone needs to go back to high school English. They dont have different NAMES (noun). these are actions and both are similar. Like sound=not silent.

They don't. To use a line you've tried many times over the last few weeks, "the fact that they have different names proves that they're different".

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

the push to defund the police in these Antifa infested areas has led to huge increase in gun ownership. To include Democrats. Suburban women in particular are uncomfortable to know that if they call the police, there is no guarantee that someone will come if the Dem policy goes in effect.

At the same time, Dems will restrict gun ownership and likely halt gun sales somehow, so now is the time.

So no, Antifa dont need guns to protect themselves from Antifa. But everyone else does. Dems, independents and Republicans.

You contended that there are many new gun owners because of antifa. I contend that most right wing gun nuts will own guns already. So, antifa must be buying the guns, to protect themselves from our violent, gangsterish police force. I am asking why you think this is a good thing.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

Because they arent smart enough to realize they just made a huge political mistake. She doesnt know what she did will backfire, she is just trying to move up the ranks and made a huge error.

It wasn't a political decision: when the AG can bring charges of a crime, they have a responsibility to do so, without delay. You need to re-examine your thinking specifically because you are seeing eViL dEmOcRaTs everywhere. It's no way to live.

both are similar

"Similar" is not "the same". Just like I've tried to educate you that 6 is not 15. Back to kindergarten you go.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

the push to defund the police in these Antifa infested areas has led to huge increase in gun ownership. To include Democrats. Suburban women in particular are uncomfortable to know that if they call the police, there is no guarantee that someone will come if the Dem policy goes in effect.

What Democratic policy is this?

At the same time, Dems will restrict gun ownership and likely halt gun sales somehow

If only.

So no, Antifa dont need guns to protect themselves from Antifa. But everyone else does. Dems, independents and Republicans.

No, they don't.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

At the same time, Dems will restrict gun ownership and likely halt gun sales somehow, so now is the time.

No they will do that in incremental steps. Remember, just like the promise, “if you like your doctor you can keep him?” Lois Lerner taking the fifth multiple times when asked was it intentional to Weaponized the IRS to take out conservative donors in 2014. Funny how many Democrats wouldn’t comment if they owned a gun or not, but many of them as well as the Hollywood elite that are for bringing down the NRA have their own private security and it’s ok for the rich and powerful to defend and protect themselves, but the rest of us “Nope!” We just need to rely on the police, butt what police? With Democrats wanting to defund them and as many of them seeking retirement in record numbers and as many of them are overworked and can’t respond quickly, we just don’t have the right to protect ourselves, we just have to be sitting victims. Never going to happen.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

The NY AG is trying to benefit herself, politically. (She wants to be AG or maybe even VP) She is trying to benefit the Democrats, politically (she thinks this will somehow negatively impact the election).

Literally all of this is speculation. No "truth" here.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

New York’s attorney general sued the National Rifle Association on Thursday, seeking to put the powerful gun advocacy organization out of business over claims that top executives illegally diverted tens of millions of dollars for lavish personal trips, no-show contracts for associates and other questionable expenditures.

Still, the lawsuit made only civil claims. James said the investigation was ongoing and any criminal activity discovered would be referred to prosecutors and the Internal Revenue Service.

Hahaha. The election is over. The NRA is a private organization. Some democrat in NYC "claims" that some of the leaders of the NRA are corrupt so the whole organization must be disbanded. Who does this lunatic think she is protecting? Biden? This is just another democrat party political attempt to ban firearms in the U.S.. In the U.S., black people own firearms, gay people own firearms, women own firearms, men own firearms, democrats, Republicans, and independents own firearms. And they vote. They all support the 2nd Amendment. And they vote. The democrat party has just committed political suicide.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

I ask again: what policy is it? Where is it in the DNC platform?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Again, no gun owner believes the Democrats.

Got any evidence or is that just your speculation?

Im pretty sure there’s at least one gun owner who will vote Democrat.

Could you google up a news item?

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Exactly even the liberals that may not like Trump or the ones that like him but won’t say, but spot on.

They all support the 2nd Amendment. And they vote. The democrat party has just committed political suicide.

Pretty much. It was the absolute dumbest decision they could ever do.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

Like, “if you like your Doctor you can keep it?”

Nah, more along the lines of "we'll be announcing our 'phenomenal' health care plan within two weeks/months/a few days," as was said multiple times over the past four years or so. Right up there with 'repeal and replace.'

2 ( +5 / -3 )

They dont have a platform.

Oh, so it's not a Democratic Party policy. Thank you for confirming that. I find it weird that you described "defunding the police" as a policy before, when you knew for a fact it wasn't, but whatever.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Got any evidence or is that just your speculation?

https://freebeacon.com/coronavirus/july-breaks-gun-sales-record-as-gun-companys-earnings-triple/

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

That link doesn't even mention Biden, let alone a statistic that "no gun owner believes Biden". Could you give us a link that proves that?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

That is evidence that no Democrat has a gun? Huh?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Over 100 million Americans own guns, about 30% of the population, but NRA membership is just 5 million. 1 in 20 gun owners. A minority in a minority.

If you’re counting on those votes to win, you’re deluded.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Black:. (She wants to be AG or maybe even VP)

Far too many of your explanations for your rival's actions come down to you reading their minds and "seeing" that they are corrupt inside.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

No, he’s not about speculation. Just the facts Ma’am, just the facts.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

it doesn’t have to mention Biden, the Democrats have been saying for years what do you want to do and how they want to confiscate guns, just listen to Beto O’Rourke, no one believes the Democrat party when they say that they want to protect gun rights, no one believes that.

Sorry that is like saying to Democrats the Republicans would never try to abolish abortion.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Redirecting funding from buying military vehicles to, say, training, keeps money in the police, even if it is used differently. I would cut all funds that buy military equipment for police, but, again, I'm not in charge.

All the more reason why Dems will lose For exactly that statement.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Good. Get rid of these corrupt cabal of crazies that currently lead the NRA and do nothing but line their pockets and scam their members...

Start a new gun organizations with real, responsible firearms enthusiasts and hunters - who support keeping guns out of the hands of nuts and terrorists...and want common sense gun control.

Chase out all the gun nutters - those that only keep their weapons because they feel powerless and have been filled with fear by the far-right. The Kens and Karens who don't even know the difference between the barrel and the stock, and only want heir guns to protect their hoard of toilet paper.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

I support this effort. We responsible gun owners and firearms enthusiasts need to clean the fear-filled gun nutters out of our organizations.

These people don't use their firearms for recreation or sport - they stockpile their basements with assault weapons because they feel helpless and scared. Their guns give them their only sense of power.

They cower in their bunker-like basements and binge watch Fox News where they hear every talking head buffoon say BLM and Antifa are just outside their doors. It used to be jack-booted federal troops coming to take their guns that they were told to fear but that changed with Portland...they're good guys now.

These people shouldn't be entrusted with firearms - they're haven't the maturity or emotional stability..

3 ( +4 / -1 )

I think some people are confusing support for the 2nd Amendment with support for a corrupt NRA.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Long time coming. This corrupt death cult needs closing down and its members should be attending deprogramming sessions.

James is incredibly brave to do this. She will be villified, the subject of death threats and smeared.

As regards timing, there's never a good time to tackle this monstrosity. That's what the NRA are always saying. No gun control but lots of thoughts and prayers.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

I disagree, attacking the NRA is not going to serve the Democrats well at all, there is nothing wrong with the NRA and there’s absolutely everything right with them protecting the Second Amendment and it will continue to, the Democrats really bit the lion on this one.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

we just don’t have the right to protect ourselves, we just have to be sitting victims.

The violent, far right, militarized US. Always playing the victim, always "protecting" themselves by killing and maiming innocents, at home and abroad.

Always claiming their rights to kill others (by bearing arms or not wearing masks, etc) is paramount.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

there is nothing wrong with the NRA

Aside from the corruption, you mean?

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Yeah, liberals continue to say that and it’s ok, they can try to convince themselves of that.

I know conservatives who support gun control in your country. Some of them even have questioned the undue influence the NRA has in everyday life and policies.

Why is the word "liberal" applied to everything the right disagree with?

Wonder if they ever sit down to a meal and when the food arrives, "oh noes, there's pickles with this, I can't eat them, they're liberal"...

4 ( +5 / -1 )

The violent, far right, militarized US.

Thanks to the far left liberals they woke up sleeping giant, but in all seriousness, that was just the dumbest thing this woman could do.

Always claiming their rights to kill others

People rioting and looting, people attacking and killing people that voted for Trump, liberals they try to kill Steve Scalise and the destruction of public property and let’s not forget what the liberals have done recently in Seattle it all the young children that were killed, that has nothing to do with the NRA and the NRA wasn’t involved, that was all liberals.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

What waste of time. When this AG decides he’s gone sue Big (take your pick), then he might actually be attempting to accomplish something sincere. This is just for the headlines and his career. Again, the left misses an opportunity and shoots themselves in the foot once again. They will lose. They need to go back to supporting working families, unions, and Main Street stuff.

I am sure there are a few that exist, just like there are a few Democrats that support the NRA.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

We already have that, it’s called the NRA.

You HAD that. Up until 1977 when, among other changes, their motto went from, "Firearms Safety Education, Marksmanship Training, Shooting for Recreation.” to "...the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

Dems doing their authoritarian thing again.

Amen brother! The constitution protects every citizens' right to use money donated to a tax exempt non-profit organization to pay for their trips to the Bahamas and.....well to just gift themselves 17 million dollars without board approval in exchange for nothing at all.

Stupid authoritarian libs, don't even know the constitution.

Well and to that point liberals didn’t try to infringe on the second amendment in those days, they were still in the after glows of the hippie revolution and didn’t care about it and now they THINK they can attack and dismantle the organization, this couldn’t have been a bigger win for Trump. Again, the vast majority of gun owners do not support Biden or trust any Democrat on this issue, but yes, times have changed a lot.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Dissolve and deport these scumbags to work camps in North Korea!

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Again, no gun owner believes the Democrats.

I am sure there are a few that exist, just like there are a few Democrats that support the NRA.

Nice to see you’ve toned down your stance over the past couple of hours.

There is a beginning of hope even if shades of grey are acknowledged.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Nice to see you’ve toned down your stance

Nothing to tone down, I just think this woman is totally stupid for even trying to think she can take on the NRA and win. Smh....

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

"Hahaha. The democrat party has just committed political suicide."

NRA is incorporated in New York as a non-profit corporation. As such it is required to obey the laws that apply to such organizations and that includes fiduciary responsibility to the donors. NRA is accused of violating a number of state laws that govern New York non profit corporations, giving the New York AG grounds to take legal action against them. Specifically Wayne LePierre used charitable donations for personal use including eight trips with his family to the Bahamas. Often an advertising firm would pay for these trips, use of private jets, luxury cars and the like, then turn around and bill the NRA as if these were costs incurred for advertising. These are pretty clear violations of the laws that govern charitable corporations incorporated under New York (or any other state's) law.

“No one is above the law, not even the NRA, one of the most powerful organizations in this country," James said.

I had read a number of posts from rightists pushing for more law and order. Curious why they're supporting this right wing organization's fraud, defending illegal activiites. hmmm.

Curious why they're supporting this right wing organization's fraud, defending illegal activiites. hmmm.

Theyre not, it’s the leftists that want to take down and take on one of the strongest organizations that has some of the most powerful conservative donors In an election year, so ironic....

"Correct, She brings the case for her own political gain. To be seen as a team player, willing to do anything to become Attorney Genral."

State AGs are elected. If there is widespread popular demand to prosecute a particular lawbreaker and the AG refuses the AG risks being voted out of office by a competitor. AGs are answerable to their constituents. That is how elected representative government works. If the prosecutor cannot produce evidence sufficient to convince a jury to convict then the defendant walks and the AG looks foolish. It is ultimately up to a court to decide if a crime was actually committed. Based on what Oliver North said before being fired I will make a prediction that this AG has a good case going in. My only question for you is, would you let any other tax exempt charitable corporation use their charitable donations for the CEOs personal use including half a billion bucks for 8 trips to the Bahamas in a three year period in violation of the laws under which they are incorporated? My guess is that were it any other charity you would be outraged. But the NRA? Oh, that's different. Right.

What waste of time. When this AG decides he’s gone sue Big (take your pick), then he might actually be attempting to accomplish something sincere. This is just for the headlines and his career.

The AG is suing Big (take your pick): Big Guns.

The AG is a woman, by the way. Do take the time to read the article next time.

liberals didn’t try to infringe on the second amendment in those days, they were still in the after glows of the hippie revolution and didn’t care about it

I don't know about that. Before 1977, on a federal level, there was a law banning the mailing of concealable weapons in 1927, the National Firearms Act of 1934, the Federal Firearms Act of 1938, and the Gun Control Act of 1968, and the ATF was created in 1972. Most of which was supported by the NRA.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Are you suggesting fraud and corruption should just be ignored?

Yes. The right always think this when criminals are wealthy.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

"I am sure there are a few that exist, just like there are a few Democrats that support the NRA"

I have shot plenty of firearms in my life but what bugs me about the NRA is that they make it so easy for idiots like the ones who shot at me to get a gun and do stupid things with it. Every fourth of July and New Years Eve every good honest god loving gun owner is outside firing guns into the air seemingly oblivious that what goes up is going to come down, often through someone's roof with occasionally tragic results. It's stupid. When are these so called responsible gun owners going to clean up their act and allow the state to police the sale of firearms so they don't end up in the wrong hands? Right now any idiot can buy a firearm and by golly you have a lot of idiots out there with firearms doing stupid things with them. For the honest and intelligent gun owners that ought to make the blood boil. Instead they protect the idiots and the rest of us have to suffer as a result. NRA and the gun owners own that fact. Whether you realize it or not your stubborn refusal to clean up your act so guns are hard for criminals to get (meaning a searchable data base at ATF instead of the highly restricted filing system Congress limits them to at the demands of the NRA) and start to cut the level of gun violence in the US. And why does anyone but special forces, certain intelligence units or a mob hit man need a silencer?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

And how is it "dumb" to challenge the unelected body that holds so much political sway and stamps out and smears any dissent?

Well, you’re making my point for me, that is what this woman is trying to do exactly that step and smear out dissent

This is hyperbolic nonsense.

No, it happened and The hyperbolic nonsense would’ve been he would’ve been dead had the two bodyguards that were with him not return fire or not armed, because the killer on that day we shouted and he wanted to kill every Republican on the baseball field.

Now you have unmarked federal cops swiping people off the streets,

Yes and Rightfully so, if you have uniform police officers going in marked cars, they would have been attacked and assaulted and their cars destroyed and considering the fact that the Democrats will do everything to drop state charges this is something that the federal government was not willing to except when these thugs we’re going to attack and destroy federal property. The only way to make sure that these people don’t get away with crimes is these Civil Law Enforcement agents is to use the same elements of surprise tactics that they are using against the cops. They are not brought to the Gulag, they are arrested and read the Miranda rights and they are processed and prosecuted and I hope they get lengthy prison sentences (Which they should) and this time because it’s federal they can’t get the charges dropped

Rage against the liberal bogeyman

Not a boogie man, all you can do is take a look at every liberal city that’s out of control.

again, this move has just secured Trump a second term

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

No, it happened and The hyperbolic nonsense would’ve been he would’ve been dead had the two bodyguards that were with him not return fire or not armed, because the killer on that day we shouted and he wanted to kill every Republican on the baseball field.

What are you talking about??

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Dems doing their authoritarian thing again. Now people cannot even support one of the Bill of Rights amendments to the Constitution.

once again for those that cant seem to grasp it. The NRA isnt the constitution or the 2nd amendment,

they are an association that is accountable for their corruption under the law. Nobody is immune to the law and that includes the POTUS, so why should the NRA be any different

The 2nd amendment cannot be changed unless a 2/3 supermajority in the house and senate passes legislation to do that, this is highly unlikely.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

The funny part is the NRA members protesting the move are the ones being taken for a ride.

Their contributions are paying for the manicures and pedicures of the NRA management.

Not a surprise for an organization representing small brains and big guns!!

5 ( +5 / -0 )

again, this move has just secured Trump a second term

I admire you optimism , but 2020 is far from 2016.

Funny thing is Trump thought there was going to be a landslide in 2018 midterm, he was right but it was a 10 million vote Dem landslide that cost the Republicans the house

3 ( +3 / -0 )

'A fool and this money are soon parted' is a fitting description of NRA members.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

The existence of the NRA is not up for debate, the Inditement of those skimming millions of dollars IS, no problem with that.

Go get 'em, whoever, but as soon as you CONDEMN the entire organization, you have just shot yourself in both feet.

Yeah, it's "Just a Coincidence" that it's happeningright before a major election.

Good Luck

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

The point is we can talk about corruption in all these institutions, every one of them. But it’s always funny how liberals will take the position of one and that is, against an organization that is powerful and that supports Republican and conservative causes.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Well, it's the one that's got credible corruption accusations against it, is the thing. If you value "law and order", you should be in favour of the lawsuit.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

against an organization that is powerful and that supports Republican and conservative causes.

Like funding manicures and pedicures for their management.

Or private jet rides, fancy hotels ......

Normal folks call such Organizations cults!!!

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Well, it's the one that's got credible corruption accusations

As do the others, but liberals remained silent on those. Funny not one liberal or Democrat mentioned the injustice of 2014 and all the conservative and Republican donors for being investigated by the IRS, for no reason they were targeted just to take them out with the election cycle.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

As do the others

Like what?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Nice pic of nutbag lePierre.

Constipated, clearly. Poor man.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

So you can make the same argument about these liberal supporting organizations and if Republicans would do the same, I have no doubt the Democrats wouldn’t just sit back and twiddle their thumbs and shrug their shoulders. Of course they wouldn’t and conservatives won’t either with this frivolous lawsuit.

So? Like if the head of the ACLU or Greenpeace or something was being investigated for siphoning millions of donated dollars to enrich him/herself all you conservatives wouldn't be mad about that?

One of your guys got busted, live with it.
