"It's good to be the king".

Nice to be able to take a luxury vacation when people in the US are still losing their homes...Merry Christmas Obama...
kokorocloud
djuice-- More like visiting his hometown for Christmas, like every other president has had the right to do?

Enjoy yourself Mr. President. You deserve it for all the hard work you have done.

"Frenzied lame duck" - good description of this Congress, the worst in US history.

like every other president has had the right to do?" well, that would imply he isn't any different than any of the other presidents.
You deserve it for all the hard work you have done." in normal cases, he would, but djuice posts, he shouldn't be. Think of it this way, he's CNC now, and like any decent leader, at least those I've served under, ate last, showered last, and rested last.... Perhaps if Obama had at the very least worn a boy scouts uniform in his life, he'd know that.

Merry Christmas Mr. President

In January 2009, before he signed his failed Porkulous Maximus bill into law, Obama lectured the American taxpayers, telling us, “Everyone must sacrifice for the greater good.”
Apparently, that means everyone but the Obama's.

Of course. How many vacations has he taken this year alone? And in the midst of crisis such as the oil spill. Yeah, he's more of a part time president then any other President we've had.
Sarge
Enjoy your vacation, Mr. President, lol.

It is a difficult job, and everyone needs time to power up by resting. Too many negative comments here. Let the guy rest so he can come back fresh and possibly find a way to stop the home defaults, homeless, starving, jobless...by offering more foreign aid to other countries, rather than to his own people. Hey wait a second....

You can't have an Obama article without stacks of nasty comments by the conservative gang. Anyway, all presidents take Xmas off so there!

RomeoRamen: "Apparently, that means everyone but the Obama's."
Hey, it beats your last president -- a man who even during crises could always be found 'back at the ranch'. He spent more of his time in office OUT of his office than any president in US history.

President Obama, the greatest president in U.S. history, deserves this vacation.

Sarge: Thank you, but no thank you.

I think it's fairer to say "President Obama inherited the biggest mess in US history".
Heh, and how it's been a gas watching those who supported the Bush train-wreck foam at the mouth.
gubijin
You guys making negative comments are just jealous of Hawaii's beautiful weather. And what is wrong with returning to your hometown, meeting high school buddies, and just relaxing? Geez, Mr. Obama deserves a vacation in Hawaii once in a while.

I think it's fair to say he not only wanted it, he's made it much worse.
History
The party to govern whether Democrat or Republican will depend on the public perception of their ability to deal with debt crisis. So far President Obama has turned US Liquidity debt to Sovereign debt. He better inspired whilst on vacation. Otherwise down the track he would declare "Yes we can, but I can't"
manfromamerica
He's played more golf in 1 year than Bush did in 8.
manfromamerica
In his case, that's a good thing.

It seems the Republicans winning the House is best thing to happen to Obama since it lit up a fire on the Congress Democrats' asses. More things happened in Congress in the last month than in the last year. The tax bill is seen more of a win for Republicans, but the other big issues like DADT repeal, START, 9/11 Health Care bill, etc. are seen more of a win for Obama. Consequently, political pundits are calling Obama the Comeback Kid.
Even the American public attributes the things getting done: a large majority (59%) of Americans believe that President Obama is "doing enough" to cooperate with Republicans in Congress, while in contrast, just 28% of Americans believe that Republicans are doing enough to cooperate with the President and 69% believe they are not doing enough.
