Its almost amusing that in the face of protests over government thugs stealing life and freedom the government's go to response is to try and steal more freedom.

They should be having conventions on police reform and issuing daily reports on progress. They should be promising to throw the book at the cops that murdered George Floyd.

Busby:

What a load of BS - all the looters and criminals are nothing more than far-right, white supremacist pro-Trump supporters who are impersonating peaceful protesters

LOL, yeah, but of course. Notice all the Maga hats? A veritable red sea. I want a glass of whatever you had.

@zichi: So how does that explain away all the other police brutality in other cities including one run by republicans.

It doesn’t. But the fact is that the vast majority of these cases occur in Progressive cities. If this is systemic than the vast majority of the problem lies where the problem is occurring. Statistically speaking more unarmed Whites are killed by the police than any other racial group. I would assume thus is not attributed to historical racism. But also blacks are killed in a higher proportion than their population. And these killings are most likely in the places that their populations are concentrated- large urban cities. These are mere facts.

I don’t think anyone benefits by the fact that Progressives are not taking responsibility for a racial problem that is largely concentrated in the cities they have complete political control. The avoidance and finger pointing that has been going on for the past 60 years hasn’t made anything better.

zichi

Police killings of black people have occurred in every major city in America not just what you have called progressive ones.

Police killings of white people too. Only they get no media attention. In a country of 330 million, all sorts of things happen every day. It is not like the media can report every single incident. So if you form an opinion based on what the media feeds you, you simply think what the media makes you think.

If you want to make an informed opinion, you would have to look at statistics. Did you do that?

Protests are one thing, looting and rampant damage of property is an inexcusable Crime.

The NRA must be jumping up and down with glee - saying this is why we need Guns!

You must not have been seeing the looting, burning, assaults on police and business owners all over television. The police in NYC are not stopping the mayhem. The Mayor is sending every person arrested right back out on the streets. The Left now wants to abolish the police altogether- that is their solution. It is no wonder Americans do not trust the government to protect their rights and their lives.

What a load of BS - all the looters and criminals are nothing more than far-right, white supremacist pro-Trump supporters who are impersonating peaceful protesters - and doing nothing but instigating violence.

If Trump wants peace and quiet, he should call off his far-right anarchists dogs - but we won't get that, we'll get more hate-speech...

Or maybe he'll gas some more peaceful protesters and give us another comedy photo op....

Donald Trump with a bible - maybe next time he'll hold up a Clorox bottle...

black oppression?

comments like that show you may not know what you’re talking about.

@zichi: the current situation was born from the brutal police killing of a black guy, George Floyd. That must stop and end.

Well yes - but this all just didn’t start last week. There has been 60 years of failed progressive policies in America’s major urban centers where all of this violence is taking place. Minneapolis is considered a model progressive city. One of the most progressive congressional leaders in the country represents that city. That is no coincidence.

What a load of BS - all the looters and criminals are nothing more than far-right, white supremacist

A load of BS eh? Look who’s talking. Then why would business owners spray paint “black owned business” on their boarded up windows?

invalid CSRF

So are you making a link between police brutality and Minneapolis progressive leader?

Yes. It’s their police force. They select, train, and retain their own police officers as do local jurisdictions everywhere in America. The Progressive leadership is the system. If this is more than a problem of one bad cop then who else is responsible except for the people in charge?

zichi:

From a Trump tweet 37 minutes agao,

"I’ve done more for Black Americans, in fact, than any President in U.S. history, with... "

....and that is correct, considering a booming economy and the cutoff of endless cheap labor. Lowest unemployment in what, a few decades.

However, how convenient a that first comes Corona to shut down the economy, and then a couple of race riots to change the topic entirely. (And also get Obamagate out of the news).

Now tell me the mainstream media don´t have their priorities...

@zchi: Police killings of black people have occurred in every major city in America not just what you have called progressive ones.

I believe I already stated that this is true. There have also been police killings of white people in every major city ( you did not specify a time frame for that so this is an easy conclusion to make). These facts by themselves do not tell us much. But what is informative is that the majority of these incidents occur in major cities. It is also true that a majority of major cities are run by Progressives. It serves no purpose to deny that reality.

You don't have any answers.

I didn’t claim to have answers. I was simply pointing out the most likely cause for why things don’t seem to have improved much for blacks in the last 60 years even though most live in Progressive places.

But since you brought it up, what are the answers? And I hope it’s something different than what Progressives have been doing for the last 60 years. None of that works or something would have changed by now.

@zichi: Black people were disproportionately among those killed, the group found.

Yes - people agree generally with those stats. The question is why are these things occurring mostly in Progressive cities?

You stated that I have no answers. Well, I have not seen yours either. You just keep stating the problem and avoiding the culpability of Progressives.

@zichi: "The rate of police killings is highest in St. Louis

The last Republican mayor of St. Louis was elected in 1945. This has been a solidly Dem city for many generations.

zichi - thanks for the police shooting links. Very informative.

The armed police who are supposed to do this are being made to stand down and are not allowed to so much as push someone out of the way

No wonder people are rioting when such falsehoods are being spread around.

What have they got to lose?

Truth was sacrificed long ago.

It is quite obvious that the media and Democrat party activists want to create and maintain race riots in order to influence the election. Shameful.

Lots of these people should honor the curfew, lawsuits put more fear in police, than any protest, 100 of million of dollars, are paid out for police brutality each year

DeBlasio doesnt want to crack down because he doesnt know if his own daughter is out there defying Daddy's curfew with her friends again.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

This situation is why personal gun ownership is important, actually.

One can easily see that the liberal governments have no interest in protecting citizens, their lives, or their properties. The armed police who are supposed to do this are being made to stand down and are not allowed to so much as push someone out of the way, much less protect anyone from the violent looters and attackers.

The government will protect you! so will the police and even the army if it gets really bad! not if they are not allowed to. You are then all alone and on your own as a citizen.

USD $2.4 million of Rolexs were stolen from the retail store by the heroic Antifa freedom fighters of NYC.

I wonder how that honors Mr. Floyd or Mr. David Dorn, who was murdered by looters.

To me, law breaking and murder wouldnt be happening if the police were allowed to be police.

@zichi: Disobeying curfews is just civil disobedience.

How about running over policemen with cars? Or ganging up and beating them with large metal objects? How about shooting them with guns - is that civil disobedience? Should police, like the border patrol, be abolished? The demonstrators have it in their minds that all of them are part of a systemic white supremacy cabal.

NYC is a disaster. De Blasio is useless. Even Cuomo wants to bring in the National Guard:

The head of a prominent New York City police union told "The Ingraham Angle" Tuesday that President Trump should consider sending federal personnel to prevent more rioting and looting in America's biggest city.

"NYPD is losing the city of New York and we have no leadership in the city of New York right now, from City Hall to the brass of the NYPD," New York Sergeants Benevolent Association President Ed Mullins told Laura Ingraham. "The men and women are being pelted with rocks, bricks, cars [are] lit on fire. And this is continuous. We have a curfew that's been implemented tonight at eight o'clock and everyone is still out rioting in the streets in New York."

Why are police not allowed to do anything or even enforce the curfew?

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

If the police are not allowed to use any force, tear gas or whatever to control protests that escalates into riots and looting, then reinstate use of the latest armoured high-pressure water cannons. They are pretty effective in breaking up riots.
