So exactly who's he appeasing, heh..... aggie?

Or did it just sound good when you read it as "fact", on a right-wing hate blog.

the only Muslim member of NATO

Umm....no! Again.

Turkey is a secular state. It has a Muslim majority in the population but it is not an Islamic state.

Obama 'slammed' the Turks for their attempted genocide of the Armenians.

I can't believe JT passed up the chance to use their favorite headline verb.

neverknow:

Umm... actually, not quite. Atatürk nationalized and modernized islam, but did not abandon it. Turkey has a ministry of religion, which keeps a lid on extremist muslim clerics, but which also makes sure that islam stays dominant. Churches are allowed to exist, but may not own property and may not educate their priests. Converting Turks away from islam is a crime. In short, dhimmitude.

So no, Turkey is not Afghanistan, but it ain´t a secular state either. Kemalism is a special construct. And with the EU demanding that Turkey drops the military´s role as kemalist safeguard, the road to islamization in Turkey will be opened. Say hello to the first mullah state in the EU!

“Obama starts with a great advantage because his name is not George Bush,” said Bulent Aliriza, director of the Turkey Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington-based think tank.

Damn straight. Our last administration was/is the ridicule of the west.

Obama's got a lot of work to do to erase all the ill wills created the last 8 years. < :-)

Did you read the article or do you just post negative remarks every time President Obama's name pops up?

You think that reaching out to Turkey to help us in Iraq or in Afghanistan is a bad thing?

Hell he is trying to get help for the Bush mess from anyone that is willing to help.

Do you remember the so called coalition of the willing? That was a joke and is a shell of what it used to be.

I wish that Bush had never committed us to the fight in Iraq. I wish that he would of continued to fight our enemies in Afghanistan. But he was more interested in lining the pockets of his friends than taking out our enemies.

Now we are left with his mess and President Obama is trying to straighten it out. All you can say is that he is appeasing nations? Come on take your far right glasses off and at least read the article.

Turkey wants help to enter into the EU, we need help with Bush's war. OK I know that your far right wingers have a hard time with this but what he is doing is called D.I.P.L.O.M.A.C.Y.

I know you far right wingers have never heard of this word, but before President Bush came into office this word really meant something.

So take a deep breath and try to understand what President Obama is doing is not a new thing. It isn't either a evil socialist thing, it is D.I.P.L.O.M.A.C.Y.

Last thing, turn your radio off, Rush is clueless. Pick up a book on diplomacy and be amazed. The Bush administration was the dumbdown administration, 8 years of the is hard to correct.

Turkish protesters stepping on image of Obama's face - a major insult in the Mohammedan world he is trying to reach out to.

Why does the fist remain clenched?
