Loss of one life + number of arrests + U.K spent $10M. Worth? These leaders may have some solution for financial crisis but not for economic (consumption) crisis. It will require complete restructuring of job market in advanced countries and that will take time. Less delelopment in emerging markets pose no threat to common people.

cost of violence on eve of G20 summit in London: $20 million cost of one life lost at protest: priceless

Sarkozy and Merkel have tried to push regulation to the fore, calling for new scrutiny of ratings agencies and lightly regulated hedge funds"

Ah, but are they really trying to crack down on organizations that would, say, call in a bomb hoax when a stock or fund's rating is lowered? Until they do that, it is going to be hard to scrutinize these agencies.

Wish i had been there and could have hurt a few coppers and smashed some capitalist scums building up. There weren't enough demonsrators , a day of anarchy is needed to show the big wigs that people power can work.

The geezer who died was probably a victim of pollice violence.

What would you have used to smash the buildings? A capitalist baseball bat, a capitalist brick? Or your bare anarchist hands?

Tough man.

The first line of my post is actually an incorrectly quoted last line of the post immediately before it.

irishosaru: I've ben in plenty of violent demos. I was involved in trashing a Mcdonalds duting the poll tax riots and got 12 months. I do what is ay , and i would have loved to have been in London yesterday with my rucksack full of potential missiles.

The old bill desreved it and so did RBS and i hope it kicks off big time today.

Anarchy for the UK!!!!!!

"Anarchy for the UK!!!!!!"

Yeah, we've seen Mad Max.

"We'll see you on the road, Scag......" - The Goose

Heh, though I'm at a loss as to what MacDonalds had to do with Thatcher's disasterous Poll Tax scheme...

Madverts: Don't matter about Mcdonalds connection. People power proved it could change an unfair law, and BRitain and the rest of the world should demonstrate with violence if need be to change policies that do more harm than good.

Yes classwar - we simply refused to pay the poll tax.

Civil dis-obediance my lad.

Didn't have to smash any fast food joints up though....

Madverts: It wern't just not paying the poll tax, i had 2 mates banged up for not paying it. We had to take violenec to the streets of London and we need to do it again and agian until the leaders learn to be public servants not public parasites.

"President Barack Obama, his helicopter grounded by fog, arrived by car"

We need more fog. Them helicopters use too much fuel anyway.

G20 all in one place.. you would think that would make make it easy to report world news... but no change the world is still a small place... naff blinkered news coverage as usual outlets.

"President Barack Obama, his helicopter grounded by fog, arrived by car"

Totally spoiled his deus ex machina routine.

Of all the groups of silly people in the world, anarchists are some of my favorite and Madverts spells it out pretty well:

Heh, though I'm at a loss as to what MacDonalds had to do with Thatcher's disasterous Poll Tax scheme...

The G-20, Wall Street and the regular people around the world want to see the US rein in the financial regulations that caused the world collapse.

The GOP has more fun in ridicule and trash talk then seeing Wall Street reined in. The GOP is upset that the Whitehouse orchestrated the firing of GM's top thief.

The riots here are the same at all G-20 events and they are calling for the heads of the ones through the world who have caused the collapses worldwide. < :-)

ClassWarUK, anarchists are idiots. You sound as if you'd fit right in with those posts. Only in Britian you say? Excellent!!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The capitalist like the way things have run except that they can't control anything. They scream that the government is in the business of firing executives, but the executives are out of contact with the world. Just looking to see what they can steal from investers, stockholders and consumers.

I'm hoping that the G-20 comes up with ways of toppling some of the GOP/Capilalistic theft rings. Theft rings like Wall Street, like AIGs, like the Big 3 automakers and more.

Capitalism has been killing us. I appreciate capitalism, I don't appreciate theft. < :-)

Anarchist don't know exactly what an Anarchist is (Anarcho-capitalism Vs Anarcho-communism and so on).

Advacating violence as means of social change does make some Anarchists idiots. Compare the changes Gandhi brought India through passivism against imperialist England and the changes brought by Anarchists anywhere in the world.

Good Jorb: I don't need a right winger who believes in capatilsm to preach to me. Ghandi only succeeded because of the change in British society and the Labour being in power. Britain leaving left tens of thousands of deaths between the new Pakistan and India. Names are just names given to people, my belief is if needed foece be used to bring equality to society and destroy the rich who are sucking our world dry. The demonstartions in London are pathetic compared to the oild days. Where are the bloodied coppers, the mass property destruction and law changes due to mass demos. Too many bloody sheep now, like most people on here, baaaaaaa.

I don't need a right winger who believes in capatilsm to preach to me.

If I had to label myself, it wouldn't be right winger or a capitalist, I fully advocate for social democracy, reforming capitalism democratically through government regulation to remove social inequities. The key here being democratic, not violent, to bring about change. That way the will of the people is being recognized. Violent protests/revolts like those in the London may not represtent the will of the people and the protesters could be seen as tring to force their beliefs on a country that doesn't agree with them.

I can understand voilent revolts in non-democratic countries but England is a democracy, protest by voting, protest by electing people who will change the system, protest by informing people in an educated manner that the current system isn't the only way.

But the rich don't really hang at McDonalds, so...I'm confused.

Good Jorb: It was only us rioters and the chaos we caused that chnaged the bad Poll tax law, not democracy, and most people supported the ending of the tax.

bushlove: Eat the rich, sleep in peace. Gonna be riots galore this summer all over Europe, might have to pop over for a bit of fun. If i get done, spend a few months at the tax payers exxpense in Her Majesties classy jails, watching me telly, rent free, hahahahaha.
