Obama might as well have introduced Gawd herself and it won't matter. (1) Hillary will weasel her way to the nomination at the convention. (2) Israel has already chosen McCain. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080821/ap_on_re_us/voting_machines_4 The Amerikan voters be damned.

LIBERTAS; Obama has picked a weak runing mate, who mirrors himself. Israel of course wants McCain to win, he will help them stay safe from terrorist attacks.

They do not trust Obama, he flip flops all the time, as does Biden.

Obama may as well sto his campaign, McCain has won.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

No matter who wins, theirs will be a 1 term presidency. If Obama wins, after his policies are revealed, and his inability to provide solid solutions and his blaming "I have to try to undo 8 years of Republicans and GW Bush" gets old and played out, he will be like Jimmy Carter and not get re-elected. On Nov. 5, 2008, the 2012 election will start with Bill & Hillary throwing the first punch. Biden was the strongest candidate in the field for the Dems this year after Obama and Hillary, and by placing him on the ticket, that cuts him out of the race for 2012, leaving it wide open for Hillary.

If McCain wins, then I suspect he will only do 1 term because of his age. His VP choice had better be a solid well liked choice. I like Lieberman, but I don't think the US is ready for an Independent party president. Same as I quoted above, Nov 5, 2008 Bill & Hillary will shoot the first shot in 2012. Their statement will be to the effect: "Hillary had the white Blue collar voters in hand and Obama/Biden lost them. She could have carried those states."

Just my opinion, but I think McCain will win this one.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I`m in agreement with Alphaape. The Dems have blown their chance to win. McCain with his flip flops and skeletons in his closet has turned him from a potential leader, to a figure of fun. Biden will not aid his cause at all, he has no charisma.

McCain comes across as dependable and can be relied on to keep the US in good order. Mr Obama, you have blown your chance, America will choose the right way yet again.

The funniest part of all this obama drama the text messaging deal.

CNN got the news before the obama faithful did on their cell phones. Not only did Team obama fail to let the faithful know first (as promised), but now has their contact info; meaning they will be deluged with obama-related junk mail begging them for donations.

Suckers.

Didn't obama say he was against the war in Iraq? If so, then why did he choose a running mate who voted for the war in Iraq?

RR

I agree with RomeoRamenll; His running mate has opposite views to him. Obama you flip flop again. Give up the race and let McCain become president without costingb the countries on a meaningless election.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Alphaape, I think you are correct about the next president being a one-termer. bush was simply catastrophic to America, causing far too much damage to the country. To fix it, our president is going to have to make some hard choices...or continue down the same path of failure. Both of those choices will make bush's successor very unpopular. Simply stated, bush is a stain on humanity that will taint America for a very long time. But hey, he wanted a legacy, right? ;-)

"John McCain would have to "figure out which of the seven kitchen tables to sit at when considering his own economic future," said Biden, jabbing at the man he called his personal friend."

Biden really treats his personal friends well, doesn't he?

"bush is a stain on humanity"

Wrong thread, Taka. This thread is about Obama and Biden.

Sarge- Great post!!!!

Biden is just as unreliable as Obama. What a combination, a disaster i would say. Anyway Obama has lost bthe race. Roll on the election, 4 more years of great government.

Obama's choice of Biden as veep is the death knell of Team Deadmeat McCain.

Biden is pitbull and he has already started attacking his target -

This from cnn.com -

"Known for his plain-spoken approach and penchant for speaking from the cuff, Biden wasted little time taking to the traditional vice presidential candidate's role of political attack dog.

"John McCain ... served our country with extreme courage, and I know he wants to do right by America," he said of his Senate colleague and the presumptive Republican presidential nominee. "But the harsh truth is loud and clear: You can't change America when you supported George Bush's policies 95 percent of the time."

He also seized on a McCain comment from this week when he could not remember how many houses he owns and said McCain was out of touch with the "kitchen-table" issues that working families face.

"It's a pretty hard experience. He'll have to figure out which of the seven kitchen tables to sit at," Biden said.

YEA!!!!!! I agree with the selection. Democrats on our way to Washington. < :-)

Mr. McCain wasted no time to use Sen. 5 percent's words against him:

For USA's Asian allies, such as Japan and South Korea, McCain is clearly the better choice, since the Republicans tend to be more concerned and willing to support their defenses against the communist threats. Therefore, the Repulicans are also willing to go along with trades which are more favorable to its Asian allies. Maybe I'm being too optimistic towards McCain and the Republicans, but I do know for certain that Obama and the Democrats are dissatisfied with the current trade practices between USA and its Asian partners and thus vowed to play a hardball with the Asian trading partners. So, I don't think Obama bodes well with either Japan or S. Korea, either.

RR - Oh, yeah, I forgot about that! Thanks!

I'm looking foward to the vice presidential debate between Biden and Romney or whoever McCain picks.

The AP is caught once again giving obama a pass.

When introducing his running mate, obama said, "So let me introduce to you the next president - the next vice president of the U.S. of America, Joe Biden."

But it gets better:

When it was Biden's turn to speak, he called said "Barack America" instead of Barack obama.

Heh, the democrat's dynamic duo is off to a great start.

RR

"the U.S. of America"

"Barack America"

Hee hee!

ÁP tried to cover for obama and Sen. 5 percent. But the comments will eventually show up on YouTube and in a Mr. McCain campaign ad.

Stay tuned.

Now, Americans are faced with a candidate - McCain - who wants to betray America's interests evn more than Bush has by continuing to focus American manpower, resources and finances on Iraqis over Americans, and Barack Obama, who wants to do precisely the opposite - focus on doing what is best for America.

And we're now waiting for which of the abortion-embracers - either Tom Ridge or Joe Lieberman - Deadmeat McCain will pick.

The campaign of John McCain - the Special Interest's Choice - have already begun sounding out top GOP donors and delegates on their thoughts about his possible pick of abortion-embracers Tom Ridge or Joe Lieberman - and he's been getting some pretty ferocious feedback, hence my use of the name 'Deadmeat McCain.'

It's pretty simple - a vote for John McCain is a vote to betray America - again.

Moderator: Readers, please stay on topic and refrain from using derogatory names to refer to candidates.

Heh, obama introducing Biden as the next U.S. President. Perhaps he's looking into the future.

How is Joe Biden consistent with obama's "change" mantra? Joe Biden is the ultimate Washington Insider. He came out of college and went to work for the U.S. government has been a DC Insider since age 30.

Biden is to change what cheesesteaks are to a diet.

The foreign commentary just gets funnier and more desperate:

Biden is pitbull and he has already started attacking his target ...

Gee, would that be the same Joe Biden who is on record on record saying

"John McCain is a good friend, a great friend and I would be honored to run with or against John McCain."

Heh, Obama's selection of Biden will send shivers down the non-existant spine of the McCain campaign.

Obama has shown real strength and courage to choose to go with a man who has criticized him in the past. That takes guts. Republicans on the other hand hold so much hatred, they would never do that.

Obama's selection of Biden also shows that Obama realizes his message of "change" is not everything - his choice underlines the fact that he knows he also needs an experienced hand to help him enact his agenda to rebuild America after 8 failure-soaked years under bush.

Biden is the right choice to enable Obama to do this.

Next, Biden, while acknowledging McCain as a long-time friend, has rightly stated that the latter has succumbed to the influence of Right, and that "You can't change America when you supported George Bush's policies 95 percent of the time."

Heh, it doesn't matter who McCain picks now, Obama's choice yesterday has just sewn up this election for the Democrats.

Republican Lemming Day approaches ever quicker. :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Two interesting observations:

They go on about McCain being a POW in Vietnam, not sure if USA would like a commander in chief who was captured by a 3rd world country, not taking anything away from his bravery and patriotism.

Obama + Biden = O(s)ama Bi(n)(la)den = ironically close, rather amusing actually. try say Obama and Biden fast a few times and I am sure a few announcers could easily make the slip.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

McCain's team will also be terrified by this double-whammy - not only will Biden go head to head with McCain on his strongest point - foreign policy, but Biden will also directly appeal to millions of blue collar voters that backed Clinton.

Heh, McCain needs to start writing his concession speech right about now.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Ah, you can smell the fear in the global liberals' posts. Their idol just threw them under the bus and now in desparation they're scambling to post anything to spin the fact that they've just been sold a 55 gallon drum of snake oil:

Obama's selection of Biden also shows that Obama realizes his message of "change" is not everything

But, but, but ... "change" was obama's mantra from Day One. Instead of not going with a Washington Insider, he picks a guy who's been in the U.S. Senate since the days when Richard Nixon was president.

Classic.

Romeo - McCain's the top of the heap of GOP deadbeat candidates.

Heh, while Democrat supporters will be arranging lights for the Democrat victory in November, the only lights the Republicans will be seeing are the lights of the oncoming express train before they get crushed under its wheels.

We've now reached the point where it doesn't matter which other deadbeat McCain picks, he's history come November :-)

That's a message of change America can believe in!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Romeo - "But, but, but ... "change" was obama's mantra from Day One."

It's called adapting, something your beloved leader GWB doesn't believe in and look where it got us in Iraq.

When the situation on the groung changes, the sensible move is to adjust and adapt your strategy.

After bowing down to Bush for 8 long years, it seems you and McCain don't think this is a good move.

Biden is a great choice by Obama and it's going to be entertaining watching him pound McCain and the his veep (who it is is irrelevant now) and the other misfits in his campaign.

Obama has just sewn up his White House bid.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Though they desparately want to be one of us, the global liberals don't understand U.S. politics. Biden couldn't even pull 5 percent of the vote within his own party during his most recent attempt at running for president. He brings nothing to the ticket.

But then again, obama was never a serious contender for the White House. The DNC knew voters would never go for a President Bush/clinton/ President Bush/clinton lock on the White House. So, they offer up the novelty act, obama. It made no difference to them who was obama's running mate; otherwise, they would have remained consistent in obama's pledge to "change" the way politcs were run in Washington; something that was never their goal in the first place.

RR

Either that, or it's Bi-bi Obama!

If the global liberals really believe that, then obama's followers should start shouting, YES WE CON!! YES WE CON!! YES WE CON!!

Hilarious thing here is to see the deadend McCain supporters getting all upset and emotional by the words of non-Americans.

It just goes to show how fearful they are of the Democratic rout they will be hit by in only a few short months now :-)

RomeoRamen - "Though they desparately want to be one of us."

Heh, only severe ignorance of the world and the people in it could lead someone to speak like this.

Me? I'm glad I'm not a Right Wing Extremist like some on this board. That would be the ultimate embarrasment and I'd probably immigrate to Canada :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Romeo - "But then again, obama was never a serious contender for the White House."

LOL! The lack of Reality reflected in statements like this is astounding!

If Obama's not a "serious contender" then why is he going to be nominated by the party representing the majority of Americans next week?

Biden is the man who take Obama to the White House and destroy the Republicans stolen lock on power of the last 8 years.

And, if he's not a "serious contender" then how the heck did he beath teh Clinton Machine?

Heh, you're funny :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

RomeoRamen, I think the fact you are terrified at the comments of posters like myself, who are not able to vote in US elections, just underlines the complete lack of confidence you have in Sen. McCain.

If you had even a shred of confidence in Sen. McCain, you would simply brush off my comments.

It seems, however, that you can't.

Do you care to explain this?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"I must tell you, frankly, I've been disappointed in my friend, John McCain, who gave in to the right wing of his party and yielded to the very swiftboat politics that he so — once so deplored," Biden added. "You can't change America, you can't change America when you know your first four years as president will look exactly like the last eight years of George Bush's presidency."

ha ha! In the words of my good friend Sarge - "Exactly, exactly."

Biden is going to so totally shaft his 'friend' John McCain, the GOP candidate won't know how many houses he owns.

Ooops, he's already admitted he doesn't have a clue LOL!!!!!!! :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sushi - I think Biden's going to regret shafting his friend.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sushi, I think the quote you posted is exactly why Sen. Biden was brought on board. He has the experience and seniority to get away with scolding Sen. McCain for taking the low road, the guts to face off with the neo-con slime machine and the verbal skills to give them the beat down they deserve. The big down side of bringing Biden on board however is that now the Democrats have two seats in the Senate that they will have to work to retain once Sen. Obama is sworn in as president. That's why I was hoping Sen. Obama would go with a governor or a retired military person.

Taka

"He ( Biden ) has the experience and seniority to get away with scolding Sen. McCain"

I hope he has the experience and the seniority to scold his boss when he starts screwing up - if, in fact, Americans have a brain fart big enough to elect him president.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sarge - "if, in fact, Americans have a brain fart big enough to elect him president."

That will only happen in the dreams of the few remaining unpatriotic Americans who fantasize about a McCain win in Novermber. :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Taka - good post.

"The big down side of bringing Biden on board however is that now the Democrats have two seats in the Senate that they will have to work to retain once Sen. Obama is sworn in as president."

Sorry, please enlighten me here? I wasn't aware ..do Senators lose their seats if they gain VP/President....of course, that is obvious.

Hmmm..I really don't think it is going to be as much of a problem as you may think - there are a number of GOP senators retiring at this election, and even more retaining increasingly shaky hold of their states.

"the guts to face off with the neo-con slime machine"

I'll be honest with you here - I - and I think millions of others - will not miss one iota the subterranean depths that Bush, Rove and the Neocons have dragged U.S. politics into - the hatred, partism, divisiveness and just plain childishness of the game now is just a global embarrassment.

And it's even more embarrassing to see some rightwing posters on this board continue to support and fuel the hatred and classlessness of this campaign.

Bush's ongoing inability to fluently speak his native language doesn't help, and now that McCain - as Biden rightly stated - has "yielded to the very swiftboat politics that he so — once so deplored" just makes it even worse.

I admit Obama's attacks have been getting increasingly nasty, but hey, only because McCain, who I once thought was a relatively decent guy, has gone Angry on us.

"He [Biden] has the experience and seniority to get away with scolding Sen. McCain for taking the low road, the guts to face off with the neo-con slime machine and the verbal skills to give them the beat down they deserve."

Precisely. Biden is extremely well positioned to hammer the Republican slime machine and give them better than they can throw up.

In their sheer desperation, the GOP are sure will come out with Youtube video clips of Biden criticizing Obama, but hey, the two are on the same side now and aligned to the same goal - win in November - so it doesn't really matter.

McCain is going to choose someone - who it is is essentially irrelevant at this point, but he had better watch out.

One of his mates is out to shaft him.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sarge - "Sushi - I think Biden's going to regret shafting his friend."

When Senator Joe Biden is Vice President of the United States of America, you think he's going to regret shafting his 'mate' McCain?

I don't think he'll regret it for a minute :-)

In his introduction of biden, obama said that biden is what a lot of other politicians claim to be. Heh, the irony of that statement coming from his own lips was lost on the man of change. Any bets that it won't be lost on those creating the campaign ads for Mr. McCain?

Nor will the irony of obama introducing biden first as the next president of the United States then stumbling and correcting himself and saying vice president.

Heh, obama even needs a teleprompter to tell the world who his VP is.

Too funny

All you have resorted to doing is bashing the candidate you are absolutely petrified will win in November - Sen. Barack Obama.

ramen, it would seem that one more post with non-capitalized letters in regards to the Democrats should be enough to win the election for McCain.

Relax, Madverts.

No McCain or Hillary supporter will be able to insult Obama (and the ticket the Dems are now stuck with) quite like Joe Biden already has:

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy, I mean, that's a storybook, man."

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy, I mean, that's a storybook, man."

In the context of a campaigner for president. But if you can name me a former black presidential hopeful who was clean (in the political sense, of course, no matter how much you want to twist it), articulate (in the sense that you knew what he was talking about, not just how smooth he talked), plus the other descriptions like bright and nice-looking, well be my guest.

I took the statement to mean that Obama is the first black presidential hopeful with an actual shot at the presidency. I tend to agree, and I have since well before the primaries were over.

More off-the-wall stuff from Ramen. He just wants to put Obama supporters on the defensive. Obviously Obama was best choice for the future. Biden is a great choice for many reasons, including expectations about how he can work with Obama himself.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"Obviously Obama was best choice for the future"

It's not obvious at all.

"Biden is a great choice for many reasons"

He's a bad choice for many reasons, including this one:

"You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent."

0 ( +0 / -0 )

...if, in fact, Americans have a brain fart big enough to elect him president.

If it turns out that Obama-Biden in the White House is a brain fart, the blame will be on the GOP. 8 years of mucking up America, only very forgetful Americans are going to go GOP this year. Many will vote anything but GOP, but thankfully, I don't think Obama-Biden are just anybodies. I think they will be plenty good enough.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"If it turns out that Obama-Biden in the White House is a brain fart, the blame will be on the GOP"

Of course! But if they turn out to be a real dream team, bringing peace to the Middle East and wiping out our debts and creating budget surpluses, they'll get all the credit! Hee hee!
