LIBERTAS; Obama has picked a weak runing mate, who mirrors himself. Israel of course wants McCain to win, he will help them stay safe from terrorist attacks.

They do not trust Obama, he flip flops all the time, as does Biden.

Obama may as well sto his campaign, McCain has won.

No matter who wins, theirs will be a 1 term presidency. If Obama wins, after his policies are revealed, and his inability to provide solid solutions and his blaming "I have to try to undo 8 years of Republicans and GW Bush" gets old and played out, he will be like Jimmy Carter and not get re-elected. On Nov. 5, 2008, the 2012 election will start with Bill & Hillary throwing the first punch. Biden was the strongest candidate in the field for the Dems this year after Obama and Hillary, and by placing him on the ticket, that cuts him out of the race for 2012, leaving it wide open for Hillary.

If McCain wins, then I suspect he will only do 1 term because of his age. His VP choice had better be a solid well liked choice. I like Lieberman, but I don't think the US is ready for an Independent party president. Same as I quoted above, Nov 5, 2008 Bill & Hillary will shoot the first shot in 2012. Their statement will be to the effect: "Hillary had the white Blue collar voters in hand and Obama/Biden lost them. She could have carried those states."

Just my opinion, but I think McCain will win this one.

I`m in agreement with Alphaape. The Dems have blown their chance to win. McCain with his flip flops and skeletons in his closet has turned him from a potential leader, to a figure of fun. Biden will not aid his cause at all, he has no charisma.

McCain comes across as dependable and can be relied on to keep the US in good order. Mr Obama, you have blown your chance, America will choose the right way yet again.

Alphaape, I think you are correct about the next president being a one-termer. bush was simply catastrophic to America, causing far too much damage to the country. To fix it, our president is going to have to make some hard choices...or continue down the same path of failure. Both of those choices will make bush's successor very unpopular. Simply stated, bush is a stain on humanity that will taint America for a very long time. But hey, he wanted a legacy, right? ;-)

For USA's Asian allies, such as Japan and South Korea, McCain is clearly the better choice, since the Republicans tend to be more concerned and willing to support their defenses against the communist threats. Therefore, the Repulicans are also willing to go along with trades which are more favorable to its Asian allies. Maybe I'm being too optimistic towards McCain and the Republicans, but I do know for certain that Obama and the Democrats are dissatisfied with the current trade practices between USA and its Asian partners and thus vowed to play a hardball with the Asian trading partners. So, I don't think Obama bodes well with either Japan or S. Korea, either.

Obama has shown real strength and courage to choose to go with a man who has criticized him in the past. That takes guts. Republicans on the other hand hold so much hatred, they would never do that.

Obama's selection of Biden also shows that Obama realizes his message of "change" is not everything - his choice underlines the fact that he knows he also needs an experienced hand to help him enact his agenda to rebuild America after 8 failure-soaked years under bush.

Biden is the right choice to enable Obama to do this.

But if you can name me a former black presidential hopeful who was clean (in the political sense, of course, no matter how much you want to twist it), articulate (in the sense that you knew what he was talking about, not just how smooth he talked), plus the other descriptions like bright and nice-looking, well be my guest.
