The sweet fruit of years of Democrat mayors. NYC voters only have themselves to blame.
Happy Day
Radical prosecutors and less police are fueling crime waves in many Democrat-run cities. The U.S. murder rate is at its highest level in 25 years thanks to these cities.
Needless to say, be careful if you have to go to these cities, but especially Asians, who are unfortunately scapegoats for decades of failed governmental policy.

Dont know what you are talking about do you? Just stirring the pot here! Prior to the previous mayor, there were 2 republican one's including, dementia stricken, Giuliani!

Liberal administrations: By their fruits, ye shall know them.

Anyone who has seen Jacobs Ladder, Ghost or the Midnight Meat Train will agree that NYC subways are teeming with ghosts, ghouls and restless spirits and that is apart from the nastiness of the fellow commuters of the earthly variety that one has to deal with.

To quote the great Rick James.....
"cocaine is a hell of a drug!"

Sad to hear that. Crazy cases like that could happen anywhere. Loved my experience commuting mostly on the 4 and the 6 during the late 90's. Iconic despite the subway system there was smelly... and is still smelly now. Love the trains and subways in Tokyo a lot more.. although some here said people are rude. Oh well, world is complicated. I feel it is a lot safer here in general in JP, in public transportation.

Every time there's a US crime reported, the first thing the usual ignorants do is make it political. The fact of the matter is, crime is equally bad across most of the US regardless of political leadership. More lies and assumptions being passed off as fact.
Here are some facts. The states with the highest crime rates per 100,000 in 2020:

The Mayor of NYC doesn't travel; with armed security? Seems unlikely to me......

imagine how Asians feel as the victims of most of this?

It always surprises me to see the amount of conservative right wing americans hanging around on this site, are you guys actually living outside the US? I always imagined these people not having left their home town let alone their country.

When I was visiting New York, I asked the lady at the desk how to get somewhere on the subway. She said something like, “Honey, I don’t like to send anybody on the subway.” She asked if I had ever used it, and I told her I had taken it yesterday to Times Square. “You’ve ridden on the subway then!”, she said. And she told me how and where to go.

I love a good pot stir.
In any case, I do know what I'm talking about: di Blasio was the Democrat mayor for the last 8, when things really started declining. Guiliani did a good job cleaning up NYC considering the Herculean task, followed by Bloomberg (who had been a lifelong Democrat and was only a Republican for the early part of his term, then went independent, before later running in the Democrat presidential primaries).

Well, time to honor your pledge of fighting crime in NYC and do something about it! During his campaign, he sounded like a candidate that all parties can get behind. His first few weeks in office have been disastrous.

I don't blame him - armed pro-Trump domestic terrorists roaming around - just waiting for a chance to kidnap someone or use their "nooses"....
And as noted in an above post, you may want to research crime rate by state per capita....in the Top Ten, the results are Red States 6, Blue States 4....

that photo looks like from some african subway not from world leading country...

Ah yes, the roving bands of white nationalists terrorizing America.... when the reality is that white nationalism is a dead and defunct ideology. Lots of nooses are loose too! /s
Might want to research yourself a little bit on who are the victims of violent crime, and who are the perpetrators. It may open your eyes.
Homeless solution;
remove them from the streets immediately
triage- treatment for addiction/illness
remove from the city area to the countryside
set up farms/workshops in rural areas. Get them some fresh air and sunshine, some honest days of exercise and care for the land.
once away from the hazards of the cities, they can begin to gain their health and make a long term recovery, while at the same time learning valuable skills so that they can support themselves.
return to society as healthy, productive, skilled people.Hiro
And they still dare to spout nonsense like defund the police. These days nobody in their right mind even want to join their police force considering how bad they are treated there. Let's see how safe they all gonna feel after nobody is willing to put their life on the line for them anymore. Police in US has the most dangerous job in the world.

Part of the problem is the "broken window theory". If things look worn down, broken, dirty and generally uncared for, people will treat them as such. Mayor Rudy Guiliani cleaned up Times Square in the 90s by getting rid of the porn stores and crime in the area. On Japanese trains and Subways things are relatively spotless and broken things are fixed. Homeless are kicked out and there is a general feeling of safety. Sure, some of it is Japanese culture vs American culture, but even in Canada when I go to use the bathroom after a long flight into YVR in Vancouver I notice how disgusting the washroom is. Its about having people to clean and keep facilities looking decent from day one.

Might want to read the link I posted - we're talking total crime per 100K - and Red States win.. Congratulations...
Or as it's called, the "Xi" method, as used on the Uyghurs...
Welcome to MAGA-world....

Sounds like an over dimensional forensics and so my guess would be that it really is one. lol
