You can’t catch the virus from a deserted beach, forest or national park. People should be encouraged to go to such places of isolation.

Yes, do this.

If you encourage people to go to these "deserted' places, they won't be deserted anymore. In addition, hiking, mountain biking etc.. although in many cases is a singular activity, if you get injured, you put undue pressure on an already stressed health system.

As of today, NZ with population of 5 million people, have done a total of 42,000 corvid19 tests. Japan has done 46,000. Hmm...

NZ is going to come through this relatively OK.  Jacinda Arden's call to "go early, go hard", was the right one.  Another two weeks of lockdown - which it appears most people are  following - and NZ may not be in the clear but very close to it.  Nice to be able to trust your government to do the right thing by its people.
