Agreed still to early to form an opinion, doubt that the DNA results are in yet. Those take a few days to weeks, even if sped-up.

DNA evidence also only points to the originator but provides no evidence as to what and when it got deposited unless supported by other evidences, etc.

Example: if the location she gives don't match where the DNA evidence was found it becomes suspect.

This is pure forensic data not about if he did it or not.

Sounds like a case of mistaken identity.

He's having a shower waiting for his escort to arrive. He has specified that she must be black and dressed as a maid... et voila!

So they find his DNA in his room. Yes they can prove he was in the room he rented, very suspicious. The maid spit on his floor, hmmm. If there was intercourse it can be proven by a rape exam, the question is was it done and if not why?

Nah GW, I'm defending the presumption of innocence, clearly a novel idea for yourself.

Looks like this guy thinks forced oral sex is not a problem when you are the top dog of the world. Truly hope he is enlightened in the error of his ways. "devoted family man" my sweet bipee.

With incidents like this the US media can't be trusted. This guy is one of the elite and the establishment 'gatekeeper' media basically self-censors.It makes me ashamed as an American (and a registered Democrat) but it is true. The story also brings back some embarrassing memories of the freakshow revelations that ended the political careers of presidential hopefuls like John Edwards and Al Gore;not to mention the Clinton impeachment.

So I look to the Birtish press. They know the French political world much better and they are not as cowed by the power elite as our reporters are, especially as Obama reveals how thuggish and Nixonian he is.

The Telegraph quoted a French woman who was object of the socialist's lechery and called him (Strauss-Kahn) a "rutting chimpanzee."

Daily Mail beats US hacks to the punch by finding the Manhattan madam who provided Eliot Spitzer with escort prostitutes and she affirms DSK was also a client.

Just what I was thinking Zenny. And with the budget of DSK's enemies, DNA could easily be planted as easily as an attempted sexual assault can be faked.

I've got to the point where I don't believe anybody's version of events.

There has to be a ton of DNA in that room from all the people that stayed or passed through it. Seems quite absurd to me.

I dont know why anyone is surprised about cleaning stuff entering rooms, in Tokyo I always throw the inside latch because if I am staying more than one night in a hotel I am often working late getting to the room 2-4am so am often relaxing in the room around noon the next day & LOTS of times I have had staff open doors & ask if I am in later so to speak, I wud guess it happens 20-30% of the time, so I for one dont find it overly surprising the maid let herself in especially in a large room/suite

From my experience, drugs would not be necessary, but would guarantee a sexual violation. The method can be done w/ no residual evidence, and that is why it is used.

Even if it is there, the evidence in inconclusive. Might have ended up there by a solo-session earlier unless the can time when it got there.

MrDog-I disagree. If they don't find semen in the carpet, there are other evidences: scratch marks both on her and DSK (evidence of fighting). Her maid cloth were also ripped . The semen will bolster the case of the prosecution. With or no trace of semen, I don't think the woman is lying.

...

MrDog -- or another way, even if it is there, who says it wasnt't consensual? If you recall Monica Lewinsky has Bill's semen on a blue dress. And we all know that was very consensual. What does it prove if its on the carpet?

Still, if it's not there, it could be the basis for "reasonable doubt".

It proves that intercourse occured - something that DSK orignially denied.

So, if it's not there, she's a liar.

What hotel does the laundry when the guest is physically present in the room? I smell a conspiracy...

You do, do you? It's an expansive, multi-room suite. According to the accusation, the maid came sometime after noon - when most guests are out, and cleaning takes place - knocked, then announced herself. She had no way of knowing he was there until he popped out of the bathroom, which was on the other side of the suite. What is so hard to grasp about this?

New York detectives and prosecutors believe the carpet in the hotel room may contain Strauss-Kahn’s semen, spat out after an episode of forced oral sex, the officials said.

So, if it's not there, she's a liar.

The hallway he is alleged to have chased her down was inside his $3000 a night suite, so unless you imagine that they put security cameras inside guests' rooms at the Sofitel, I'm really not sure what you are on about.

I wonder why there has been no mention of the video footage from the camera in the hotel hallway. As I understand it, every hotel these days has cameras mounted on each floor. Surely such video footage would settle the question of what happened one way or another.
